Our 4some played this course Aug 7 and finished in less than 4 hrs. Get a coupon and pay only $30 to play. The course and staff support are worth the money. No GPS on carts. Reminder to players who use SG2, the unit will require frequent reboot due to interference from the nearby airport. It can be a nuisance after a while. The sprinklers are well marked though.

Great course, love the way the it plays. I scored at least 5 strokes lower than my usual, but I don't think that's because it's an easy course, but rather gives you confidence in the way it's laid out. It invites an aggressive play while troubles are recoverable when executed conservatively. If this is how all Nicklaus Design courses are, I'll be hunting down more of those!

This is a good course to play for a fee... but never mind the bargain... the course is a good one to play. The club does not and will not have a driving range, but they have a putting area. No big deal... they have a net. If that bothers anyone, go to Desert Princes or Cimarron golf and hit a few before coming to Escena. A brand new golf course... Nov 2005. Tremendous golf course, In great shape for summer in P.S. Greens suprisingly fast and smooth, fairways very plush. Course is beautifully landscaped as a desert course, but does not play as one. No forced carries, waste areas around greens ect. Big wide fairways have small stategically placed bunkers everywhere, enough to make you think. Course is fairly easy, but huge greens that are angled and narrow with plenty of contour, and the fact that you cannot see the surface on most approach shots, is how this course defends itself. Pleasure to play even tho it was 113 yesterday, when all is finished out here this course will most likely be out of most players price range, So play while you can.

If you can get over that and the 105deg. weather, you'll have enjoy a well planned and laid out course. Get an early tee time.

Played two Saturdays in a row 5/20 and 5/27. Even in 105 degree temp the 1st day and a 30 MPH wind the 2nd, this was a fun golf course. Great new layout that has some bite if you are not placing the ball inthe right spots. But then again it plays fair in windy conditions. Plus Jullian has got to be the hottest starter in all of golf.

For a new course, it is in excellent condition and the staff caters to each golfer as if you were playing a country club.
