It's getting better! After the recent overseeding and maintenance, Encinitas Ranch is much better than just a few months ago. Fairways and greens are nice - just wish people would repair ballmarks. How hard is it to do?! Only gripes with this course are the bunkers (still with inconsistent sand quality) and tee boxes (maybe they should shut some down for a while, level them off and start over). Hopefully this course will stay in good shape after the "down time".

It's too bad JC Resorts is letting this course fall apart. For the location, and for what they charge (even to JC members), things are going downhill fast. Most tee boxes are crowned and not level. Bunkers have less than an inch of sand in most places - like hitting off hard pan. Fairways are OK, but there are many bare spots not marked as G.U.R. Best part of this course is the greens which is saying something, considering the number of unrepaired ball marks - on some greens it's like putting through a minefield. Maybe the scheduled aeration and overseeding next week will help things ... maybe. I won't play here again for at least a couple months, despite shooting an 80 on 9/22 - just not worth the money anymore when Arrowood, Twin Oaks and San Luis Rey Downs are so close.

J C Golf, you should be ashamed of your self, you will aerated half the green on every hole, and you won’t tell people when they make there starting times or give them a break on the green fees.

Even American Golf will do that much for you.

I am a J C Players Card holder and I don’t like the idea of using my Free Round of Golf (that I paid for) on a course that is not up to your own standards.

I think you should at lest have the decency to tell golfers when they make there starting times and let them decide if they would like to play on half greens, but don’t wait until they get to the course and then tell them after they have driven 40 or 50 miles at $3.00 a gal.

The course uses an appropriate mixture of canyons, wind and changes in elevation for a very enjoyable golf experience. The course drained well with the extensive rains.

a nice comfortable place to play for the mid level golfer or somone like me. this and twin oaks make for a decent test of my skills without placing obstables to my game that are beyond my ability.

Good place to work on golf game, well cared for, and some fun holes, pace of play moves quickly and the desk staff and starters are helpful. Food is reasonable and served quickly.

First, and probably last time I'll play here. Was glad to play a different course out of my rotation, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play this course. It's just average. Decent conditions. Greens had tons of unfixed ball marks and the tee boxes were a joke. Completely hacked up and unlevel. I felt it was overpriced for the local rate of $67 on a Sunday; I couldn't imagine paying $91. In fact, I wouldn't. For the locals, great course. But, better options just 30 minutes away (Pala Mesa; Crosscreek).
