Greens were in pretty decent shape...they were all at least consistent and putted pretty true.

Fairways had lots of bare spots and definately were in need of some serious TLC.

Tee boxes were in good condition.

Course is only in marginal condition overall, but it's an entertaining track nonetheless and the price is pretty decent.

If you don't go expecting flawless course conditions, I think you'll find this to be a fun course with very interesting terrain.

Played it today - weather was perfect, the course was in very good condition, the hawks were circling, and every so often the distant concussion of explosions or rhythmic beat of heavy automatic weapons fire wafted in from a training range to the north. In a word, perfect.

They opened it up to unescorted civilians in December to boost revenues and add traffic - even now the course condition indicates only moderate traffic. I found it an excellent value for $28. Scenic, with generally good conditions (only a few patches of a few fairways need reseeding, and even there it's not terrible), and very friendly.

Conventional layout (some nice elevated tees and scenic greens on back 9), most greens are fairly simple, moderate number of bunkers, and no deep ones. As with most SoCal courses, "tree management" is key. The two enlisted guys I played with, to my surprise, said that cool ocean breezes make it to the course year-round, so that it's rarely very hot there - I had thought its inland location would make it a bit toasty in summer/fall afternoons.

I'll be back, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys uncomplicated golf on a solid course in a scenic quiet setting.

Very nice location, very secluded. Good layout, course has potential, just need to take better care of the greens and fairways. But for the Active duty military rate of 10 dollar greens fees and 10 dollar cart fees for a total of 20 bucks, its a great value.
