Isoceles - Scottsdale
Played 7/15 for the first time. Paid $23 which included lunch. I was really surprised at the condition of the course. I had read some recent reviews, and heard some good things. First the GOOD... They let our group go early, even though we had the 10:00am lunch deal. The course is a nice layout, where you can see most of the trouble. It's different than most golf courses that we have around here because 6 out of 9 holes on the front have water, while 3 holes on the back have water. On the Par 4's, take aim @ the 150 yard stakes. Greens were OK, but slow. They were running about 8.5-9. Now the BAD... Most of the Championship tee boxes were not level. Some were only half mowed. The fairway and rough had many bare spots. (We were rolling it onto a good lie if we were in the fairway). Other than the 150 yard stake & a 100 yard plate, it was hard to find any yardages on the sprinkler heads. Most had come off and the carts didn't have GPS. The UGLY... You play this course through a housing development. The houses have no desert space between them and the course. They are right up against the edges of the rough on many holes. If you spray it off the tee, you may be paying for more than your round. Bottom line is... I think I caught the course having a tough summer. I'd try it again in cooler weather.

I played here the weekend of May 10th. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were fast and in some cases unpredictable, making for an interesting round. I found the front nine to be tougher than the back nine. There are many houses that line the fairways, so if you like "house golf" be careful; although with the massive foreclosures in AZ, you may get lucky and not have a resident come out and scream at you! The first hole is to the right of the driving range so if you pull it off the tee, good luck finding your ball! Many holes have water around the greens or fairways but if you can control your drives the fairways are wide. I cannot remember the hole number (front nine) but there is a par 4 that tees off above the fairway.

It was a great experience and one I would enjoy playing again and again.

My only complaint is the snack bar. I was expecting a full service restaurant with bar. After all, a little stronger "aiming oil" would make the greens that much more challenging!

This course was great for the price. I have never played in AZ, but the course was well maintained and I didn't have any issues that stood out to me. I would play here again for sure.
