Another great day in CO for golf. IMO this is one of the best public courses in CO. Course was in its usual top shape as always. Tees flat and clean. Fairways great coverage and terrific roll. 5K ft elevation is so nice to play fast fairways. Traps all playable. Greens were holding shots and rolled at 10. Hope I have many more years to play on this gem.

After a day of fly fishing, we got back to golf. I have said many times, this is IMO one of the best public courses in CO. And I would put it up against many across the country. Its got elevation, deep rough, small canyons and a cactus you want no part of (called walking stick). And the views to the south of the mountains are just beautiful. Today we found the course in its usual great shape. Good tee boxes. Nice fairways with roll and great lies. Rough was deep (2"). Fluffy traps. And fast (about 11/12) greens. All for the cost of 30 big ones. Wonderful course and terrific customer service from everyone. I look forward to many more years of coming to this part of CO.

Played 7/21. Love this course. One of the best public courses in CO. Used for numerous qualifying State and National tournaments. Walking Stick is a form of desert cactus. So named as it looks like a walking stick. But do not go near it. This course is a combination links and traditional because of the use of bunkers and no bunkers. So it is a joy to play. It sits along an old river bank and has numerous desert OB, small canyons to avoid along fairways, hit over. It also has a decent amount of elevation changes to challenge the best hitters. The rough is 2 inches and terrible and you might just as well take a drop and play on. If you are in the area by all means to play here. Fairways were like carpet. The lies and roll were fantastic (good rains lately in the area). Tee boxes are all great. Greens were rolling at 13 and you could easily putt it off the green into rough, canyon or a Walking stick if not careful. Just a gem of a public course to play. I can't wait to come back.
