Played Soboba on Sunday 4-22. Have played here many times since the changes a few years ago. Have always considered this one of my favorite courses. Well yesterday it not only met all of my requirements, but surpassed them. Since the Nationwide came through her a few weeks ago this course is in the best shape I have ever seen it. The Tee Boxes were perfect, the fairways lush, with the ball sitting up at all times. The Greens were fast but fair, and the traps had plenty of fresh sand in them. Now let's get to the rough. A normal 4-4 1/2 round took us over 5 hours to play because they haven't cut the rough since the Golf Tournament. Our foursome spent so much time looking for balls lost in the rough that the Marshall had to come over at least 3 times. We probably lost 8-10 balls in the long rough. If you are thinking about playing here in the next couple of weeks, please call and talk to the starter before coming. Overall still one of my favorite Golf courses, even if its in the middle of nowhere.

Played on Sunday 2-26. As I have said in past reviews, you can't beat this course for 39.00 from Golf Now. Has water on at least 50% of the holes, and this affects tee shots and second shots. All in all the conditions were very playable from fairways in very good condition, to Greens being around a 10. and very few ball marks to be found. The course was very green, except for the rough, which was dormant. Really no need to spend 125.00 or more on the high end courses, when you can play here for much less. For me it's either play in L.A. and take 5-6 hours or come here and play in 3 1/2 to 4. Highly recommended.

Golf Course in Great condition all around, with one exception, the Greens. Not that they were in bad shape, but the problem was they were maybe the fastest greens I have ever putted on. My buddy and I just could not figure them out. If it's possible for them to be a 13 then that's what they were. Other than the Greens had a great time. The course reminds me of some of the Palm Springs desert courses that are in immaculate condition. I had heard they have a lot of wind out here, but none to speak of when we played.
Highly recommended, but beware of the Greens.

Played Woodbridge/Blackrock when I arrived on Friday the 10-21. This is a perfect example of the variety of Golf courses in the St. George area. This is a very mature type course that has been there for years, but doesn't show any signs of wear. My friend and I played with a single who must have been a long drive competitor, Had more air time on his drives than anyone I have ever seen. The course was in very good condition, with the exception of the rough, which was 3-4 inches. This is a must play.

This is probably my favorite Municipal Golf Course I have ever played. For the price you just can't beat the overall enjoyment of playing this course. The fairways, Greens, Tee Boxes and sand were great. Played on a Sunday and if you know St. George, Sundays are not what you would call a day most people play Golf, so the course was empty at 9:00am. If I lived up here I would play this course more than any other, not just for the value, but for the enjoyment.

Second time playing Sand Hollow. Really like the back nine. but front nine kind of boring. Conditions were immaculate as usual. The greenest fairways I have ever seen, feels like you're playing on carpet. Tee boxes as well. Back nine visually stunning, but all in all there are so many other options in St. George, to me not worth the 100.00 we spent to play.

Played on Sunday 10-9. Have played Oak Valley many times and have never seen it this lush. this lushness I"m sure was due to the overseeding and closure of the course a few months ago. The teeboxes and rough was still growing out, so finding a good spot for your tee shots was a little difficult. as for the rough, sometimes finding your ball was a challenge, and depending how far you were from the green, all you could hit out of there was a wedge. The greens were in great shape, very smooth. Fairways needing cutting, but good lies were there to be found. All in All a great course, challenging, even from the white tees and I will continue to go back there and play. btw, the pace of play 4:15 on a Sunday morning was awesome.

Played on Sat 6-4. Was very impressed with overall conditions. Tee Boxes were perfect. Greens were as smooth as I have ever seen. Fairways were lush, ball sat up on almost every lie, and did I Mention the scenery. All I can say is WOW. The red rock formations in Sedona are truly amazing. The Golf Course needs to be played, just to admire the spectacular Mountains. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Played on Sunday 3-13. We teed off around 9:00 am and flew through in about 4 1/2 hours. Having never played here before, did not really know what to expect. The first 2 holes will test your golf game as they are the 1 and 3 handicap holes on the course. the true test of this layout are the Greens. they are probably the smallest Greens I have played anywhere. To keep your approach shots on the Greens you must either hit the ball very high or try and run the ball up, obviously depending upon where the pin is. the rough was in so so shape, but the fairways, tees and Greens where very good. Very enjoyable round of Golf for 45.00 on a Sunday and 15.00 cart fee for a replay. Definitely a hidden gem among San Diego Golf courses. Also went to the Pala Casino after for Sunday Buffet, the best ever!

played Sunday10-10. First time playing Hidden Valley. Try to play most of the Inland Empire courses. This course stands out as an example of what proper care and good ownership can do. Outstanding customer service all around, got there at 8:15 for a 9:00 tee time got us out, a twosome in 15 minutes. Hidden Valley reminds me a lot of Lost Canyons in Simi. Only way better conditions and just as challenging. The greens probably running 11 or 12, were very fast and had many breaks that for a first timer caused many 3 putts. Very difficult to score on, would need to play here a few more times to get the proper perspective of some of the holes. All in all would rate this as the best course in the area along with Goose Creek. Congratulations Jay Miller.

Played on Sunday 8-22. Early Tee time 7:00 AM. Have played the Wolf 4 times before. Always during this time of year because of the lower rates, 70.00 dollars. We arrived early, noticed very few cars in the parking lot. Checked in with the starter, and got right out within 5 minutes of arriving. No one in front of us or behind us. We started thinking, whats wrong with this picture. you're talking about one of the best golf courses in the country right! Well after playing the first hole we realized that the overall conditions of the course resembled a not very well kept muni. The fairways were beat up, the grass growing out of control. dirt in the middle of the fairways. roped off areas protecting players from walking in mud.The last 3 holes smelled so bad we couldn't wait to get out of there. When you're standing on the teeing areas looking out at the vistas, everything looks great, but once you get to the fairways and can't find a good lie anywhere, because the ball is on dirt or mud, you know that you are in for a long day. On the good side the greens were in good shape. But that's about it. Very disappointing day of golf at on of my favorite courses. Oh by the way, when we were leaving we asked the guy who cleans the clubs, who I know has worked there for 5 years if he knew anything, he just shrugged and said the economy has affected the Golf Course and wouldn't say anymore. Next time you plan a trip to Wolf Creek you better call ahead of time, and hope they are honest with you.

Played on Sat 4-24. was very impressed with this Old School Palm Springs Golf course. Probably built in the 60's but very well kept. Many trees lining the fairways, and water on what seemed like almost every hole. No doubt you will lose some balls if you don't hit it straight. From the Teeing areas to the Greens, very well conditioned. Some challenging holes, for example #10 slightly uphill par 5 with a huge tree blocking the Green. Got out for $45.00 E-mail special, which covered 2 rounds and lunch. Talk about best bang for the buck anywhere. I have played many courses in the Desert, but for the money I would recommend this one right now.
