1st time playing here, played the blacks (3020/54.6) in 3 hours. Added bonus, it was with my adult daughter for her 1st round of golf on a "real" course. She actually made par on her 4th hole & hit the ball pretty well for a 1st time/anti golfer, I was impressed! Unbelievable Golfnow prepaid hot deal of $6.99 for unlimited twilight golf. She played 18, I played 36 in 5 1/2 hours total in breezy to very breezy hot conditions. It was a 1-2 club wind all afternoon.

Really unique course, 17 par 3's and a single short par 4. I literally used all 14 clubs @ some point in the round, great variety of pars 3's. Three par 3 holes were 200+ yards from the tips, two were between 180-199, three were between 160-179, three were between 140-159, four were between 120-139 and two were less than 119. The par 4 was 315.

The rough is really mowed down, making everything from a putter to a bump run, to a normal pitch to a flop shot viable around many greens. Many greens have huge mounds surrounding them where you will be faced with a severely uphill chip if you barely miss the green.

The greens definitely showed signs of their recent aeration, were medium speed and usually bumpy. I found many to have deceptive breaks that were hard to see. The traps were nicely maintained with nice, fluffy sand.

The fairways and rough were mowed tight & well maintained. A few tees showed divot damage, but considering there were 17 par 3's, not too bad overall.

Customer Service was a +. Really liked the layout, away from homes and great on the course practice for every iron in your bag. I would definitely play here again.

1st time playing here, and everything I heard "good" was correct. Played the blues (6658/72.0/130) in 3 1/2 hours on an awesome Golfnow hot deal of $21.99 for a 730A tee time, and they got me out earlier. Played with a nice family from Hemet, we were the 1st ones out. POP was 3 1/2 hours.

Loved the layout, there were a few holes that either were or easily could be a real beast (#7, #15 & #17 stand out). Some of the most generous fairway landing areas I have ever seen on a desert course... once you were out there and could see them. However, many were well hidden and looked tighter than they actually were from the tee.

The greens are recovering nicely from the recent aeration. Probably another 7-10 days before they are completely healed, but they were medium speed, held shots well and were reasonably smooth for greens that still had evidence of being punched with top dressing on them. I found the greens to be true and easier to read than most, the sight lines usually stood out to me.

Both the fairways and rough were fairly lush, with a few burned spots here and there. The traps were in excellent condition, nice fluffy sand. The tees were generally in good to very good shape as well.

Loved the layout, it's completely away from any houses. Generous amount of lakes, canals, native areas, many tee shots that were nicely camouflaged by the designer and tons of both fairway and green side traps... yet this was not a tight course for the most part.

Customer service was a ++, from the complimentary range balls all the way to the cart guy cleaning your clubs after the round under misters.

Great course, wished that I lived closer so that I could enjoy it more often! Will definitely be back.

1st time playing here, 2nd round of the day with RGM2525. Played on a Golfnow $19 deal, we were matched up with a nice English senior, Graham, who could play... we played the blues (6375/71.0/129) in 4 hours. We teed off @ 10:15A in nice weather conditions for this times of year, a little breezy and slightly less than 100 degrees.

The greens were the best part of the course, medium fast, usually smooth. I could see the lines well on these greens. The traps were well maintained with nice, fluffy sand.

The fairways and rough were decent, not great. A few areas were brown or even hardpan, but you usually had a decent lie.

The tees were a different matter. The Bermuda hasn't come back and if they over seeded the tees last winter, it is gone. Many tees had large bare spots on them, some of the poorest I have played in quite some time.

The layout meanders through homes in a retirement community, which normally I don't care for. However, this one, I liked, four par 5's and five par 3's for a par of 71. It wasn't too tight and had a good variety of holes. Complementary water and range balls to go along with ++ customer service. I would definitely play here again.

1st time playing here. Played with RGM2525 on a Golfnow prepaid tee time for $19. We teed off slightly after 6A & played the gold tees (6614/73.0/133) in 3 1/2 hours.

The wind was rarely below 25 mph @ any point in the round, with guts in the 40 to 50 mph range. It was almost unplayable @ times, we had balls getting blown around on the green and even a 2 ft. putt was an adventure.

The greens were kinda discolored, light green with a hint of yellowish @ times. However, they putted nice, the best part of the course, occasionally bumpy, but usually smooth & medium fast.

The tees were average. The sand traps were well maintained and had nice sand.

The fairways & rough were generally decent, a little thin in places, certainty not lush.

Customer service was a +. I really liked the layout and will be back. However, based on what I'm told, it's usually really windy here, today more so than most.

Enjoyed a p.m. round with GKer RGM2525, our 2nd round of the day on a great golf now deal of $11 including a cart. We played the green tees (6705/71.8/125) in about 3 hours.

The greens were partially bermuda and partially winter rye & were medium slow to slow, usually bumpy, occasionally smooth. Traps were in good condition with nice fluffy, white sand.

The tees were generally well maintained. Both the fairways & rough were decent, usually a good lie, occasionally a thin lie.

1st time playing here, this is a better course than their sister Legends course in my opinion. The $11 made the round well worth it even though the temp was in the low hundreds. Customer service was a plus. I liked the layout and would definitely come back.

Enjoyed a nice mid morning round with GKers Shazza, Shebylo and RGM2525 on a golf now hot deal for $25. Played the Orange tees (6615/71.1/124) in around 4 hours.

The greens were medium slow to slow, bumpy to occasionally smooth. They were about 1/2 bermuda and still about 1/2 winter rye @ this point. The sand was nicely maintained with fluffy, white sand. Tees were generally well maintained.

Both the fairways & rough were decent to good, you usually had good lies.

After playing the lush courses around Portland recently, this was a big change, especially the greens. I would rate this course's conditions as about average for the desert this time of year.

It was a pretty straight forward layout, not a great course, but certainty not a bad one either. Customer service was a plus. Only negative was that their warm up area is hitting into nets, but they provide free warm-up balls. They did have a nice chipping green.

My 1st time playing here, I will play here again. If you get a deal, it's well worth playing.

Teed off in the rain @ 2:15 on a prepaid Golf Now "hot deal" of $20.99. Since I was already obligated to paying, my cheap ass was playing, rain or not.

Walked the blues (6307/71.0/134) in 4h, 15m, playing behind a lady professional qualifying group complete with scorers, spectators etc. We got absolutely drenched for the first hole and 1/2, then it cleared off, and other than being pretty windy, was a good time to play.

An added bonus was that Titleist was doing a ball fitting demo @ the course, which netted me two, 2 pack sleeves of Titleist balls. After hitting probably 25-30 balls with a SW, 6I & Driver, their rep's computer analysis determined I was a cross between a Pro V and a Pro V1x, and that either would be an improvement on my game. Since I hit maybe 1/3 of the practice shots well and the other 2/3 mediocre to poor, all it proved to me was that I could hit crappy golf shots with brand new expensive balls equally as well as I can with whatever I find and usually play...

Luckily, I played better on the course, from tee to green anyway. Even with the rain, the greens were quick & still usually firm, even after a downpour that left many sand traps looking like mini water hazards. I had four 3 putts on these big, quick, undulating greens, and that was probably about average for my 4some, all of whom were decent to good golfers.

The traps were excellent when I played here last week, I could see that they had been maintained until the downpour, so can't mark the course down for mid day weather beyond their control.

The fairways, rough and tees were lush and well to very well maintained. The actual course drained well after a good amount of rain fell in a short amount of time, it was quite playable in spite of the downpour earlier.

I like the five par 3 and five par 5 layout. They have five different holes where marsh like areas that are yellow staked come across the fairway and causes you to lay up with a shorter club on the par 4 and the two par 5's, so the course plays longer than the scorecard yardage would indicate.

Another hidden level of difficulty for this course is that on these 5 holes, you can lose considerable yardage in addition to the penalty stroke, it can be almost as severe as a lost ball or out of bounds stroke and distance penalty when you start having to replay from 100 yards or more from where your ball actually landed. Four of these holes have severe slopes in front of the green, where it you come up just short of the green, your ball may roll back into the yellow hazard. Since there is no where to drop on that side not nearer the hole, my conclusion was that I had to replay from the other side.

Customer service has been a ++ every time I have played here. In spite of again being beaten up on the greens, I like the course and will be back soon.

Played the blues, 6809/73.0/139, teed of @ 3:45. Got a $45 with a cart midweek, twilight internet special offered by the club. Enjoyed a nice 18 holes with Joe, a club employee, then 9 by myself & finished @ 8:45. 5H to play 27 holes, so the pace of play was excellent.

Great layout that has hosted Senior PGA events in the past, the back is tighter and the tougher of the two nines.

The greens have healed nicely from their recent aeration. Medium fast and a little bumpy late in the day, but still rolled excellent. The fairways and the rough were very nicely maintained, as were the tees.

The fairway bunkers on #1 & #3 were being redone and were played as ground under repair. That was the only negative on the whole course. The clubhouse, pro shop and the customer service from all the employees I dealt with was excellent.

A much less pricey alternative to Pumpkin Ridge if you desire to play a top notch golf course in the greater Portland area. I look forward to coming back and playing the South course again, in addition to the North course I have yet to play.

2nd time playing here, glad I gave it a 2nd chance. MUCH better overall condition than when I played here 14 months ago.

A short par 71 course, played the blues, (5872/68.2/116) in 3h, 45m, on a great twi-light rate of $16 to walk. Kind of a quirky but fun layout with many dogleg left holes, a couple of which are 90 degree doglegs well guarded by huge, mature trees.

Nice clubhouse, fully functional snack bar. Only negative on the facilities is that their limited driving range is matted and is less than 200 yards to the end. However, a great feature of this course is that they provide complimentary yardage books, which definitely come in handy with all the doglegs. They also enter you into a drawing for a free round each week if you fill out your contact info on the back of your receipt @ the conclusion of your round.

The poa annua greens were decent, medium slow and a bit bumpy late in the day as you would expect from poa annua greens. Since this is a shorter course, most of the greens here are relatively small and usually fall off toward the sides and front. This can lead to some tough chips if you are short sided and putts with a decent amount of break if coming at the hole from the wrong angle.

The tees were decent, most divots had been recently repaired. The fairways and rough were both good, well maintained, usually lush, occasionally thin.

The sand traps were excellent, well maintained with deep, fluffy sand.

Customer service in the pro shop making the tee time and paying/getting out was excellent. Well worth $16 to walk twilight, I'll play here again.

1st time playing here. Played the blues 6318/70.0/123 with 2 very nice seniors from their Men's Club in around 4 hours. Early bird rate of $30 before 9A to walk.

Not a tight course overall, but it has a few very tight holes. Definitely is a shot makers course, several doglegs encourage you to turn the ball to get it in good positions to shoot @ a flag from a particular side of the fairway.

Clear, fairly windy day. A deceptive part of this layout is that due to it's location it is likely to be windy to very windy... I would have went in a couple of lakes on the front w/o some excellent local knowledge to "play it 20 yards farther than you think it calls for because of the wind" twice from my playing partners when I was playing into the wind... because it didn't SEEM like I was into that much wind because several holes are kind of down in a valley, so it appears relatively calm and not nearly as windy as it actually is until you launch your ball above the tree lines.

Interesting layout, you start with a medium par 4 and then a short par 4 with water... then go par 5, par 3, par 5, par 3 and finish with three par 4's on the front. Some water and hazards to avoid, but pretty straight forward.

The back nine is definitely the harder of the two nines in my opinion. The previous review of QV's version of "amen corner" on holes 12-14 was accurate... start with the longest par 4 on the course with hazard and OB left, follow it with the longest par 3 on the course, then finish it with a tight par 4 with trouble all around... and all three holes had some of the most severely sloping greens on the course.

Speaking of the greens, they were very nice. Smooth, medium fast, they held shots well with very few ball marks.

Both the rough and fairways were nicely maintained and lush. I wasn't in any sand, but it looked to be well maintained as well.

The tees were generally good, but not of as high a quality as the rest of the course.

Everything about this course was good to very good. I liked the course layout and the customer service was a ++ from the pro shop to the snack bar. I will definitely be back!

Teed off @ 636A on a great internet deal of $30 to walk. Played the blues (71.0/134/6307) with Longtee400 in 4h, 15m.

Facilities are top notch, they have a very nice snack shop and a well stocked pro shop. The course exceeds expectations in every area.

I like the layout with five par 5's and five par 3's. There are a couple of par 5's that are layup holes and even though they are slightly less than 500 yards, few players could reach them in 2 shots because of native marsh areas you have to play short of. While there may not be a single hole that makes you do a WOW double take after seeing/playing it... there isn't anything close to a bad golf hole on this course in my opinion.

The traps had nice sand & they were VERY well maintained. Plenty of rakes and every trap looked to have been freshly raked.

The primary rough is uniformly cut in the 2 to 3"range, generally you will have a good lie. The issue for shots more than a little offline is that on many holes there isn't that much distance from the primary rough to the native grass &/or protected habitat areas, were a ball is gone, not even worth looking. Knee to waist deep marshland in many cases. While OGA is not a super tight course, there is a decent amount of OB lurking to nail you with any wild shots, plus a generous amount of tall trees.

The fairways were lush with very few divot marks. The ball rolled well if you play low trajectory shots and the lies were almost always good.

The tees were the weakest area of the course, but still excellent. A couple lean downhill and some of the par 3's had many recently repaired divots.

I saved the greens for last. They were pristine, fast & firm. The pro shop said they were rolling at about a 10.5 to 11... they seemed faster. If you had a downhill or side hill putt, we had several putts lip out that were seemingly nicely paced to die at or just past the hole... that left 4' to even 7' putts coming back. They were almost scary quick if you were on the wrong side of many pins. There were several greens that had alot more break than we could see in reading them in the early a.m. shadows and sun glare... playing 9" of break on a 15 footer when 3' was more accurate happened a couple of different times with our group.

Overall, any course would be hard pressed to out do the conditions we experienced today.

Played the blue tees (71.4/127/6525). Got a great mid-day internet deal of $22 to walk, played with Longtee400 @ 11:49. We waited a few shots on the front 9 playing behind a senior 4some, but got around in about 4H, 20M.

The greens were firm and relatively fast. They putted true and were smooth, but were almost TOO firm. Both iron & chip shots rolled alot more than you would normally expect, hardly no ball marks anywhere.

The fairways had been recently vericut and had top dressing on them, but were very playable. Nice to see a course putting that much work into their fairways, I'm sure they will go from very playable to great later in the summer.

The tees were generally lush. We were playing after a men's club tournament, so they probably had higher than average play today, which could have accounted for several par 3's having a higher than average amount of unfixed divots.

The first cut of rough is well maintained & is 2" - 3"... if you hit an errant shot, you hope the first cut catches your ball, because beyond the 10 yard or so 1st cut lies native grass that is anywhere from hardpan, to ankle deep, to knee deep, to waist deep in some places. We had a couple of lies in the native area where we could only advance the ball 20-40 yards with a wedge, one ball was completely unplayable & a couple of balls were lost in the higher stuff. Errant shots off the beaten path will be severely penalized here...

Every facet of the course was in good condition today, but the best part of the course was their many sand traps. Nice sand and VERY well maintained.

Customer service was a ++, except for shooting one of my worst rounds in years (my fault, not the course), a great experience.
