How lucky we are to have such a facility in our ‘backyard’.
Pristine conditions all around. And the layout; well, everything you want and need from any tee.
Greens firm and quick; not holding but smooth.
Both of us enjoyed our 4 hours from 0609 this morning and were well looked after.
Never gets tired looking at every hole/every shot. Magic.
BTW, proudly displayed in the pro-shop is the GK 2012 Award for Best Conditions.

A absolute pleasure and delight to tee it up with Skygolf76, Fabio, and Shazza this morning from 0730 for 4.5 hours of solid golf on one of Arnie's superb creations.
All the way from Italy these two fine gents came and played their 4 rounds in the two days (ouch) in the desert, (four courses).
Classic did not disappoint. Very lush conditions tees through greens, expertly manicured and trimmed. The greens are in their summertime condition, with the ground beneath the grass showing. It can not be cut any lower due heat, but it did not affect the pace on the ball, which rolled very true, and fast (stimp 12??) They were also extremely firm, with some brown patches showing, but still smooth and quick.
Love the layout, the service, the prac-fac and challenge, and this time of year, the price.
Worth it.

Other than 1/4" tines holes in the greens (no effect on putting), a superb presentation on a solid layout for 4 hours of morning golf.
Coring of fairways and tees started this afternoon, and should be back to complete status in about a week.
Firm fast greens, perfectly manicured approaches, collars, fairways, and rough, with deep fluffy sand is what one would expect from a club of this calibre.
Love the clubhouse and superb staff, with the expansive prac-fac for warming up, makes a 'day at the club' an absolute treat.

Just 2 of us from 0700, quiet day, finished at 1000. Old school Palm Springs course with history dripping from the walls inside an expansive clubhouse. Nice staff throughout. Did not see the range, but 2 practice greens out back.
Overall very average layout and conditions. Sand was perfect, tees are fine, rough under an inch, greens/collars nicely groomed and quick pace, soft and smooth. Fairways fast and firm; easy to hit from. Layout resembled a muni, with open tee shots, and run-up or fly on approaches; your choice. Sufficient water stations, drinks cart, and marshaling made it our 'tick in the box' round.

As a first timer here, I witnessed an amazing example of architecture and innovation of design while truly enjoying hitting each shot. Quite the vistas from everywhere of surrounding mountains and hills (ok a few houses too). May 13, 2pm, Shazza and I had the pleasure of teeing it up with Addictedtugolf and Gadgetgirl; such a pleasant afternoon.
Nice staff throughout, good prac-fac, all grass range. Most on course grasses are lush, with a mixture this time of year of bermuda, rye and even poa. Tees are very 'experienced', with sparse areas to find good footing (white tees). Fairways were quick (2pm), mown nicely and easy to hit from, and lots of filled divots. Rough was lush rye, and varied in length all over the course with a few bare patches. The bunkers I was in today were good, for the most part, but there were some sizable pebbles in a lot of them. The greens complexes are inviting and pleasing to look at. Perfectly manicured approaches and collars, with the designing of classic Curley/Schmidt contouring and lurking danger. Soft enough to hold a shot, medium to fast pace with bumps and lots of un-repaired ball marks. Reading them was quite tricky due to the mixed salad of grasses displaying various shades of green.
I loved the layout for the 4+20 that we played, was thankful for the ample water stations (no drinks cart today), and grateful to addicted for his guidance around the course. Worthy of the greens fee and a return.

Just two of us today, 1130 tee time and 3+30 pace, on a quiet day, but still good service and drinks cart attendance.
Bermuda is coming alive on course, in fairways, rough and tees. All grass lush; rough one inch, fairways running long, greens firm and not marking with medium fast pace. Sand was terrific. Good manicuring and maintenance throughout. Nice resort layout with sufficient challenge and pleasant vistas. Very enjoyable with deals this time of year.

Other than the greens being cored last week, not a bad presentation. Tees also had core holes.
Fairways fast, rough AT one inch and lush, all sand good, layout made for a cruising couple of rounds (6.5 hours 2 rounds) from 11:00 May 6, on a cool desert day. Good Troon service throughout.
Wait until mid May for greens to heal.

Immaculate. First off 0630 May 6, 2 ball, 3+30 pace. No faults found.
Smooth, true, holding greens, with perfectly mown collars and approaches.
Fairways fast and everywhere had lush grasses. Gary closes 4 days a week starting June.
Go Play.

Of these two courses, the North is favored for layout and conditioning. Today from 0800, a packed field took 5+20 to finish on a beautiful Saturday with just hints of a breeze. The greens are much better shape than the South; just as smooth, but much softer and holding better. Presentation is very good and what a challenge it is from any tee. Fairways quick, sand good green side. Excellent manicuring throughout. Same issues as below by sixpez on a couple of fairways.
Good service all day.

Four ball off at 0830 during a tournament round, and slow going even though it was a scramble; 4+50.
Overall good conditions throughout. Greens are dry and mostly crusty, but strangely enough held most shots with their moisture. Rolling smooth, and fairly fast as well.
Fairways are fast and firm, sand good greenside, more like waste areas along the fairways. Tees good, rough lush and sensible length. Very attractive manicuring around the greens complexes. Loved the layout and solid challenge with good customer service. BYO water, and stop in at the grill after.
Playing North Saturday 5/4.

Other than the fairways being cored (3/4"holes), the course is in overall very good condition. There were some bare brown patches on a few greens, but smooth rolling, medium speed and firm throughout. Rough and sand were good and easy enough to hit from.
Good staff, fair layout and sub 4 hour round made the noon tee time an easy go today. For the super twilight rate we paid, worth it.
Be reminded; no range-only nets, chipping area and a putting green. I suggest bringing your own water, as drink stations are few. No drinks cart today, but it is very quiet.

Could not resist the super twilight rate Monday 4/29 and teed off at 3:10 with just the two of us. Finished around 7:30: $14
Hot. Dry. Fast. Crusty.
Sixpez below nails it. These two tracks are underrated. The North is an amazing example of golf architecture and engaging flow in desert golf.
Overall-Good conditions. Some dry areas, sure, but softish greens held well, were true, with few bumps, but lots of un-repaired ball marks; shame.
Greens complexes were eye catching, if not breath taking, lush and well manicured. Some bermuda is blooming, but not a factor. Fairways fast, sand good, tees ok, rough still lush.
Certainly enough challenge for any golfer from the ample tee selections.
Best to BYO water, as drinking stations are few.

North closes June 10.
