Play April 2nd. Course is in decent shape compared to when I played here a month ago. Fairways are hard and fast. For a short course the greens made it a real challenge to score well.

played 2/14 on a sunday morning. pro shop got us out on time. tee boxes were below average with bare spots and even lies; some divots too. the fairways were thin in many places sometimes hard dirt.... Continue »

played 2/14 on a sunday morning. pro shop got us out on time. tee boxes were below average with bare spots and even lies; some divots too. the fairways were thin in many places sometimes hard dirt. the green as usual were slow although smooth with some ball marks. bunkers had hard packed sand. pace of play was 5 hrs plus. price not that steep but still seem cheated.

very cool older course. a pretty simple layout, with a fairly cramped structure to it. holes three and eight actually have a shared tee box!

greens were in good condition, and it was fairly lush and well taken care of. the traps were nice, as well. the tee boxes were pretty bad...they just need to be rolled, i think. stamp the tee boxes down, and you've got a great little course to be really proud of. a great course for walking.

Played 1/31/10 with Platopar. Greens were in excellent condition with good pace. The fairways are spotty since the bermuda goes dormaint this time of year. Tee boxes are uneven and worn and need some LTC. Typically Sunday golf of 5.5 hours, but it was a sunny day and we had ample time to finish. The more I play here the more I appreciate the greens. They have plenty of slope, some are raised and the green side traps can be deep with steep lips. Local rumor has legend that Gene Sarazen won a golf tournament here years ago.

This is one of those "it is what it is" courses. You can always get on fairly easy. We played on Monday morning after the rains and the course was in better shape then I thought it would be, not as much mud as i thought there would be. The fairways were thin as well as the rough. Sand was packed down a little because of the rains last weekend, but were still very playable. The bunkers on this course is the only real hazards on the course, some can be very deep with huge lips. The greens rolled surprisingly well. Very easy course to walk and if you aren't expecting a bunch from this course, then you won't be disappointed. Pace of play Monday morning was great, finished in under 4 hours.

Have not played Willowick in over six months, and when I played it on 10/21, I was very pleased with the condition of this course. It was in much nicer condition than a lot of other local ones (higher priced) that I have played over the months. The greens were exceptional, the fairways were good. Pace of play was excellent -- 4-1/2 hours -- and there were a lot of people on the course. Bunkers are still brutal, and I wish courses would have practice bunkers just like those.

Played Friday, 8/7. The greens are in excellent shape. They rolled well with medium speed and held shots. The fairways are decent with a few thin spots. The rough and bunkers are good. The tee boxes are good to poor. Some tee boxes are far from level. The low green fees always makes Willowick worth a play.

Played 7/31/09 for $18 for twilite as a walker as a twosome with Plautopar. The course was in fantastic condition- both the greens and fairways. The twosome and threesome in front of us played most of the holes as a fivesome with five carts! However, their pace of play was not bad and we finished in 4 1/2 hours. The pace of play benfits from a course where lost balls are infrequent for players of all abilities. While not a strong challenge, the price and conditions makes this an enjoyable place to enjoy a relaxing round of golf. Their is no cartgirl and limited drinking water on the course, so come well prepared for the weather. The staff is friendly, especially at the 19th hole.

I thought the greens were very good, smooth, fairly quick, receptive to receiving shots. Given the overall condition of the rest of the course, the greens are out of character, with the rest of the course somewhat ill-kept. This is just a simpy, easy, "walk in the park" place that I play maybe once a year, because it is proximate to somewhere I have to be at that date. Alwats busy, but easy to get on at "first light" Staff is very accomodating
