Had not played Indian Hills in a couple years, what happened the place is 100% better. Kikuyu grass has fairways full for the most part and lies are great. Greens coming out of punching will be good to go in another week. Traps around greens have sand just a bit thin, fairway traps more like hard pan with little give. Course has been cleaned up a lot and the Kikuyu grass has filled in the fairways and tee boxes (tee boxes are not level on many holes have to be a little generous with your tee location)., all in all would recommend going back out there if you have not played it in years as we had, very green right now and for a low end public course it is as good as I have played this year., (was amazed it is in much better shape than course down the street Jurupa Hills which used to be better, not now).

Haven't been here in over a year. There are fewer bare areas
and presentation is very decent.
Layout is always a bit challending with multiple elevation
changes and slopes.
Due to them and Jurupa raising rates, haven't been inclined to
play here as often as I once did. I know "everyone has raised rates"!
I'll be back within the next year.

Out in the dark on a very windy morning. Consistent winds 20+ mph. Scott in the shop was great deal with. I thought they had just punched greens, but as it turns out, only #8,#11 & #14 were punched with HEAVY sand. I could see where several holes holes had been punched previously, but other than the 3 referenced holes, the greens putted fine, EXCEPT that there are a lot of bare areas on the greens. Where there is grass, they were good, but there was just so many bare spots!

Fairways were thin. Not really grass covered, more or a weed. Both bunkers I found were wet compacted sand. Tee boxes are very beat up. It's actually kind of sad, because I can see they are making an effort to maintain this place, but it's just not nearly in the condition it used to be.

As I traveled this course, I remembered always walking here, but now I do not think I would even make the attempt. Father Time sure has a way of prevailing in more ways than just robbing me on what little length I had.

Grass around the greens was cut nice and you could chip but run off just a little and you had to gouge the ball out as the rough was at least 6 inches and sometimes even hard to locate the ball if you missed the green on your approach shot. Maybe gas is expensive and that's why the 6 inch rough or more.

While not overly difficult, there is enough challenge to keep your interest. (Hole #9 excepted which is far more golg hole than I have game for)

Greens rolled better than expected, with decent speed. Fairways had decent coverage, rough was inconsistent. The two bunkers I found had thin raked sand. Tee boxes a bit chewed up. The staff here is always pleasant and accommodating. It's nice to interact with staff which have a positive attitude. Recommend this course

Played Indian Hill CC 1/29 at noon from the whites in mild temps and no winds. It's been 25 years since I last played here, so I decided that day needed to be even more interesting and fun, and showed up with 13 vintage clubs that I would have wielded back then. Glad I did, as this course rewards a conservative 'just put it in play' game, with generous rollout. Uncle Jimmy and I, were paired with brothers-n-law & gentlemen golfers, Chris and Ian from Eastvale. There was a full tee sheet and parking lot, but check in and starter had us off on time.

Tees are small, show more divots than usual, probably because many had the same game plan using more woods and long irons. Otherwise, decent shape.

Fairways are winter thin, and some areas with spotty coverage, but have playable turf interaction right now. Your shots will run, up and downhill, be mindful.

Rough is 50/50 and kept trim, no balls will be lost in it. You'll find much less along fairways and more around greens; but be warned & don't expect a lot of shot saving grace from it.

Bunkers, are all pretty shallow and a mix of sand/dirt. They are fairly dense and yet there's give. You will commonly find the ball sitting up. I was expecting worse.

Greens still show visual evidence of healing from fall punching, yet, roll pretty quick and true. They are on the smaller side, with subtle ridges, planes and tilts. Many pin placements were tough today. They accepted shots well, and since they're small, the more backspin the better.

We saw the drink cart twice. The cafe and bar were open and staffed. We enjoyed libations afterward with Chris and Ian. They enjoyed seeing me wield some old sticks today, better than expected. I offered the 1 iron to anyone who wanted to try it out...no takers! On 16, the 1 iron was our long drive from the tee, and left me with a 110 yard approach from the middle of the fairway...I told you there's generous runout! It's all fun, and reccomended at this time.

First time back at Indian Hills in three years....course is well worth fees....would say it has been kept up sense last time here and vary playable conditions..we teed off at 9am as a two sum and pulled out of the parking lot at 12:00 as only two four sums in front of us and BOTH kindly ask us to play thru. No driving range may be why their sister course down the hill (Jurupa Hills) gets way more play...a par 70 with some very fun up hill and down hill (way down hill) holes...Number 9 is the bear...437 from white tees with a large pond about 180 yards right in front of tees, hitting left of pond hole plays even longer. all in all well worth playing...

It's been about 2 months since I played here so I went out yesterday 7/30 hoping for the better, I got the worse. Not sure why they just don't fill in the bunkers and make them grass bunkers, they have never been any good. Greens were inconsistent and bumpy. Guess I'll wait for another 2 months and give it another try. Someday it will be nice again as it was 4-5 years ago.

Played Friday may 14th at 8am, everything open, relaxed check in, tees boxes better than last time, fairways good with a few brown spots, was in 3 bunkers and while the sand wasn't lush, it was playable and I actually got out the first time on all 3, and there were rakes in the bunkers, greens are all recovered and rolled nice. Saw beverage cart 3 time. Feel of course is it is back before covid, very relaxing, can eat, liberal on mask wearing and I felt very comfortable there. I think our group will be playing here more often.
