Played on 11/10 with 3 other frinds for the first time. Fairways and greens in great shape. Greens very fast - which I like- but some cups were positioned in middle of slope so either sink it or watch it roll 10-15 feet past. I hate that a good lag putt that should stop within a foot keeps rolling way past because of a ridiculous hole placement. Also for $94 you would expect GPS on carts - I play $40 courses that have GPS. Too much time wasted hunting for sprinkler heads and guessing yardages when you are off the fairway.

Played today 11/09 as a twosome for the first time. It took us about 4 hours to play. The staff was very friendly. I really like the course design. The scenery was awesome with a lot of old trees and rolling hillside surrounding the course. La Purisima was very hilly. You have holes where you are hitting up or hitting down. Course can be difficult to walk. Today the wind was really blowing which makes it more difficult to play. Being November, I was surprised the fairways and greens were in great shape. It was difficult for us to play since on most of the holes, we didn't know what direction the holes went. Some holes had severe doglegs. Course demands a lot of accuracy. If we're ever in the area again, we will be back to play again.

Finally made it to 'La Phirana', not quite the beast I expected but what a beauty. Surreal weekday morning: fog burning off after sunrise, I'm the only one out, deer crossing fairways, WOW, a course which will produce fond memories (other than the double bogey on #9 :) It is a gorgeous, challenging track with no houses lining fairways, it's walkable (if you're in shape for it), a friendly staff, and well maintained. Gotta get back here with some buddies ... someday soon.

Unbelievable golf course. I played this course 9/27 while visiting So Cal. I drove up the coast 2 hours and couldn't be happier that I did. Super layout. Very good course conditions. Beautiful, peaceful setting. I can't say enough about the design. I sure hope I get to make it back someday. Must play!

As always, a day at La Purisima is among the truest tests, and best treats, in golf. While other courses are struggling through the end of summer to maintain top conditions, La Purisima is in great shape. Greens are rolling beautifully and though some seemed a little bit firmer than others, speeds were very consistent green to green. This course definitely rewards good shots and you can play it aggressively in spots, but you pay a very high price for trying hero shots in the wrong places. It's hard to imagine finding a better examination of your golf game anywhere. You owe yourself a trip to La Purisima - and when you go, make sure you're ready to think your way around the course and have your game thoroughly tested. You'll definitely find a spectacularly beautiful golf course and a day you'll not soon forget.

I started playing golf about 10 years ago and this was the only course I knew for the first 5 of those years. It is certainly a wonderful course, and I have begun to understand that more and more the more courses I play. I don't know if they still do, but when I was playing there as a junior i could play for $2 on weekdays and $5 on weekends. Talk about a quality for your green fee. I would play almost everyday in the summer. So I've played this lovely course close to 500 times and everytime it challenges me in a different way. I have found that if you can play well here you can pretty much play well anywhere. If your shooting under 80 here, you've got some game!!

A great challenging and scenic layout that's off the beaten path with hardly any distractions except it can get a little windy.Be careful of that tree in the middle of the fairway on the 1st par 5 on the back nine- didn't like that layout since I hit a great drive down the middle right at it & I have to layup around it!
