I played Rio Hondo on a Sunday late morning. The pace of play was not bad, considering we were a fousrome behind a fivesome. The entire course was in good shape considering the amount of play I'm sure... Continue »

Played this morning (at) 5:56am, a twosome. Went out after the very first twosome. For the price, a very challenging narrow golf course. All areas in real good shape. Played in just over

I play there every thur. morning. played yesterday course in fine shape, I would have to say the greens have been a little slow lately, but I blame that on early morning play 6am course tends to be wet. [[Edited by burk48 on Friday September 4, 2009 5:02 PM]]

Easy par 4 "if" you play it smart. Driver is not the play here since you will probably have a tough chance to get it up and down on this tough green (I'm a 5 handicapper, trust me). Best chance for birdie is a 5 iron off the tee, this takes the bunker on the left out of play leaving you about 100 yds to the pin. The green slopes severely from back to front, so hit your approach past the pin and the slope will take care of the ball back to the pin. If you spin the ball alot with your wedges, hit a 3/4 shot to reduce your spin on your approach.

Easy par 3, usually plays about 185 yds from the tips. If you can work the ball approach the green from right to left, you can usually get an up and down from that miss. Left and short will challenge you with a nice big bunker. The greens slopes from right to left. If you see a RED flag, aim at the center of the green for an easy par or a birdie if you put it close.
