The greens were not in as good condition as I remember. Appears they are having a few issues with them, but also looks like they are working on it. Fairways are as tight as ever, allows for lots of roll, but you better be a good ball striker to "nip" them off these tight lies. Staff was excellent.

This course is having a tough time aging. People have noted sand on the greens, but, these are large areas, not just a few inches here and there that are sanded. Large gaps on the greens with no grass... Continue »

This course is having a tough time aging. People have noted sand on the greens, but, these are large areas, not just a few inches here and there that are sanded. Large gaps on the greens with no grass and just sand. Greens are also really slow and a bit bumpy right now as they try to fix the situation.

Also, many of the cart paths have cracks running straight up the middle of them. It really is not a bother driving, but, I can only imagine the pain it will be to fix all of them. They will just get worse with time.

One of my favorite OC courses. I hope they fix the greens soon.

Played 7am shotgun and finished before the heat and wind picked up - the conditions the afternoon group probably faced. Fairways were in excellent shape, but not much rough and some of the greens had large bare spots and were sanded. It is hard to believe they would put the pins in these areas of ongoing repair work! #2 is still one of the toughest par 4's in OC!

Played at 7:00 this morning. Tee times were about one time behind already. Played in about 4:15 so it wasn't bad. Greens had a lot of sand on them in spots. Difficult to putt through six feet of 2 inch sand onto smooth green then through sand again. I've never liked the fairways here. Like concrete and very tight. Lots of roll though if you need it.
I will only play here cause I have a buddy who likes and it is geographically accessible for us. Otherwise not my favorite place to play. They are also charging $65 during the week. Not worth it.

Our foresome tee'd off at 8:18 am, on Labor Day, 9/1, and the fairways are in excellent condition, the tee boxes are nice, and most of the greens were in great condition. There were some brown spots on a couple of the greens, but it did not effect the roll. The layout of the course is nice offering views on a lot of the holes; however, expect some undulation on some of the holes. This is definitely a fun course; there's OB surrounding all the holes, making it more challenging, yet fun because of the generous fairways.

Played Sun 8/17 afternoon...pretty dead on the course. Bad thing was we only say the cart girl 1 time the whole day..and that was on the 4th fairway.

Make sure you stay on the fairway...or the OB is going to kill you and the Fairways,while green, were still very hard in some areas.

Course is in ok shape. Fairways are tight, brown and dry. They were trying to keep them wet on this hot day but it resulted in muddy patches when the carts were on the fairway. Greens are still a little shaggy from punching. Rolling bumpy and slow.

At $90+ on a weekend, still pretty pricey for this quality.

I want to be fair, given the fact we are in the middle of winter and have had periods of no rain and then lots of rain. Also lots of days with frost. That said, I know the fairways are dormant here, and that allows the ball to roll and roll, but they are sure tough to hit from such a tight lie. Even the lady we play with who plays on the Future's Tour thought the lies were too tight. The greens were NOT good. Too bumby! Really difficult to make anywthing with the greens being so unsmooth. Generally the greens here are much better, so I hope the weather is to blame. Still had a great time. The staff was wonderful.
