I just played at Arroyo Trabuco a few hours ago. It's Sunday and the pace of play was very good. I think that the green fees are a tad high at $95. If they cost was $75, I'd play here rather than Shorecliffs or Willowick (which are cheaper).
The staff was great and very frinedly.
I'll certainly be back. With a better price, I'd be back more often

Played 36 holes on 9/27. They're preparing to punch the greens so they were pretty soft and saturated which really affected the afternoon round. Too many footprints and sanded ball marks. Afterward, cart dude said the greens were rock hard and not holding a little over a week ago, so that might be their normal setup. Can you say ESA??? They are in play on every hole. If you tend to hit big tee shots offline here and there, check your club selection. I recommend a yardage book, the GPS is the little text box type but does give yardage to the stick. A few holes had fairways at a 40-50 degree angles from the tee so the book really helps (so does a nice powerfade). Nice layout through the arroyo then the barren hills. They have water coolers every few holes at the white tees, not the blues. The turn is at the furthest point from the clubhouse but the cart girls came around plenty of times.

Played twilite 8/14 and worth the $52 greens fee. Course plays more open then appears from the tee, but the close-in "environmental areas" can mean plenty of lost balls. However, it plays as a lateral hazzard. Drop zones are not always well marked. Greens are large and sloping. While the greens were slightly sanded, they played true but very firm. Will come back soon as this is the best priced quality public golf in course in the OC.l

Nice course for the price, we played after 3pm it was $55 and we got our round in just under 3.5 hours. I would golf thier again, however not much to look at.

Maybe its just me but I didnt think there was much grass in the fairways the ball runs another 20-30 yds after the bounce. On the first tee box there were divots all over the place why I don't really know. Secondly, there were all kinds of divots marks on the green. As we played, the tee boxes were not as bad as I thought, but the greens were hammered with divots marks. Doesen't anybody fix these marks at this place? The greens are also very firm. Not really fast, but not slow. The course played ok, I just did not care for it. I guess you really don't know what the course is like untill you play it. It is in a nice setting but a little overpriced, in my opinion.

Played in the afternoon on 5/12 for the first time. The course is in excellent condition throughout. The problems with the course remain solely with the players who do not repair the greens or fill in fairway divots...It's a real shame. The POP was a little over 4.5 hrs, would have been quicker except for the beginners in front of us. Overall an exceptional course that is challenging...you must hit your spots! Would reccommend.

Showed up and was told they did not have my tee time?? They asked if I had played on 4/17/07 - no! They advised that Weber was a no show that date and the address and credit card number was not mine, so that person was charged. Back to my problem, they did not have me down and no openings until 3:12. Unacceptable, however since it was obvious it was their error, they "worked us in actually ahead of schedule" due to I guess another no show? Kudos to the staff for correcting their error! The course, well as anyone who plays here knows, thin rock hard fairways that run forever. Decent greens, still recovering from recent punching. Overall the course was in Ok condition.

Played for the first time on Sunday and ... well, let's just say it's not the first OC course on my list, but not the last. Kinda so-so. Layout: short course considering the roll you get on the short/dry bent grass fairways (see previous comments); super large greens with pitch marks everywhere; some twists and turns to keep you awake. Condition: fairways were marginal, at best, but the tee boxes were excellent. Greeens were big, not too difficult to read. Challenge: lots of balls roll back into the middle of the fairway or on the green when they should not. Wide fairways, too, you can't help but score well (see previous comments). Altogether, ok to play with buddies and drink a few beers but if you want a quality golf experience try some of the other more challenging courses in the OC. Might try it again in the spring when/if the grass turns green ... or not.
