Rode the Blues (6197/69.9/122) twilight. Roughly 2.5H POP, the course was not busy. Sunny and breezy around 95. Fun to play layout in good condition with 18 solid holes of golf. Good mixture of holes with few forced carries. Often one of the better values in the greater Palm Springs area. Tees mostly lush, level and decently maintained for divots. Fairways lush and good to play from. Rough a mixture of grasses with decent coverage mowed low. Even though not much taller, noticeably different lies from barely in the fairway to barely in the rough. Sand traps decently maintained and freshly raked. Some could use more sand. Large greens putted smooth and medium fast. Firm, no one is consistently backing up balls on these greens. Few ball marks because of their firmness. Customer service excellent from everyone encountered. Upgraded carts equipped with Shark Experience GPS. No on course drink cart here, but they provide a full ice chest and drink cups. Recommended.

Rode the Blacks (6642/71.9/127) on a GN Hot Deal mid day as a single. 2.5H POP, only saw a couple of other 2somes. Sunny and calm around 95. Tees were lush, level and well maintained with few divots. Fairways were lush and nice to play from. Rough is a thinner mixture of grasses with decent coverage. Not tall but can be penal because the lies will vary so much. Sand traps were decently maintained, a few could use more sand. They have rakes again. Greens were smooth and putted medium fast. Firm, so even well struck irons would release. Few ball marks because of their firmness. Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between multiple different residential complexes. All grass driving range is in the wash beside hole 9, where they also have a practice chipping green. Could use more water stations on the course, but they provide a stocked ice chest. The customer service is always excellent from everyone encountered. Upgraded carts equipped with Shark Experience GPS. Joe with the carts is always great, and the Pro Shop check in was friendly and efficient. I was running late, called ahead and was advised no problem. Rarely an on course drink cart here. Nice layout in good condition with 18 solid holes of golf. IMO, one of the better values in the greater Palm Springs area. Recommended.

Played on April 9 early afternoon as a practice round for a junior golfer. The starter said that the greens are one of the best around, and I have to heartily agree. The greens were just the right speed, not too fast or slow. It was easy to adjust to the green speed. They were also nice and smooth. The greens themselves aren't all that difficult, although some of the greens are two tiered or undulating and you will be challenged if you have end up in the wrong spot. Condition wise, these were country club level greens. The course itself is not too difficult. There always seems to be an out or safe area for each hole. Other than holes 1 and 9, the fairways are very, very wide open. The fairways were also in nice shape, beautifully green and lush, terrific lies for any fairway wood shots. The rough on the other hand is not a priority obviously. The grass is not bare but not the same as the fairways. In fact, the rough seemed shorter than the fairways, haha. Not a big deal since the fairways are so wide. The bunkers could use some more sand. I found myself using a wedge with lower bounce to deal with the hard dirt like bunkers. Not terrible though. The course is on the forgiving side but a few of the holes had water that came into play and bunkers that covered the front of the green. Having driven 2.5 hours to get there, I was stiff and not feeling great swing wise, but the beautiful conditions of the fairways and the fabulous greens made it an enjoyable day. I've recently played Industry Hills and Hacienda. Many of the holes at such challenging courses are brutally tough because you really need to know what the greens are like. Often, you'll get blind shots into greens. Fine if you're playing the courses frequently, but courses like Big Rock are fun too when the conditions are great. You can have fun the very first time you play, esp. when the fairways and greens are in such beautiful shape.

Rode the Blues (6197/69.9/122) on a GN Hot Deal mid day. Matched up with Nells, Chuck and Randy, 3 seniors who played quickly from the Whites. We each had a cart and played in 3H, 15M, and that included being held up the last 3 holes. Beautiful, sunny and calm around 85. Quasi CPO, you can drive in the rought but not the fairways currently. Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. The carts are equipped with Shark Experience GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between multiple different residential complexes. All grass driving range is in the wash beside hole 9, where they also have a practice chipping green. They could use more water stations on the course period, but all were closed under COVID restrictions. Overseeded tees were lush, level and well maintained with few divots. Overseeded fairways semi lush and nice to play from. If they keep carts off them another 10 days, they will be exceptional. Bermuda rough is not over seeded here and is mostly dormant. Mowed down and not overly penal. Good to chip out of. Sand traps were decent considering no rake COVID conditions. Mostly firm with medium texture brown sand. Over seeded greens putted medium speed and were firm, so even well struck irons would release. Few ball marks because of their firmness. Bermuda tees were lush, level and well maintained with few divots. Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from. Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not overly penal. Played the Blues (6197/69.9/122) in slightly more than 4H using Forelinx. The weather was partly cloudy, around 75 and windy. Matched up with Chris and Jeremy, on vacation from Oregon.

The over seeded tees were lush and well maintained. All but the par 3's were in very good shape.

The over seeded fairways were lush and played well.

The Bermuda rough is just long enough to grab your club where it is mixed with other grasses and just short enough to sometimes be hardpan where it is nothing but dormant Bermuda. The rough around the greens is very lush.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with medium texture brown sand.

The greens were smooth, firm & putted medium fast. Recent small tyne punch dies not affect putting. No severe slopes or tiers, I usually see the lines well on these greens.

The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. The carts are equipped with nice GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk. Numerous tees are a long way from the last green because the course is split up between multiple residential complexes. Fairly wide open layout with a good mixture of holes. Fun course to play. Recommended.

Rode the Blues (6197/69.9/122) in slightly less than 4H using Forelinx twilight. 80, calm and overcast. Paired with Victor and Gina vacationing from Vancouver. Fairly wide open layout with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. The tees were well maintained and lush. Few divots and I had no issue finding a level stance on all tees. The fairways were lush and nice to play from. The Bermuda rough is patchy, mowed down and not overly penal to play from. The sand traps are well maintained with medium texture brown sand. The greens putted medium fast and are firm, so even well struck irons would release. The customer service was excellent as usual here. Drink cart out making the rounds. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between three different residential complexes. The carts are equipped with nice GPS. Nice layout, but not a destination course. Solid course in good shape with a nice restaurent onsite. The tees were mostly lush, level and well maintained with few divots. The fairways were lush/firm, nice to play from. The Bermuda rough was mostly thin, mowed down and not overly penal. The sand traps were well maintained, mostly firm with medium texture brown sand. Only complain is inconsistent depths. The greens putted medium fast speed and were firm. Few ball marks because of their firmness. Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes.
