It's a hidden gem! A Ted Robinson, Sr. course design.
The 11th & 12th is a love it or hate it holes, but I loved it!
The front is tighter than the back.
There are some water in play.
There is also length.
The whole course is covered with green lush grass that are well cared for. I mean ALL- it is gorgeous to look at and imagine!
Not too, too much bunkerings but they are strategically well placed and from one that I was in, the sand quality was very good.
The teeing grounds were nice and level and there are plenty of space where it can be moved around for play and maintenance.
The fairways are in great-great shape.
And greens- oh, the greens are a surprise treat of all! They were smooth, fast, rolling true, and the surprise is that they were true bent grass. So healthy and lush. Receive shots in nicely. I just loved these greens.

#12 is a par 4 that demands a 200/200 shot because of the mountain or the hill that it's on. Yes, there is a bail out on both shots- on the right for the drive and left for approach. You'll see.
#11 is a big down hill drop from about a 190 out that played 150 for me. FUN!

Will definitely be back.

I remember a buddy telling me about this course a long time ago and how fun it was so I'm glad I finally got to check it out. Fairways and rough were very lush, I spent the majority of my time in the rough and though cut short it was still pretty tough to get out of. I was in two bunkers and both had great soft sand. Tee boxes were good except a couple were pretty hard to get a tee in the ground including one or two of the par 3's. Greens still shows signs of recent aeration but rolled smooth for the most part, I think only a couple greens were a slight bit behind in the healing process and a little bumpy. Layout was fun, most holes were pretty flat but slight doglegs and very well placed trees (I got to see many of them close up) water comes into play on only a couple holes and 10-12 were very fun going up into the hills, the layout on 11 is brutal and to a very tough green, I would like to play 11 a few different ways to figure out how to play it because I sure didn't play it the right way. Best thing of all was the semi-private club pace. We did wait a few times but considering a shotgun start with a Mens Club Tourney we still got around in 4hrs and 5mins. If your looking for a cheap fun round for the summer and don't want to drive all the way into La Quinta or Indio then you should definitely check this place out.

Played here this morning along with mnehls86. They were playing a shotgun this morning at 7:30 because of a men's club tourney going off. They do two shotguns a day here on weekdays and then sometimes on weekends, too. Seem to have pretty standardized tee times as a semi-private club, so I'd recommend calling ahead rather than trying to walk on. I think Matt and I were the only two non-members out there, but they gave us a great rate of $35 and we had fun playing amongst all the old timers and their tricked out personal carts. We started on 18th hole, and though we waited on the groups ahead of us a lot, we still finished in a little over 4 hours.

The course is in excellent shape right now. They had aerated the greens a few weeks ago, but they are healing nicely. Some bumps still on the greens, but mostly pretty smooth and relatively soft/receptive. The fairways were great. Grass maybe a tad long on them, but excellent lies all the way around. Rough is deceptively tough here. It's not deep at all and the ball always sits up, but the grass is super lush and thick, so it will grab your club and make you work. The bunkers had nice white sand and I found them nice to hit from. Tee boxes pretty level for the most part.

In my opinion, this is a great hidden gem in the Coachella Valley. Definitely feels off the beaten path a few miles north of the freeway on some sketchy roads, but worth it. Nice Ted Robinson Layout that is pretty challenging. Solid front nine winding through the neighborhood and then awesome (but super tough) back nine. Holes 10-12 are a complete departure as you go up into the hillside. Three very fun holes with spectacular views of the entire valley below. Rest of back nine flattens out and opens up, but plays quite long and will wear you down. I enjoyed this course a lot!

Overall GOOD condition, Great greens, fun layout with kind respectful golfers.
We teed off 0730; finished 1050. Warm up nets only.
Kind of resort style Robinson design, with 3 killer holes (10,11,12), engaging enough with moderate challenge.
Very nicely manicured, lush conditions tee through green, with superb sand in the bunkers. Tees and fairways were thin in a few spots, rough was lush and 2-4 inches, with great bent grass soft smooth greens of medium pace on this particular morning.
No GPS carts and few distance markers.
We had a Desert Golf mag ad for $25; this is valid until Sept 30.
Here they launch with Shotguns; 2 each day. AS it is a semi-private club, most golfers know each other, and the course, keeping the pace of play brisk. No cash is accepted at pro shop; unknown if it is in the grill.
NO drinks cart, lots of water stations though.
Worth it with a deal.

Played 2/13/2010 and 2/14/2010 Shotgun starts 7:30 and 12:30. Full course finished Saturday in 4 1/2 hrs. and Sunday in 4. Course is in great shape. Some beautiful signature holes that can be very challenging with huge elevation changes and stunning vistas. Wind is a problem on this course, but this weekend was perfect.
