Though we could have gone right back out on the Boulder course for our free replay round, sr129, mnehls86 and I wanted to check out the Pebble course. I always enjoy a nice par-3 course (there is one short par-4 here, but the rest par-3s) and looking at the card we could tell there was a pretty good variety of holes (from under 100 to over 200) to test our skills. WE got out right away and there were a handful of other groups out on the course. We still played at a nice clip at a little over 2 hours.

Condition-wise, Pebble is keeping pace with Boulder right now. The greens are nice, the fairways and rough are lush and mostly green. And the tee boxes aren't chewed up all. Even though this is a decent enough par-3 course, it just doesn't seem to get a ton of play if today was any indicator. There are only a handful of bunkers on the entire course and I didn't find one, but what I could see looked like they needed some work and some fresh sand. There were maintenance guys on the first hole working on the bunkers there, so I'd take that as a positive sign.

The 1st and 18th hole with the water in play are both fun and nice-looking holes. The rest of them kind of blend together. You go along and over the desert wash quite a bit. It would be more visually pleasing if there were more native grasses/bushes growing out in those areas. Most of the greens are pretty accessible without too much protection or challenge. It's a fun course for a warm-up round if you want to tune-up your iron play, and for the right price like we had (basically free) it was plenty of fun. Otherwise, I would recommend Shadow Hills North in Indio if you really want to experience the best of Palm Springs golf on a par-3-only track.

This is a very fun par 3 that plays long and has a good mix of interesting holes. Always seems a bit busier than Boulder. Conditioning is the same as they are basically side by side. Like Boulder, sand traps are my only gripe. Greens are phenomenal. Fast, firm, great roll. I like to do a round of the Boulder course then finish with this one. It's 36 holes, but not brutal. Customer service always good.

Ah, yeah, this Boulder course at Cimaron is something else. Links style, lots of open area and a generous landing area. It's been a while since we've visited here, but at this time, yesterday, was one of the best I've seen this courses conditioning. The greens were so smooth and rolls so true as the rye still co-exist with the Bermuda grass. Lush fairways and rough. . . almost no one out front and back of us all day. Beautiful and a fun course!

Adding to the review below, range now open, all grasses grown in beautifully and very lush throughout. Greens: magnificent- very quick, firming and smooth. Service very good and a fun track for every club in the bag (don't need driver/3 wood). Putt well.

If you want 3 hours of fun target practice, this is your course. 17 par 3s, one short par 4; all with extremely interesting greens that are not gimme 2 putts.
There are 2 courses at Cimarron; we played the Pebble Monday 24 Oct, short exec par 3 course as Boulder still closed for reseeding. Very impressed.
Range is also closed for now.
Every aspect of the course presented extremely well; lush, green, manicured with good maintenance and fun layout.
Greens were quick, true, firm and designed with contouring as a defense and are very large. Any rough is lush and thick but easy enough to hit out of. Sand was good, even though there were not that many bunkers.
Pick any tee, and be prepared to use ALL your clubs (I left driver/3 wood at home; added 2 wedges). Be aware you do not pass by clubhouse on a turn. There are a few water coolers on course; no drinks cart. Nice clubhouse/grill and all staff friendly.

Had to play a quick round, not to mention I needed a smaller easier exec course because my wife and ten year old son were playing. Was cart path only due to overseeding a liitle while ago. Nice little coarse. Very lush and the greens were nice, maybe a little slow due to to much watering. Had a great time and finished in about 3 hours. Only gripe is that there needs to be more diversity on the back nine. All par 3's. They could use a few 4's. Will be back!

Played this course on Thursday, March 4, 2010. Lots of fun and in great condition. This is an excutive 18 hole 3 par with one 4 par. Used most of the clubs in my bag and had a great time as did the other 3 people with me. Pace of play was great the course was challenging and in terrific condition. What a bargain for $24.50 each as a foursome. Mike
