Played Sunday, 2-12-17 on a very breezy, sometimes gusty morning. It was so great to see how green the course is. My last time there it was completely brown and dry in the heat of the summer. The fairways now are absolutely pristine from edge to edge. I haven’t seen turf that perfect since Ram’s Hill last year. The tee boxes are level with less divot damage than you’d expect on a par 3 course. The greens were extremely fast and firm enough to not make any new ball marks. Although short, the course is really fun with lots of undulations in the fairways and a few carries over the wash. It was a treat to see three very large and healthy-looking coyotes run right past me on the 14th hole. The only bad part was the slow POP - just short of 3 hours, waiting on every hole. I highly recommend the course in its current condition and look forward to playing again. It’s a great morning warm-up to an afternoon round.

After having finally used our old Under Par voucher at the Cimarron regulation Boulder course, we decided instead of using our replay for that track to play the never-before-played Pebble course, which is an 18-hole par 3 course with one par 4. It was so ridiculously hot and windy though that by the 12th or so I was ready to get out of there and head for some air conditioning. The Pebble course, much like the Boulder course, is likely an entirely different experience when it's being played in the cooler temperatures of winter and not at the tail end of a brutally hot summer. The course conditions are entirely reflective of that reality. The grass mostly everywhere is dried out and thin. There are a few decent areas on the first and last holes, but in between it's a lot of yellow and brown. The layout itself would be pretty fun in prime condition as it's a nice variety of par 3 hole lengths and there are some elevations (albeit slight) to navigate. The native areas, again like the Boulder course, are a shambles of rock, weeds and general awfulness. The tee boxes are dried out but level, and the bunkers have far too many small rocks and not enough sand in them for proper execution. But hey, you get what you pay for, especially this time of year. It's clear they're just letting it go ahead of the all-important winter season. The greens were also very bad - not so much in the coverage or the greenery, but they had been recently heavily sanded and quite a few punched as well. It was funny to watch a well struck tee shot puff up a cloud of sand reminiscent of watching Wile E Coyote at the bottom of a massive canyon after being tricked by the Road Runner yet again. Minimal amenities by the late afternoon there as well. No cart girl to be found and no water outside of the jugs near a few of the holes, but those saved us. Also was funny that when we dropped off the cart there was literally no one there working at all. No one. We had the entire 18 to ourselves while playing, and even got the cart barn too. So, in conclusion, this is a fun little 18 to dial in the short game but avoid it at all costs in its current state. Come back in a few months and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Greens were a little better on Pebble than on Boulder. I thought the course was in good shape for a short course. Except for the par-4 3rd hole, fairways rarely come into play here. It's all about the tee boxes, greens and rough around the green. Again, for the price we paid, no complaints.

Round 2 of desert marathon with Itslikeimsayin.

We decided to use our replay round on Pebble just to mix things up, though it would have been real easy to get back out on Boulder mid-morning. We moved along quickly until we caught a really slow twosome who seemed determined not to let us play through. Finally around the turn we had to force the issue and ask. Then they finally let us play through and we cruised after that.

Tee to green, Pebble is a little rougher around the edges than Boulder this time of year, but still pretty decent and playable for this late in summer. The one nice thing here is the greens were actually better because they either weren't aerated or were aerated sooner and fully healed. They rolled smoother and a little bit quicker than Boulder. It did seem like the holes had not been changed in a few days as they were ratty around the edges. Not too many bunkers on this course, but again good sand. Just a lot of pebbles and rocks, as the course name would suggest.

I never figured I'd play the Pebble course again, but it's an OK short course with a couple decent holes (1 and 18) and the rest of it just kind of blends together. In retrospect, if we knew we were going to play both courses here, it might have been better to play Pebble first as a little warm-up before Boulder. Oh well.

Played the Pebble course as part of a special package for both courses. First time playing here. Not all that impressed with either the course or conditions. The greens were actually better on this course than on the Boulder course.. That is not to say they were good, just better than the "big" course. Course was brown, with lots of scruffiness to be seen..

Enjoyed the experience as this course offered a nice variety of club selection. (Played the tips) Hit everything from sand wedge to driver - pretty cool! Course very empty so zipped around in well under two hours

All in all, definitely would play again for a quick round.

Top notch little short course that is in great shape. Very forgiving course that is great for those beginners or for somebody who wants to work on the irons and putting. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in fantastic shape. The greens are quicker than their sister regulation course next door - but still not too fast to be unfair. A quick round is under two hours and the back tees will test your long irons. Good course for the ladies or juniors who are just taking up the game of golf!

Spent last weekend in Palm Desert and got a chance for a quick round on Sunday. Most courses in Desert that you could see from the road have been overseeded but the Pebble was not and was in good condition. Greens and fairways in good shape but will be aerated later this month. Not a lot of customers at 7 AM so I ended up playing alone. Fun course to play and in less than 2 hours. Course has 17 par 3's and 1 par 4 but the par 3's range from 100 yds to 200 yds.

1st time playing here, played the blacks (3020/54.6) in 3 hours. Added bonus, it was with my adult daughter for her 1st round of golf on a "real" course. She actually made par on her 4th hole & hit the ball pretty well for a 1st time/anti golfer, I was impressed! Unbelievable Golfnow prepaid hot deal of $6.99 for unlimited twilight golf. She played 18, I played 36 in 5 1/2 hours total in breezy to very breezy hot conditions. It was a 1-2 club wind all afternoon. Really unique course, 17 par 3's and a single short par 4. I literally used all 14 clubs @ some point in the round, great variety of pars 3's. Three par 3 holes were 200+ yards from the tips, two were between 180-199, three were between 160-179, three were between 140-159, four were between 120-139 and two were less than 119. The par 4 was 315. The rough is really mowed down, making everything from a putter to a bump run, to a normal pitch to a flop shot viable around many greens. Many greens have huge mounds surrounding them where you will be faced with a severely uphill chip if you barely miss the green. The greens definitely showed signs of their recent aeration, were medium speed and usually bumpy. I found many to have deceptive breaks that were hard to see. The traps were nicely maintained with nice, fluffy sand. The fairways and rough were mowed tight & well maintained. A few tees showed divot damage, but considering there were 17 par 3's, not too bad overall. Customer Service was a +. Really liked the layout, away from homes and great on the course practice for every iron in your bag. I would definitely play here again.
