Played Tuesday 5/28, 6am, first off; $69 everyone pays senior rate special ($95 weekday rack); join their eclub for access to various specials they run. Played by myself, in a leisurely 2:50. Very nice holes in a funky layout. Green to tee on many hole were a 30-60 sec cart ride, with hole #13 taking like 2 minutes.. the cart path takes you from the 13 green to the 13 tee... like they only had 17 holes, and needed one more hole and decided, hey let's just put it here... but regardless, course in great shape, I had a blast. greens are in great shape, 11 on the stimp, staff friendly enough. carts had a touch screen gps... would play here anytime.

What a great little course in Carlsbad...The Crossings has it all...a good array of fun to challenging holes with great views...Course was in PERFECT shape..Practice facility was top notch...and I recommend the breakfast burrito....A perfect family getaway location due to Lego Land right next door (a place to sneak out from the family and get a round in)

I played midday on Easter Sunday and found the course in good condition overall. I got a $52 rate which was a great value. Although the course gives you the feeling of a higher end venue, I would be hard pressed to justify paying the rack rate. I might be nitpicking but I walked away feeling that the course conditions should've been better. The tee boxes were level and fairly lush. The fairways had many rolls, often leading to uneven lies which added to the challenge. The conditions of the fairways were decent but I found my ball resting in old divots several times. The greens were pretty good overall but some were a little bumpy. They were fairly firm and had tricky undulations making some putts very difficult to read. The greenside bunkers that I was in had good coverage with soft sand. I always get a love/hate feeling when I play this course. Part of this is due to the blow up holes that I always have on the back 9. While the front 9 is forgiving with ample opportunities to score, danger lurks on the back 9. Watch your approach shots! The cart girl came around several times and we made it around in about 5 hours. I'd recommend playing this course....especially if you want to test your game.

Played on Wednesday the 13th in the morning and the conditions were pretty good. Course is 3 weeks out of punching their greens and they are still a little bumpy and slow but healing nicely and should be pretty good in another week or two but there is more grass on the greens and they look a lot healthier than they did before they punched. The fairways were nice and had no bare spots, a couple of areas with heavy divots but that is to be expected on a few of the holes like 8 and 10 because everyone lays up to the same spots. Sand was excellent in all of the bunkers I was in. Customer service was great, saw the cart girl plenty and the before and after treatment was top notch. Great day of golf even if my score did not reflect it.

played 2/12, greens kind of inconsistent. some putt really true, some are very patchy, a few were way overwatered, otherwise, a nice, course to play, be ready to get some funny bounces, but, that is golf, bunkers were improved from my last visit, tees, also in better shape, course knowledge is key, especially where to aim to play your tee shots, always a challenge to play, join the Crossings Club if you play here , will save you some nice dollars on green fees, Thanks, CGG...

Played on Saturday the 12th in a tournament and the course was in pretty good shape. Those who don't like tight fairways will not like these, but they are in great shape and the parts that were a little haggered were marked GUR or roped off. The greens are fast right now but are fairly thin and show the footprints later in the day when we played. They still held lines pretty good but you did get a few bumps here and there. Sand was great as were the tee boxes. I hope this cold doesn't keep up for a long time because I think it affects every course and especially the greens. Customer service was great from checking in to the bar at the end of the round. Like this course more every time I play it.

Dec 31, Always fun to play here and today no exception. Good track big greens so choose accordingly your approach club. Many , many undulations. Especially if you are on the wrong side of the pin. Course is a fair test of golf with, wind, elevation changes, and big moving greens. We played after rains so greens were a little soft. We had some soggy fairways too but nothing to effect overall experience. pace of play was pretty bad though, We had an 11:50 tee time and didn't go off until 12:15. Rangers were on the course but didn't say much. Our gps told us we were 21 minutes behind pace of play and one ranger told us that wasn't too bad. We were only on the 4th hole!!!! All that said I would go back but I would book a time closer to 10:30 so i knew I could finish and actually see the 18th green.

Played late morning on Sunday 12/30/2012 on a cool generally sunny day interrupted by a 15 minute shower halfway through. It's been raining in SoCal off and on the past few days, but not that hard, and I don't understand why this course doesn't drain better, as it's all hills. Cart-path only today, which means a lot of hiking across fairways and up and down hills. There's also apparently a lot of clay in the soil, as the exposed dirt areas are wet and sticky. Because of these conditions, I didn't rate the course.

I played with GKers dhood84 and geddyl, who were having their first-round match in the South Region match play for GK Cup 4 - thanks to Derek and Paul for letting me accompany them. Involved starter got us out on time - tee times are a smart 9 minutes apart, and the course was not real crowded. The range was closed due to the wet conditions [why - can't we hit off mats?] so topping the initial tee ball into the canyon is always fun.

Course conditions were generally good - greens were pretty soft and receptive but rolled well at medium speed, and faster toward the ocean. Fairway lies were generally thin and the ball sat down. Rough was wet but not long. Sand traps also wet and packed from rain. Most holes are surrounded by ESA areas that eat balls if you get offline (played as a lateral hazard). With all the hills, path only, and hazards around the holes, POP was 5 hours.

Some nice touches: plenty of replacement containers for divot sand are scattered around the course, so I hope golfers will use them. On the back nine, the many bridges across creeks and canyons (the "Crossings") are very attractive. The rebuilt 18th green is much more playable, although currently very firm as it's a new green, and doesn't hold shots as well as the other greens.

Recommended, but I'm not coming back if there's a chance of paths-only.

Played Crossings Wed 7th November. Started off ok - there seemed to be a lot of water on the course - particularly 18th. The back nine left a lot a blind shots which makes the task of the 1st timer a lot more difficult. We all hit good second shots to the 18th - only to find all of them out of bounds over the green. The course was in Ok shape without being brilliant. After our game (we teed off at 11.50) we went to the clubhouse for something to eat to find that the restaurant did not offer steaks (one of our party only eats steak!)
