Made the drive out to Rustic and played on 10/14 due to the last review by GDR23 and totally agree about the conditions. The only thing different is the condition of the tee boxes. They were punched on 10/5 and still need some time but are very playable.
I wish this course was closer to me so I could play more often. We had a 7:20 tee time and I paid the senior rate of $35 + a $16 cart fee. I my opinion $51 for this course is a great deal.
Standard covid precautions in place with limited people in the pro shop, only a window open in the restaurant. No rakes on the course and foam in the cups.
Pace this early was 3:50 but i did notice quite a few players through out the course behind us

Walked the blues this afternoon 10/3/2020 for a 9 hole playing lesson teeing off at 3:50pm. Course was packed so great to see Rustic thriving here in Ventura County. The course is in incredible shape. I have been playing here since the 1st week they opened and I can't remember the fairways ever being this lush and nice. Perfect padded lies. Rated 8.5/10. Greens were in fabulous condition. Quick, firm and true. Maybe a 10 or 11 on the stimp. Rated 8.5/10. Tees super lush, mostly level and minimal damage on the par 3s. Rated 8/10. Greenside rough is lush, beautiful easy 9/10. Fairway rough improved some but still spots of thin lush and hard pan areas here and there. Rated 6.5/10. Got to test some bunkers out with my student. They have improved many of the bunkers here. I walked 10 and 11 by myself just before dark and the back nine looked just as nice as the front. Would highly recommend Rustic right now. Its in fabulous shape.

Played Rustic 9/24 with an 8am tee time. We were sent off as a twosome which was fine with us. Was excited as this was my first go at the links style course. The course is in incredible shape especially with the heatwaves we've recently had. The fairways are lush with little browning. The greens are immaculate and were very challenging with the undulations and speed. I loved the layout and can't wait to come back.

I played as a single on 9/16/2020 with a 10:00am tee time. POP was fine, getting around in 4:10. Marshalls are sorely missed here at times but overall it's not bad.

The fariways and greens were in great shape. A few tees, while mostly lush, have some pretty serious divot damage. If was nearly impossible to find a decent spot on a couple fo the par 3 tee boxes. Overall though, the course is in very nice shape, especially given the severe weather we've been seeing.

This course is a serious test of your short game. Huge collars surround all the greens and depending on pin placement it can be tough to get tight to most pins. Sadly, I noticed a lot of players playing from the blue tees that absolutely shouldn't have been and as a result sometimes we waited on a few tees.

as always, I had a great time here and look forward to going back. you can only get aa senior discount if you have a senior card, which seemed like a lot of hassle, but that's about the only concern I had. Covid procedures are as expected, masks in the clubhouse, food only through a small window, and such, but again, not a big deal.

Walked the blues this morning 8/31/2020 at 9:15am joined by a nice single and twosome. We had some nice cool foggy British open conditions the first 7 holes which gave way to beautiful sunshine and light breeze on the back nine. Chamber of commerce day for Moorpark. Very friendly staff at Rustic. Nice shape putting green and they have a nice chipping area with a bunker adjacent to the driving range. Have not rode here in a while but looks like they might have recently added a new GPS system to the carts. Our POP was 4 hours 25 minutes behind a packed tee sheet. Covid19 insert foam in pins, no ball washers, restaurant open for window pickup and no rakes in the bunkers. Most noticable difference from my last round was how improved the fairways are. Most sections are semi lush to lush and the grass is thicker than it usually is this time of year with the heat we have been having, Kudos to the crew. Nice lies in the fairways today. Rated 7.5/10. Greens rolling in very nice shape. Holding most irons, receptive yet like most greens at Rustic you want to be below the hole. Would say maybe a 10 on the stump. Rated 8/10. Drove it into right fairway bunker on 3 and bombed it into greenside bunker on 7. Both bunkers firm but easy to get out of. Rated 7/10. Tees are really nice here fairly level and super lush. Rated 8/10. Greenside rough you are a beauty, thick lush and manicured to just the right height Rated 9/10 Fairway rough is mostly dry, inconsistent but playable. Rated 6/10 Of note they are doing a watering project on the fringes on holes 11, 13,15 and 17 where the fringes were just soaked. Looks like they punched the fringes with little holes as well. The greens, fairways, tees and greenside rough are in very good shape. Love coming to my home course. Highly recommended.

First time out in at least 2 years sadly. My group wanted to play the blue so that was a challenge. The course is better than last time i remember playing. Tee boxes are flat and could easily find spots without divots to tee off from. Grass on the fairways was in great shape. Rough was thick thick where it was but often just dirt blending into the native areas. Sand was OK, a little too many rocks and low maintenance. Greens were in great shape. Very few divots. Didn't break as much as we played them too but reasonably fast. Only about 50% of people wearing a face covering around the club house. Website said carts weren't guaranteed but they had carts in the barn before and after the round. New monitors for the GPS on the carts. Bright and visible with good definition and a very helpful flyover view that really helped with blind spots.

Played 8/2. I have been playing here for years. Word of the day is SLOW. 5 1/2 hours for a round should not be acceptable. Course is in decent shape. Greens were a little slow but good, decent coverage in the fairways. Rough is poor and is never taken care of. I get it is supposed to be links style and they keep in natural but if you are going to charge upwards of $90 to ride, things should be better. I also find it offensive that the courses are taking advantage of the fact people want to ride and most need to be single. I rode with my wife in one cart and paid $16/each for the privilege. Used to be a great deal coming out here. I would say the course is now over-priced for the conditions considering the other options in the area.

Tees were excellent lush, mostly all level. Rated 8/10.

Fairways were semi-lush with some run out. Rated 7/10

Greens were soft, receptive and I would say a 10 on the stimp. Rolling very nicely. Still have foam inserts half way down cup due to COVID-19.

Greenside rough is super lush and beautiful just outside the fringes 9/10

Fairway rough is dry and spotty and generally thin with a few lush spots here and there. Rated 6/10

They just punched the back nine fringes with holes but it didn't bother play much.

Was in greenside bunker just left of 3 pin that had harder compact sand that was still easy to blast out of.

Just love coming out here for the unique challenge that is Rustic Canyon. Love my home course. Recommended.

Got out last night for a quick 9 holes walking the blues on the front nine with my buddies Pedro and Matt. We teed off just after 6pm and finished with the sun setting. Beautiful weather in the mid 70's with a slight breeze.

The greens are firmer and in great shape since my last round out here. Fixed an extra couple ball marks but they rolled beautifully. Receptive towards high shots with spin. Rated 8/10

Fringes were mown tight, semi firm and in good shape.

Fairways were semi-lush, mostly green and in good shape. Plenty of roll for low ball flight players even with semi-lush conditions. Rating 7/10

Tees mostly level and very nice and lush. Rated 8/10

Was in greenside bunker pin high left on 3 that contained firmer sand but enough sand to easily splash out of. Bunkers here are firmer than most courses. Rated 7/10.

Greenside rough just beautiful and lush in most spots(8/10). Fairway rough decent, some lush spots, some thinner spots(6/10).

Greens, Tees, Fairways, Fringes and Greenside rough are in great shape right now. Highly recommend a play right now.
