Played on Saturday, 4/20. I usually play early morning but I received a text from the course for "2 for $60 after Noon," and made a last minute tee time for 2:08p. Saved $20 from the normal OB card rate. Checked in early and starter got us out about 20 minutes early as a 2some. Course was going slow due to a 3some 2 groups ahead, that was 3 holes behind by the 6th hole. We were able to play through on 10 and finished at 4 hours. The marshal did a good job moving the groups through the slow one. Course is doing great. Tee boxes were level, with typical damage on the Par 3s. Fairways were lush, with no brown or dead spots. Rough is starting to grow in, and they are cutting a "1st cut." AP is rehabbing the bunkers and the new sand is soft and fluffy. Greens were fast and firm, shots were rolling through if you didn't have spin. A little more unrepaired ball marks then I'm use to seeing here. Customer service was great. I had to call for the special, and golf shop walked me through it. Check in was fast and friendly. Drink cart was around often and snack bar was open after #5 and #14. Big thumbs up to the marshall for staying on the slow group.

Played here Thurs. 4/4 and had the pleasure of playing with GK'er ROB1563. He got us a great rate of $44 with his OB card. We had a 7:20 tee time and got out right on time as a twosome. POP was under 4 hours. The staff in the shop and the starter were great and helpful. The course is in very nice condition! Tee boxes were never an issue, level and lush. Fairways very green and lush I never had a bad lie when I hit them. The rough was very short and any shot on the edge would roll into the desert. Bunkers had decent sand and were all nicely raked. The greens were the best part of the course. Firm-fast and almost mark free. We played from the white tees and I enjoyed the challenge and the layout, just right for the last day of my week long trip. The fact that I could meet up with a fellow GK'er this far from home is one of the things I enjoy the most about this site. It was really fun and I have yet to meet anyone here who was not a great playing partner.

2nd half of 36 on Tuesday, 3/5. 11:30ish tee time and the starter got us out a little early with another 2some. Unfortunately we were behind a group skins match and the going was slow. Finished in just over 4.5 hours, a little long for this course, especially during the week. Course was in pretty good conditions, and have improved a little since in the 2 weeks since I played last. Tee boxes were in great shape, level, with divots only on the Par 3s. Fairways were lush and firm, with no thin or brown areas. There was no rough. It was cut the same length as the fairway, causing the an offline ball to roll through it into the desert area. Sand was wet and heavy, which was not expected for a warm afternoon. Greens were in excellent shape, fast and firm, with almost no ball marks. Putts rolled true and did not bounce around. Customer service was OK. Cart staff was great, meeting us in the parking lot, and switching out and setting up our carts between rounds. Golf shop was friendly and efficient. We had an excellent breakfast in the restaurant after the 1st round, with a great waitress. Starter was good. My only complaint was the maintenance guy who didn't turn the mower as we teed off on the Par 3 #6. The noise didn't bother me, but it drowned out my "fore" as my tee shot bounced in front of a cart coming up the shared path with #5. Also, the "halfway house" after #5/#14 was closed, and didn't see the drink cart on the back until #17. Overall, Mountain is my favorite at Angel Park. Well worth the $44, but hard to pay more than $60.

Played this course for the first time on Fri Feb 15. We chose this course because it appeared to be a decent layout and the pictures looked good here on GK.org. The tee boxes were in very good shape, we did not notice any real issues and the divot damage was limited to the par 3's. The fairways were fairly firm, but in good condition, I did not find myself with any suspect patches or terrible lies. The rough was nearly non-existent, it was the same color as the fairways, but was cut just above the fairway length. So escape was easy, but if you had a wayward tee shot the lack of rough did not stop your ball from rolling into the surrounding desert. The greens were rock hard, perfectly high pitched approach shots hardly made a small dent. So fixing pitch marks was not an issue. Some of the greens ran really fast, and others were just regular fast. Overall the course conditions were decent, but the layout was not my favorite. It felt like a number of simple desert layout courses that you see in Palm Springs. None of the holes were particularly memorable. I always have a good time golfing so I can't really complain. The price is cheaper than most in the Vegas area, and the customer service was very good.

Played Friday, 2/1, with a 8am-ish tee time. On a beautiful day heading into Super Bowl Weekend (2nd or 3rd busiest weekend in Vegas), we got around in under 4 hours. Customer service was fine, with very little interaction. Only saw the drink cart on the back 9, but the snack shack near 5 and 14 was open. Very good conditions. Fairways were lush, except for a few that had some thin bare spots, such as #2, and a few on the back nine. The rough was overseeded so it was green, but cut short (1-2 inches) and hitting out of it was easy. Sand in the fairway and greenside bunkers was good. Wet early on, but it dried out as the day went along. Tee boxes were fine, mostly level and few divots Greens were firm and fast, with long shots in running off the back, and very little ball mark damage. Many of them tilt from back to front, and are difficult to gauge the speed due to the valley effect. The Mountain course basically runs east-west, or down towards the valley-up to the mountains. Putts downhill but towards the mountains are slow, while the same putt towards the Stratosphere are like putting on glass. Pretty good course, well worth the $40 OB card rate.

Greens were firm because of the temp. Difficult to putt because of the mountain sloping of the Mountain course. Tees and fairways were fine. But there is very little rough either along the fairway or near the greens. As they say: tight lies makes for tough chipping.
Green speeds were inconsistent.
(I played the Palm the day before and the greens and rough were much better.)
Mountain course runs East-West with trees lining the fairways in many places. Doesn't seem to get as much direct sunlight in the winter. (Palm course has fewer trees and the hole directions vary so it gets more sun and the grass seems to grow better.)

Card holderholder rate was $40, so that was a good price for the course conditions. Course needs about two weeks of warmer weather for the grass to grow in a little.

Played on Saturday, 11/24. 3rd group out, behind a 2some and 3some. Finished right at 4 hours, and only saw the group behind us twice. Greens were in excellent shape, firm and fast with little amount of ball marks, and very tricky. Fairways were good for the most part, a handful of browning spots (but not quite dead) over the 18 holes. Tee boxes were level and lush, except for the Par 3s. The par 3 tee boxes had a lot of divots (maybe they hadn't moved them yet). The rough varied from fairway length to 3 inches, you just didn't know until you got to your ball.

Overall, not the best shape I've seen the Mountain in, but far from the worse. Worth the $45 I paid for peak season, early morning weekend tee time.

Played on Monday, 9/3, the first day it reopened from reseeding. A few negatives: fairways still haven't set in, with a lot of bare spots, more on the front than the back. Holiday weekend brought the crowd, our 3 were behind a 2some, that ended up joining with the groups ahead to become an 8some (no joke, saw 8 standing on the green).

The positives: greens were excellent. Slower than usual, but in great shape and held shots. The marshals, who are normally non-existent here. They quickly broke up the 8 and we finished a shade over 4 hours. I used the tee time phone app and was warned before the confirmation screen of the reseeding conditions.

Overall, pretty good for $30 on a holiday. I would wait a month for the reseeding to firm up. I only wish they allowed walking,especially during cart path only conditions.

Played this course early Saturday. Staff was very cordial and got us on the tee promptly. The three of us played with a local named mickey who knew the course layout and was a great help. Tee boxes were fair, but the fairways were excellent. Greens were a little slow and got faster once the temp heated up. Overall a nice time on a real nice layout. Highly recommended. Also played the short 3 par 12 hole cloud nine course which was a real good time. Will try the palm course next time in LV.
