I enjoy playing new courses as much as possible and will golf anywhere. I like the challenge of tough courses, meeting new people, sunsets, holding hands, long walks on the beach...

Greens were fertilized or chemically treated in some way with the blue dye being evident on the practice putting greens. Fairways and rough were very lush. Maybe too lush because they need to (in the midnight hour) mow mow mow! Lost a couple of balls in the deep rough. Most of the bunkers need some kind of maintenance: add sand and trim the edges. The greens were just medium speed but not slow. They were also very lush and soft. People might be fixing their ball marks; I saw only a few on the last couple of holes. Yesterday's heat kept the late afternoon golfers at home and the course was relatively empty. Our time was 5:20 PM. It was $19 to walk with an additional $12/rider, if that's your option. The area around the clubhouse has been fixed up a bit and the course looks nice overall. This is the course you go to when you have beginning golfers, and you want some short game practice. » Close Played Sunday, June 23, 2024, in a small tournament. The course is in great shape. Holes 1 and 9 were cart path only due to overly wet conditions (something about their well overflowing). I always find this course to be challenging with some narrow tee shots (especially off the Blue tees). Lots of ways to get your ball lost or stuck in a bunker with some crazy bunch grass growing in it. Who thinks of this stuff?
Greens: Rolling fast and true. These were the fastest greens I have played on this year, maybe in recent memory. It was easy to roll 10' or more past the pin. All the greens here are sloped, and it was tricky.
Fairways and rough: Good grass coverage everywhere. The rough was thick, but not too penal unless your ball settled down. The fairways were really nice with a thick cushion of turf under your ball.
Bunkers: Not too good as far as grooming. Decent sand in most bunkers, but they all needed raking. A couple of bunkers had wet, hard-packed sand.
Tees: We played the Blue tees and they were all in great shape. Level and very few divots.
Overall, I had a great time, and the course is in good shape. Parking at this time is a little in disarray due to construction of solar canopies in the main parking lot. There's plenty of parking but you need to drive around the construction to find it. The clubhouse has decent food at reasonable prices. » Close Good times today with Solinari619. The starting hole is now what used to be the 17th. It got me messed up for some reason, but I recovered and made up for it. Everything seems to be great on the course. For $165/player, it should be. Greens: Medium fast. I could not hit a good putt all day, but they all seemed to roll great. Fairways and rough: There's not a lot of rough, but good grass coverage was to be had everywhere. I never had a bad lie. Bunkers: Nice sand; soft and light. Good bunker conditions. Tees: We played the White tees. All were level and had great turf. Overall: The course is as nice as I remember it; just way more expensive. » Close I played here twice in the last two weeks. Conditions are vastly improved from my past experiences here. There is a new management team and it appears that maintenance has been stepped up.
Greens: medium speed and soft. There has been a lot of ball marks, but most are easily fixed. Greens roll true.
Fairways: Good coverage overall. Some areas receiving supplemental water during the morning.
Rough: Slightly taller than the fairways, but a noticeable cut. Not too penal.
Bunkers: All looked decently groomed and had good sand.
Tees: Level and not too many divots.
Overall: this course plays slow for the yardage. Not unusual as it is an executive size course in a dense suburban neighborhood with not many other options nearby. The price is right, especially for walkers. » Close I don't have much to add to roarksown1's review/rating for last Friday, June 7. This facility has two courses and sees a lot of play. There's a huge parking lot, parkland adjacent, large practice area, and an old-school vibe that screams MUNI GOLF! Feels like going back in time. The proshop and cafe looks like your typical 60's high school single-story brick building. The restroom indicates "Men's/Women's locker room" but is nothing more than a restroom with no hot water or towels. Like the Woodley Lakes course nearby the two courses here are more or less flat. Lots of huge trees line every fairway and offer great shade during the heat of summer. If you like shade, just stay out of the fairways!
Good times to be had here and the price is right. » Close
