Played on a Sunday. $20 including a cart made it hard to pass up. The course is wet and torn up a bit. Tees were not level, with a lot of divots (mostly par 3 holes). Fairways had tight lies, wet ground, and a lot of ground under repair. The special rate brought out a lot of golfers and the course was crowded. Waited on most every shot. Sand was in decent condition, but a lot of foot prints not raked. The greens were okay; some had a lot of unrepaired ball marks and all of them showed uneven growth from last fall's aeration.

Got out New Years Eve at 9am as a foursome. Slow day at VV due to holiday and the abundant sunshine with 80 degree temps. Got around in 4.5hrs. Normally you can play here in less than 4 hours. Love the layout here but the course can use a little water and care. Overpriced for an executive course but live close by and will continue to play here.

Winter conditions prevail - dormant fairways and rough throughout with firm and thin lies.

Greens are fair for muni golf - most are softer and nappy but some were firmer and those tracked better and were smoother (but still on the bumpy side). Tees and sand were both ok.

Super twilite is pretty cheap at 11 bucks to walk and if you hustle you can still get in 18. I like 10 dollar golf no matter the conditions!

Played Sunday (11/13), went out just before 11 am, went out as a twosome with my 5 year old (kind of a 1 1/2 some, he plays a "scramble" off my shots). Played through 1 group on the front, finished 9 holes in just over 1 hour. Back 9 took about 1.5 hours, caught a few groups.

Course is in pretty good shape. Greens were punched fairly recently, punch marks still visible, grass hadn't been cut in a few days and they were rolling SLOW. Sand traps had nice fluffy sand (I tested a few), fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes were pretty tore up, they need some work.

Although this is the closest course to my house I rarely play here due to it's executive course shortness, and usually it's pretty backed up. I was pleasantly surprised by the better than average conditions, and quick round, even playing with my young son.

Pretty much a locals spot, meaning not worth the drive to go there. An executive course, playing 5 hours on weekends. The goods were that the bunkers were decent and the rough wasn't too difficult to hit out of. The cons are the pace and bumpy greens from people leaving ball marks. It's a fun place to play casually with friends, but don't drive out here for the conditions or customer service.

Played here yesterday (Sat. 10/22/11) with the Meetup LA Golf Group golf league. We had two tee times at around 9:00 a.m. Pace of play took 4 1/2 hours to finish. The course is challenging enough for a par 61 with a lot of character (notably number 17, island green). There are 7 par 4's and 11 par 3's; a few are less than 100 yds. Today, the pins were in the same place as the day prior as evidenced by the rough and shaggy appearance of the holes. Not good. I saw many foot prints in several of the bunkers. A few greens had ball marks that needed repair and a few that were repaired poorly. Greens rolled somewhat slower than normal; many of the guys were leaving putts short. The guy in the pro shop did forewarn our groups to keep up with the pace of play due to the fact we were playing a tournament match play format. Seriously, this course is notoriously slow for a par 61. I was a little taken aback with his comments. I said send a marshal if anyone is slow. Never happened. We waited on most shots. It is slow from the first group out as far as I know. The good: Vista Valencia executive has a lot of character and is a fun and challenging layout. The bad: price is high for what it is and pace is a little slow.

You may think its only a par 61, (If I was a a betting person, I'm not ) but, I bet you would have a hard time breaking 70. Not an easy course, by any stretch. If you break 80 your doing better than most, I think. I have a USGA handicap of 9, and my score for today, 9-8-11 was 74
Great twilight rate, today Thursday 9-8-11, I paid $16 with a cart ( & $5 key deposit). Took me approx 3 1/2 hours to play, first tee was full of golfers @ 330pm.
Found that most of the bunkers did not have sand in them. Looked like hard dirt. I was in the front left side bunker on #5. Rt foot was able to push away sand, left foot found about 1"or 2" of sand before I couldn't push anymore away. Struck sand by ball, very little sand there, lucky I didn't skull it.
Greens in great shape, except for the fact people won't fix thier ball marks.This is very upsetting. C'mon people, it's not that hard to fix them.If you don't know how, ask, or look it up.
Also pep's rake the bunkers. It's hard to get out of the bunker if you are in someone elses footprint or club swipe.
Hard to find the ball in the ruff, it's pretty thick. I was helping people look for thier balls and in order to find the ball, most of the time you had to be right on top of it. This slows down the pace of play.
Lots of " could kill u grass" especially around the greens.
Very hard to run ball up on the greens do to the uphills, "grass," and very soft fronts.
Keep you ball retriever @ home. All water on the course is green. You can't even see your ball if it barely goes in.
Ravines are full of weeds, bushes, small trees, water in some areas. Allmost impossible to find the ball if you are unfortinate to hit it there.
I saw some skunks at dusk. Lots of those pesky Canadian Geese, some ducks, turtles, and what looked like a crane. I saw a white and a grey one. I also saw some rabbits, and red tail hawks.
I would give this course an overall rating of fair. 5 out 10, would be hire if bunkers actually had sand in them, and if you wouldn't loose balls in the ruff, and if water wasn't green. This takes away from the beauty of the course, in my opinon.especially on the signature hole ( 17 ).
There is also a par 3 on this site. I have not played this course yet, but fees after 3 (today 9-8-11 Thursday)were $9. walking only I think.

Played Saturday, late morning with fellow GKers and LA Golf Group buddies Tony, George, and Michael. As I figured, it was crowded and slow (mostly due to a men's club tourney earlier). Pace really opened up late in the round for the last seven holes. I have not been here in quite a while. Conditions are decent if you can find the fairway. Some areas of rough have a lot of deep kikuyu that is hard to hit from, much less find your ball. Greens were soft and rolled nicely with a medium to fast pace with few putts falling off line. The best part of the course is #17, the infamous island green.
