Played my 1st round @ 11A for $15 on a GolfNow deal that included a cart, a good value even if it was 106 degrees. Older track without alot of bells and whistles. No GPS on the carts, they could definitely use more distance markers. All they have are rocks on either side of the fairway @ 150 yards and either lines on the cartpath or stones in the fairway @ 100 & 200 yards. No drink cart but they do have a nice grill onsite. They have also upgraded the clubhouse since the last time I played here a couple of years ago. The customer service was excellent, I played in 3H. The greens are firm but roll well, medium speed. The areas in front of many greens are 1"-2" bermuda rough, so it is tough to run a ball up onto the greens here until they are cut down some. The traps were the best part of the course, very well maintained with mostly fluffy sand. First course I have played out here in 2 weeks that you could actually blast out of a trap that wasn't packed dirt. The fairways are mostly wide and in good condition overall. The course played longer today because you did not get much roll on the fairways, they are thick bermuda. The rough while not overly tall is thick bermuda and can be punitive in spite of the length. I was barely off the fairway in several areas and a long iron was out of the question. The tees were downright furry, they were too long and needed some love.

Played 36 at Tahquitz yesterday. Started in the morning on Legend. I had booked a 7:07 time through GN for $59. I teed off a few minutes ahead of my time, paired with three other singles as the first group off. All of us were quick players, so we finished in 3 hours. The course was in very nice winter condition, very lush and green. It was really wet and soggy throughout, though, so that made the course play tougher than it is. The tee boxes were excellent. The fairways were a tad shaggy and didn't roll out at all because they were so wet. The rough was deceptively difficult. It wasn't deep, but it was really thick and so wet. Felt like hitting through seaweed, so it was definitely penal if you found it. The greens looked pretty good, but were brutally slow on putts. However, the surfaces were still rather firm despite the dampness. I wasn't in a bunker until the 18th hole. They all looked a bit hard-packed, but the one I was in actually had pretty good sand. This is just an OK course with some old school Palm Springs charm and nice scenery in a residential area. Fairly long and made longer by the wet and slow conditions. Otherwise, it's pretty wide open and there's not too much trouble to get into. I guess a storm really did some damage to the big wash that runs through parts of this course, so those areas are just ugly right now. Basically a big dirt/mud pit and some of the cart paths in those areas are flooded and muddy.

Second time around with the Men's group, skins last Sunday. . . good group of guys. . . just got invited, not a member.

Second time around with the Men's group, skins last Sunday. . . good group of guys. . . just got invited, not a member.

This isn't a bad course. The layout goes through an older neighborhood-- it's an older course. The conditions were very fair to good. Generous fairways and greens. Can be long for a few beginners, please check scorecard. But all in all a fun track and not so difficult at all.

Overseeding begins on the 18th.

Have a find day at this track-- you will.

Afternoon round we booked on golf now for $7, yes that's 7 for a 18 hole course with cart. Not very memorable course but a good muni type to course with tight fairways and small greens. Better than paying $10 for a bucket of balls.

First time on the Legends in a long time. A very walkable course as it is flat and very wide open for the most part. The conditions are awesome together with the Sunday skins deal $49 to ride with breakfast, lunch and a couple of beverage.

The green rolled nicely and true- very smooth. The green side bunkers are well sanded, but the fairway bunkers are thin to none. The fairways and roughs are lush.

All in all this course is a very nice fun course to play without notice.

Monday April 2, 2:30 tee time, with 7 minute spacing made for a sleepy round for our 2 ball between fours; finished in 4+30 and at dark. Overall a fair to good track, with mostly lush presentation throughout. Playing the white tees, it was hard to find turf to plug in the tee; back, mid and forward tee grounds looked fine. I was told the course puts through around 230 golfers per course a day!!! Fairways were lush, sometimes thin, firm and running long with grass quite short; evidence of divot damage. Rough was marginally higher than the fairways, at just under one inch. The grasses are mixed with bermuda waking up, some poa blooming, and rye still hanging on. Thankfully around the greens, most of the attentions was paid. Collars are lush rye, and manicured very nicely, with longer rough thick and green. The greens were most impressive; smooth, quick and soft, with good design for defense. Lots of time to repair 6+ ball marks each. Most sand was good, at times poor. I found only two green-side bunkers with thinning sand/dirt. The design was good old Bill Bell of 50's fame, moderate challenge but classic Palm Springs golf; all greens raised with bunker defense, only one hole with water. Drinks cart passes, good restaurant, sufficient prac-fac, and modest pro shop with lots of staff. An o.k. muni with a deal. As a retired aviator, I personally enjoyed the aircraft approaching to land.

Old school palm springs golf. traditional stlyle course that is mostly flat and straight forward winding thru condos. Most holes are flanked OB on both sides, but fairways are plenty wide. You still get great vistas on every hole. The experience is great residents out there respect you. My first shot of the day was a weak slice into backyard where dude was reading newspaper, no problem. Another in group was greeted by a man who gave him his ball back. The area gets lively as those who were fortunate enough to wake up hit the streets or bike trails pedestrians everywhere all very polite. Many holes are along streets, but no one blows horn while you hit, unlike here in the IE. Conditions are fabulous probably better that the resort course which cost more. Greens have alot of ball marks, but their repaired ball marks and are relativley quick and smooth. Fairways are perfect not a bare spot to found rough the same and a deep emerald green. 39$ for a sunday in beautiful Palm Springs with some freebies thrown in Priceless!! Yes it's not Silverrock it's old school traditional golf 50\75% cheaper which we all enjoy. Most enjoy island greens here you have a par three playing about 170 fronted by a small lake and bunker a busy street on the right and behind maybe 10 yards from green no nets, bail left nope condo there, thats a nervy tee shot.

First time playing and tournament round at that. New club plays here yearly and I can understand why. As in most of the "Springs" area, conditions are wonderful!
There were many small/medium sized tournaments on both courses and their management of each was well coordinated. Palmer management does a great job for the city and as an added bonus, we received both breakfast and lunch buffets!
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time spent at this facility!!!
