I play here very often. Right now the course is in pretty good condition with just a few rough/thin areas in the fairways. The greens are just about perfect running fast and smooth. The sand is on the firm side but playable. Tee boxes are great. The rough is not very long at all and playable, but there are definitely some areas in need of attention. Customer service is always good with a marshal always around.

Beware of the springtime afternoon winds that are usually 10-20 mph and carry through mid-summer. Someone that isn't used to it might get torn up, but those that don't mind them will love the challenge. I do!

Walked on as a single this morning and was first out on my own at 7:10. Clubhouse is older but pretty big and decent. Saw a couple guys hitting off grass on the range but the cart attendant was soon to come out and put down mats and asked them to hit off the mats. Range looked pretty raggedy and is placed in between the 11th and 18th hole. Practice green was nice, smooth and fast and about the same speed on greens out on the course.

Onto the course, I think my expectations were a little too high. I had heard from a guy at work that the course is usually good year round but that was not the case. Fairways and rough were really thin and patchy all throughout the course and made for some pretty bad lies. Tee boxes and the rough around them were pretty good though and some what uneven but easy to find a flat enough area. Rough right around the greens was great on most holes and patchy on a few and greens were good rolling fast and smooth even after the rain, collars were nice and well defined. Sand was really wet but seemed to have a decent amount of sand in the couple I was in but wish they would have had a little more. Pretty much the condition of tee boxes and greens were good with everything in between decent to terrible.

Layout of the course is decent. Some course knowledge on a couple would be good, 12 and 18 both doglegs come to mind in not really knowing where to put your drive. Overall I paid $45 and in this condition it shouldn't cost more than $20-$25. I might try the course out once more when conditions improve but I'm definitely in no hurry to come back.

played 5-24 stopped off on the way to vegas. traditional course tree lined fairways good variety of holes easily walkable. tee boxes level with good grass. rough along fairways ranged from 1-2 inches to very thin and some hardpan under trees but that seems to be part of the course. rough around greens ranged from 2-5 inches. sand traps where hard and crusty. greens have not yet heeled from aeration so where slow and bumpy hard to keep the ball from bouncing of line. not a destination course but if you are passing by it is worth playing twilight rate of $25 including cart.

Right now this course is in its typical "thin" condition. Lots of freezing weather has lead to mostly dry fairways and rough, but they are still quite playable. Drives are rolling a long ways! Plays more like a links right now. The tee boxes and greens are just fine, and the bunkers are their typical firm-but-playable selves.
Customer service here is always good, but you won't see a cart girl while on the course. However, you are right next to the clubhouse during your turn to #10, so it's easy to re-fuel then.
If you want lush playing conditions, you should wait a couple months... However, if you don't mind really thin fairways, this place is still quite playable.

Played on 12/14/11 and cost $30, the course was in poor shape. Normally the fairways are nice and the greens are rolling even better. This was not that case. Most of the course was really thin and not green. Greens had a lot of ball marks. Customer service was terrible. Some guy with spiked hair showed favoritism to a couple of jerk members by delaying our tee time when they did not have a tee time. I see why the course is losing money.

Was able to play on Thursday the 17th. Course is in good shape. The greens are perfect and rolling fast. Fairways are in good shape. Rough not very punishing. no cart girl, but the 19th hole is good. Pace a little slow but not bad. Very fun track with some length and some small driving areas pinched in by bunkers. Loved the layout and will play here again if I need to get out to this area again.

Played Apple Valley Saturday 6/18/11. Greens, tees, fairways, rough and sandtraps in top condition. Very enjoyable round on a beautiful day.

Play here very often. They had a notice on GK that they were aerating 4-4-11, but took it down and didn't aerate. They then aerated 4-11-11 with no notice. Did they need to aerate?, yes. However, the mis-communication is inexcusable.
Other than that, the course is "ok" for now, but they really need to get this place more lush. The rough is almost non-existent and the fairways are way too thin this time of year. The greens will most certainly bounce back to their usual perfection in a couple weeks and the bunkers are much better than they were this time last year. The tee boxes are very good.
One other thing: They are now allowing jeans and a t-shirt as acceptable golf attire. VERY BAD DECISION! With crappy dressing standards comes crappy golfers who don't care about course etiquette and conditions.
