Played here on 2/6/2020, mid sunny morning. Greens: smooth, fast and firm. Fairways: decent winter condition but many unfilled divots. Rough: 1-3" high with many bare areas. If you stray more than 5-10 yards from the fairway you will be in the wood chips or the DG (which is not good for your clubs). Traps: decent sand but many traps not raked by the golfers. Tees: many unlevel tees because of old animal burrows. POP: just over 4 hours. Great driving range and two practice greens. Not bad for a Muni, give it a try!

With concerns about frost, back to Oceanside because I have a good history of being able to get out early here without issues. Not much different than when I played here a couple weeks ago, although the greens, while still great, were not as pure as they were. Otherwise no real changes.

Staff here is always great and friendly. Rarely have any issues with the maintenance crew. I appreciate the low stress involved with playing this course, and enjoy the walk !

Dec 17th, teed off at 8 AM in 35 degrees but sunny weather. The ski hat and winter gloves were off by 9:30. Greens: best part of the course, soft to firm greens, smooth with medium + speed. Fairways: decent conditions, few too many unfilled divots. Rough: 1-3" high for 10-15 feet from the fairway but then the DG comes into play. Traps: good amount of sand and raked. Tees: many tees not level, old animal tunnels. POP: at 4 1/2 hours. Good practice areas. Not bad conditions for a Muni, give it a try.

Back out early at one of my favorite places to play. It's one of my favorites because I never have any issues getting out first, staff is always great, and I find the course a lot of fun to play. I have played this course for many years and I have never seen the greens in better condition, in fact I have to admit that they are probably the best putting surfaces I have putted on all this year, and I mean ANYWHERE!

Fairways were generally good with the occasional bare spot. Rough however was fair at best. Most of the tee boxes (From the tips) were good, but areas of wear showing. Both bunkers I found still showed residual signs from the recent rain, but otherwise appeared to have bah plenty of sand.

I recognize this course probably would not appeal to everyone, but I find it interesting, easy to walk (Except #12), and enough of a challenge to keep my interest, yet very playable. Also helps that it's not overly long even from the tips.

Played on 10/22, the greens are "healed", come give the Muni a try.

I really had no intention of playing Oceanside, but after reading zgolfinman's review and learning the greens will be punched next week,, so figured I'd get out and play while the greens are still good.

Truth is that I have the least amount of difficultly getting out early here, staff is wonderful, friendly and accommodating. I recognize many may not like this course because the areas which have been designated to "save water" which are little more than hard pan, do not make for the most favorable esthetics. But they really rarely actually come into play unless you hit a poor shot.

Course is in decent condition, with the typical issues usual to this course. Greens were the best part I felt, most fairways provided reasonable lies. Bunkers are hit or miss, some good, some only fair. Rough was also inconsistent. Since I tend to play the "tips" here, those areas of the tees were still pretty good.

Being a dedicated walker, except for the grind to climb #12, very enjoyable to just sling your bag over your shoulder and enjoy a fun layout, with enough challenge to keep your interest but not punish every marginal shot

Played Tuesday AM, course is in good condition BUT I am confirming the greens are being punched 10/1 and 10/2. I'll let you know when they recover, normally 3 weeks.

Finally got to play after 5 weeks (medical issue). I was surprised with the condition of the course. Really in good shape!

Greens: soft, smooth with medium to fast speed.

Fairways: very good condition, a few to many divots.

Rough: 1-3" high with many bare spots, worst part of the course.

Sand: better than average condition; soft and raked.

POP at 4 hours.

Nice practice areas.

If you play early in the morning, (before 9) there is no food/beverage service.

Great to be back!!!

Out at 6am on an overcast morning. Not very busy, so enjoyed a nice easy pace of just under 3 hours to walk. Course is in very good overall condition. Greens roll extremely well and received shots well. Fairways in some of the better condition I've seen here. Both bunkers I found were well maintained with plenty of sand.

Staff here is always great, pleasant and accommodating. This is becoming a "go to" course, one I can rely on to get out early and play quickly.
