If you hit the putt solid you have an excellent chance of making it. These greens are awesome. The ball really rolls true without much break. I did not putt well today but I still felt confident that it would go in. The greens and the entire course is pure, pure and simple. Only holes 4, 7, and 10 are difficult. The course is a bit pricey but to play on a course as nice as this is a real treat.

I played here today in an SCGA tournament. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The clubhouse/restaurant is very nice. The course is in very good condition. The tees are very good. The fairways are lush, maybe too lush, not too much roll. The greens are receptive and smooth but seem "grainy". They were somewhat slow. It is a fun resort course. Most of the fairways are generous but some narrow in strategic areas such as bunkers or hazards. It can get pretty windy in the afternoon. A very nice course, well worth a return visit.

Played here 8/4. Every time I play here I am amazed by how nice this course is. This time was no different. Had a great time. This course is in pristine condition. The staff are friendly and conscientious. Enough variation in each hole to keep the interest up and the challenge going. Nice snack bar at the turn. Beautiful course and lovely views of mountains and vineyards. A very playable track for a decent price. (The River Grill wins awards for their food all the time but we've not sampled their wares yet) Look forward to playing here again.

Played 8-3-11. Had a great time. Very beautiful course. Fairways were lush and the rough not to penalizing. Greens rolled true but were a little slower than I like. Bunkers were nice and fluffy. Not the most challenging course but very fun with some tough holes that keep you focused. No GPS but they rent rangefinders. Interesting gimmick and since we walked GPS wouldn't help. Very walkable course by the way. Look forward to playing here anytime we are in the area.

Played 2 rounds at this course on a whim on 9/19/2010 with 3 of my buddies. We tee'ed off at 8am. When done by 12:00pm. Weather was great so we wanted to play again....Only to find out the replay rate is only a cart fee of $16...WOW and off we go again at 12:45pm with a full lunch in us from the Grill right there on site (FOOD WAS AWESOME, and quick). The Pro Staff was one of the best I have ever dealt with. Very helpful and nice.

Now the course...The course starts out with wide open fairways so we started to think this course was a bit to easy....then the holes start to go on...and as you continue on the course the holes start to get some teeth and gets a bit tougher....then the afternoon winds kick in and it gets pretty tough on some holes..

Over all the 36 hole day was a great experience for us all and we will be going back next September for our weekend golf getaway.

The course fairways where in such great shape. Never a bad lye on the fairway and always rewarded for a good drive off the tee. The rough was challenging all through the course and the greens where in great shape with good roll. It was one of the only courses that I have played on that the greens didn't have any noticable divots...People take pride in the course both staff and players and the divots where always fixed on the greens. That was noice to see and play on.

Not the toughest course in that area but one of the nicest with look and views. Plus there is a lot to do outside the course in Solvang.

Nice layout, enjoyed the course. A few holes where accuracy was even more paramount than normal where you really had to thread the needle. However, there were other holes where there was a very generous landing area. Greens were a little slower than they looked and expected, but they putted well considering how windy it was. FAIR was a word I'd use to describe this layout, good shots are rewarded and getting crooked can be punitive on many holes. Short little par 3 17th where water surrounds the green 270 degrees is visually intimidating with a 20+ mph wind!

Played this course for the first time earlier this afternoon 8/2 at twilight from the tips. Very windy course with at least 5 really tough golf holes. Some of the holes were treeline holes and a couple holes to let the driver rip. The conditions of this course were fantastic(even better than close by LP). The fairways were green and lush with almost perfect lies in the fairways. The greens were in great shape and putted slow for my taste but held iron shots like darts. The sand was in nice condition and the rough was not to penal. The tee boxes were lush but a couple of them were unlevel. The course itself starts you out with 3 scoring holes downwind and then you have a "bear" of a par 3 230 from the tips(Our group was playing it 260 today with the wind in our face). #7 is a great #1 handicap hole and is tough. #6 and #15 were also challenging holes as well. The clubhouse looked very elegant inside and the grill/restaurant area was jammed with locals and tourists alike eating lunch. The pro-shop staff was not very social but did let us go out a group or two ahead of our tee time. Pace of play today was 4 hours 45 minutes. There are no sprinkler head yardages for walkers here as the course is set up for carts. We played it for $45.00 at 2pm and it was well worth the money. Great conditions and a pretty nice layout back in the country....

Had to play since it was high rated for SB county. Not worth it for me. No service. Very basic layout and course. i would rather play La Purisima, Rancho or the like in this area. Just my opinion.... Continue »
