Today, I had the opportunity to play Sea Bee Golf Course in Port Hueneme CA. My tee time was at 7:00 AM. Played with my buddy Ron. Customer Services as always excellent. We were allowed to tee off twenty minutes early. We had no body in front and back of us. We finished our round of golf in 3 and 1/2 hours.

The tees were in decent shape, they all need a little TLC but you can find level areas to have a great shot.

Fair ways need lots of TLC, they were dry and hard to hit your second shot from. The sand bankers needs sand to be added. The greens were OK, the ball was running well but still needed lots of work. But over all, we had a great time and it was great to get out and play a round of Golf this morning.

Overall I rate this golf course a 6.5.

I justed finished play an eighteen hole round of golf at the Seabee Golf Club. I played with my buddies Carlos and Sherwin. Our tee time was at 7:10 AM and finished under 4 hours. We had no body in front of us or behind us. The golf course is in good shape, with the exception of a few fairs. The tees are in good shape and some of them were a little unbalance. The greens were in great shape and the ball was running very niecely. I have not played the Seabee Golf Course in while but it was very fun round. If you want to play the Seabee golf course you must apply for a based pass in order to enter the Port Hueneme Naval base. Overall I'm rating this golf course a 7.5

This last Saturday, I had the opportunity to play Seabee Golf Club. Our tee time was at 6:30 AM. We had no body in front of us and finished our round in 3 hours and 45 minutes. I had my best score in this Golf Course. It was lots of fun.

The fair ways were in fair conditions, the greens were rolling good, the sand traps needs a little more sand but had plenty to have a decent shot and get out of them. The rough was in good conditions and not difficult to get out. The tees does need a little TLC. The customer service like always excellent.

If you don't have a pass to get in to the Port Hueneme Base is very easy to do. Just contact Mr. James at James.McShea@navy.mil and request an application to get your pass. It takes about 2 weeks to get you approve.

Played the course with my hubby 8/30/16 and we had a great time

The fairways are in good condition and the approaches to the greens are some of the best I have seen. You get tons of roll, so altho the course was a little long for ME (72 year old woman) I did okay and managed to keep it under 100. The pace was fine ( under four hours for the two of us) and it was not busy at all (played around 1:00 PM)
All in all, it was a nice day and we will be going back again.

The people are very friendly in the pro shop, and the rates are very reasonable.

This last Sunday, August 7th. I played The Seabee Golf Course in Port Hueneme. My tee time was at 7:07 AM. I played with two buddies and had a great round. The weather was just perfect and had no wind. Customer services was great and let us play a little early. The fair ways are in good conditions, the tees where OK and hard to find your balance. The ball was running good in the greens. The golf course was busy but we didn't wait for any body. Overall, I enjoyed and had a great game. The weather was just perfect.

Played here 9/6 with sixpez. The course is in good shape, highlighted by the very smooth and receptive greens. Fairways were good for the most part but there were one or two that were sort of in questionable condition. Rough was ok. Sand was nice. Tee boxes were mostly good.

This course is flat as a pancake but still a decent track. There's a big waste bunker with boulders in it between two holes on the back, which was sort of interesting. On a couple holes there are water hazards that aren't staked nor do they show up on the diagrams of the holes on the scorecard. They are not mirages, so make sure you don't trust your playing partner's poor eyesight. ;-)

Like Keith mentioned, the process of getting "sponsored" onto the Naval base is a bit cumbersome, but the cheap rates make up for that quickly.

Itslikeimsayin and I played here this morning. Getting on the base is a bit of a hassle as someone from the course has to meet you in the pass building to "sponsor" you. Got there a half-hour early for a 7:15 tee time ($27 golfnow) and by the time we went through the check in it was just about our tee time when we got in the pro shop. Still, they didn't seem too busy, so we teed off a few minutes late, caught up to some groups toward the end of the front nine and overall enjoyed a nice sub-four-hour pace. As a civilian, just make sure you get there early enough and/or call ahead to the pro shop to make sure they have someone out there to meet you.

Beyond that process, everything else went smoothly and the course was in pretty solid condition for late summer. Some burnt out areas in fairways and rough, but mostly nice playing surfaces--rough especially nice around the greens. The greens were in pretty good shape. A few on the back seemed to roll a tad slower, but the surfaces were both receptive for approaches and smooth for putts. I was in a few sand traps and really liked the sand here. Not too fluffy and not too thin--just right, if you ask me. Tee boxes pretty decent throughout.

Though nothing super exciting, the course was a little more interesting and had more character than I was expecting. Mostly plays pretty short, but a few long holes mixed in to test you. As longball23 says, somewhat tighter on the front nine and more open on the back. GPS on the carts was a nice surprise, though our first cart died by the 12th hole! For the price, not too bad.

Hello everyone--here is a review of the Seabee Naval base golf course in Port Hueneme one of the very few Ventura County courses I have not played. Played this morning 1/22/13 at 8:50am with buddies and GK members Barkydog1 and Pedro7170 along with one of Barkydog's neighbors Manny. We had a Golfnow deal for 20 dollars including cart and range balls(and at times they offer this same deal with replay at this same rate on Tuesday's). The course is a tight mature tree lined front nine with the back nine opening up where you can let your driver rip. All par 3's from the back tees are semi-long and challenging and there are a few other tough holes that can bite an errant shot. There is either OB, a lake or numerous fairway bunkers that can make certain holes out here " thinking man's holes". For sure if you bomb the ball in play the course sets up for some birdies but a player should think their way around this track. The conditions were as follows. Fairways were brown, thin and doormant. The sand bunkers were firm on the top but most traps had just enough sand to make them playable. The tees were slightly un-level on some holes and were thinner. The greens were the highlight of the course. They were poa annua greens that were semi smooth and running around a 9 on the stimp. For some reason I could just see the lines today which helped me to only 27 putts with the flatstick. Many of the greens here are small and you must be precise with iron and wedge play. The rough was cut very low and thin. The most important thing to know about the course is if you want to play golf you must apply for a pass to get on the base.

On Wednesday, I golfed the CBC Golf Course at Navy Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme. OK, nothing fancy but it's conveniently close and a course we can let loose on and just have a blast. I was joined by close working buddies; Mike (the Coach), Teo, Walter and Jun.
I was a little taken back prior to our start. We had received an advertisement indicating $9 Green Fees to walk, $21 to ride during Twilight (after 3:00 PM). Turns out twilight didn’t start until 4:00 PM, and the fees were $27 to ride (still cheap…BUT!). In any case, despite the cold/wet conditions and very slow greens, the play was relatively fast (with a five-some), about 3h 45m.
By military base course standards, it is great! This course has a nice layout with a lot of mature trees to challenge your drives on the front 9. We walked right on the course at 3:30 with no wait, had no one in front of us, no one behind us. The course itself is very flat, and has 6 holes that contend with water hazards (Holes #8 & 13 are my nemesis). The sand traps are in poor condition (very hard) but the greens…although slow, are well taken care of. One other point to note is that the base has just purchased last week all new golf carts, that’s the good news. The bad news…They removed the GPS units. The course is not well labeled with distance markers throughout, which was an issue for me.
Bottom line…It’s a fun course for the money and the reach for those who have access to the base for novice golfers such as myself. We used it as a warm up for today! Golfing River Ridge for our Hackers League Play.
