Excellent presentation, lush all over, greens still healing from aeration a few weeks ago. Fantastic layout, 4 hours of golf, attended well by the drinks cart, after using the immense prac-fac. Very cool GPS carts. Professional staff throughout.
Really a must play here before the closure Sep 23.

Played 8-8-12 with our group of 13.

Overall the course was close to outstanding. Only the fact that the greens were very slow and many of the fringe areas were in poor condition (time of the year?) kept it from being perfect. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and *bunkers were all in superior shape. (*Wish the starter/player assistant had told us the rakes for the bunkers were hidden in subterranean boxes around the bunkers so we didn't have to brush the sand with our feet/wedges before finding them by accident in the middle of our round!)

Customer service was excellent and the clubhouse is nothing short of awesome.

Definitely worth a trip to the 100+ degree desert!!! (Buy yourself a Frogg Togg Towel to help stay cool... mine worked great!)

Played 7/23/12 Fantastic course. One of the best in Palm Springs. Fairway's very lush. Greens had been aerated a week before and were about 80% back. They were slow and sandy but putted "OK" The traps were definitely hazards. It's hard to complain about a hazard, but the traps were compacted sandy mud that were extremely difficult to get out of with any control. I do not like the rough around the greens. There is a great penalty to miss a green. The Bermuda puffs up like a porcupine when you try to chip, making contact first imperative. You simple can not sweep the ball off the turf. Over all a great course and will look forward to playing here again.

Played Saturday, June 2nd in the morning and had a great time. My only complaint was they had a lot of tournaments stacked on top of each other, so it played slow-but, I was glad they did so much for our group. The Layout is not as fun as firecliff in my opinion, but was still nice. The course is in perfect condition for this time of year. I was shocked out how well conditioned both of the Desert Willow courses were for this time of year. Everything green and nice from tee to green. Sand was great in every bunker that I was in and the greens were smooth and rolled great. Customer service is top notch and I will definitely be back again.

Pros- Tighter layout than Firecliff with some interesting holes. Course is overall in pretty darn good shape. I really liked some of the green complexes and some of the holes, like #18 is a fantastic finisher and number #7(Par 5, I think is the number) is an awesome risk reward short par 5. Course is in really great shape for the heat.
Cons- Greens micro punched, running a bit slow and bumpy, one off complaint. Windy the day before so trash and leaves and limbs everywhere. Aside from the holes mentioned above, the course has some real blah holes. Straight, 2 bunkers left, I bunker right, green with bunker behind or in front, next... I personally didn't love the overall layout as much as firecliff, but the conditions were exactly the same.
Overall, decent track. I don't think it should rate as an a top 50 on GK type track, but I can see how some of you might like it that much. Time of year would dictate my thoughts and I can see how in the spring it would be nicer.

As with most desert courses the transition into summer conditions can change the way a course plays significantly, Desert Willow has some of the best year round conditions in the Palm Desert area. The only exception is the greens were recently punched with 1/4" airification holes and will not be completely healed for a couple of weeks. Other than that the course will not disappoint you.

What a great resort facility. Beautiful, huge clubhouse with first class amenities.

Very nice staff throughout; an extremely well stocked pro shop.
We enjoyed the all grass prac-fac prior to tee time, with good chipping and putting areas, WHICH are available on a daily fee basis.
We teed off late in the day, so not one golfer was seen until the 16th hole. Burning through 15 holes in just 2 hours (almost dark), it was a pleasure to engage the course tee to green. Immaculate conditions all around. Thick lush grasses, well manicured and a beautiful presentation on a wonderful design. Bunker sand was heaven. Greens receptive, smooth and quick with some scary contours; a lot of fun. The challenge is sufficient from any tee with good hazard features focusing the golfer.
Be aware you do not turn at the Clubhouse. There is a cafe after hole 9.
We had a blast and can’t wait to play again. Definitely recommended.

Played last weekend. Course was in okay shape except the greens. The greens were slow and very hairy. Most surprising thing was they were having a Jr. tourney here the next day. I talked to a couple of Jr. players at our hotel and they couldn't believe how bad the greens were.

Drove down to palm springs to play 2 rounds for the day(9-10-11). Desert dunes was my first, and desert willow mountain view was the 2nd. Been wanting to play this course for a while, since i hear really good things about it. I read a review of the last greenskeeper member and kinda didnt believe the greens were going to be that bad. They were the worst greens i ever putted on. They were REALLY SLOW and INCONSISTENT. Playing on aerated greens would of been better. Besides the greens, everything else was great. Customer service was top notch, layout of the course was good, ice machines on every 3-4 holes, saw the cart girl numerous times, received a cold mango scented towel etc....Anyways i was surprised to see where they kept the rakes for the bunkers. Been in 3-4 bunkers on the front nine, but didnt see a rake inside or near the bunkers(used my foot to cover divots and footprints). On hole 12-13? i walked over a hidden compartment that hides the rakes inside the ground. Very cool. The starter probably tells people before you tee off, but no starter available. Played right after a tournament, so round took less than 3 hours. Would like to play the other 18 on the course(firecliff), but dont think its worth it with the greens this bad.
