Played Tuesday as part of the GK Guru outing, thanks again to JohnnyGK for an incredible deal. Also thanks to IW Golf Pro Tom who came out and greeted us at the first tee!

This is definitely NOT your stereotypical "desert course". The first thing that catches your eye are the brilliant colors from the multitude of flower beds and other landscaping around the layout. Second is the gentle yet nearly constant up/down/sideways of the land, leading to a wide variety of lies and shot making opportunities.

Course conditions were excellent in all aspects. Tees were all level and uniformly groomed with minimal divot damage on the par 3's and a couple holes which dictate some players teeing off with irons. Fairways had great coverage and a clear distinction between that and the rough. Speaking of rough - it was long enough to make you think how it might affect your next shot, but generally not long enough to require a search party to find your ball.

Greens were smooth and rolled very well, a little slower than I'm used to but they should speed up as the season progresses. Our foursome seemed to consistently over read the break but that may be related to the slower speed. Bunker sand was very good, fluffy and consistent.

Service was also top notch. From the time I pulled up and my bag was taken and placed on a cart to retrieving the car and bag and the end, every person I spoke with had a smile, seemed genuinely glad I was there and knew their job.

Thanks Indian Wells Resort - been here 3 times and you always make it memorable.

I played in the second Guru group at Indian Wells with JohnnyGK, rgm2525, and allan_grant, and we had a fun and relaxed round in great weather on a nicely-conditioned course. Earlier reviews hit the high points of the service, conditioning, and ambience. I managed to play the entire course this time, although the first hole gave me almost as much trouble as the last round ……… well, almost. Our group actually had quite a few birdies (and one big eagle); even I had a couple of birdies. Johnny chipped in for birdie from an impossible lie on #6. All three of my playing partners birdied the short par-4 13th hole, but I ‘won’ the hole with an 8, versus their combined 9(!). Lots of fun watching rgm2525 hit bullet fades to the middle of fairways, then knock approaches to inside 12 feet to shoot 68 – and I think he will probably tell you he left a couple strokes out there! I was the third member of the first group off in the GK outing on Nov. 22 and concur with the first two reviews about the course. I would like to comment on a few additional observations: - the Staff here has really "nailed it" when it comes to customer service. Really made me feel welcomed especially in the Pro shop and the starter. Also, friendly service at the bag drop when I arrived. - excellent practice facility. - good cart service and plenty of water stations with ice dispenser out on the course. - the Vue Cafe not only has an excellent view of the golf course, the food was excellent at happy hour prices after our round. An enjoyable day at an outstanding conditioned course!!!

What a perfect day for some GK Review Guru golf yesterday at Indian Wells. Couldn't ask for nicer weather or better company! I was in the first group out with kviser, zgolfinman and HmtGolfGuy, and we had a great time. Exceptional service as always.

Kevin sums up the conditions very well. Great tee boxes. Fairways and rough lush and green. This is the first time I've seen them overseed around the bunkers in recent years, so it was a little different look than the dormant ring they usually leave around them. Greens soft and rolling slow coming out of the overseed, but the putting surfaces were nice and should only get better as the winter goes on. Bunkers had excellent soft sand.

One of my favorite courses in the valley and I always say it's the prettiest of any public course out in the desert. Great conditions, beautiful surroundings and fantastic landscaping make for a top-notch golf experience every time. Still not a fan of having only two par-3s and two par-5s in a par-72 layout, but it is what it is and I always enjoy myself here no matter what.

Good times today with fellow GKers, utilizing a GK Guru tee time. Big thanks to Indian Wells and JohnnyGK for setting this up. It was a picture perfect day and the course is coming out of over seed very nicely. Everything was super green and there was great coverage everywhere. Some tight lies on a couple of fairways with soft conditions, but nothing terrible. The greens rolled nice, but very slowly. In a few weeks the cut will be tighter and they will speed up. Holes 7 and 12 were cart path only. The bunker sand was great: light and plentiful. Great customer service and always a treat to play here.

Played 10/22. PoP was a little under 5H due to "Cart Path Only." I found the course to be very fun and challenging. The fairways and bunkers stood out to me as being the best part of the course. The greens were running much slower than the La Quinta course which I found surprising.

I have 2 negative things to say about this (almost) perfect course. The practice green was running at about an 8 while the course was probably in the 11 range. That's a big no-no in my book (especially when green fees are $100+).

The other knock I had was that there were only 2 Par 3's and 2 par 5's. That is a first for me and a weird course design.

Played the Blues (6642/72.5/132) with Peggy, Charlie & Peter in 4.5H early morning. The weather was excellent, slight breeze, clear and warming up as the round progressed.

Played the Blues (6642/72.5/132) with Peggy, Charlie & Peter in 4.5H early morning. The weather was excellent, slight breeze, clear and warming up as the round progressed.

Unique layout in that they have fourteen par 4's and only two par 5's and two par 3's. Seems weird to play seven par 4's on each side. Normally, that would be a detriment, but the par 4's here all have a different feel/look, good mixture of longer and risk/reward holes to keep things fun and interesting. Very pretty layout with flower arrangements surrounding many holes that add to the visual effect. Tougher than average layout, up/down hills and the large greens complexes are challenging. This course would be a beast to walk as numerous holes are a ways from the last green.

The tees were lush with most divots already properly repaired.

The fairways were lush and provided good lies.

The rough was lush and not overly penal. I was usually able to get good club on the ball and advance shots from the rough decent distances.

The sand traps were immaculate. Well maintained with nice fine sand.

The greens looked and putted great. Medium fast, smooth and firm with few ball marks.

The customer service was exceptional. Something they do here that I have not seen at other courses is very smart on multiple levels. You get a voucher to purchase specific items in the restaurant at happy hour prices if you finish your round in less than 4 1/2 hours. Makes the customer feel special, funnels them into the restaurant and gets their restaurant additional business. Very nice layout in excellent condition, highly recommended.

Played here on 7/9/2016. Fun course especially for the Underpar 2 players $99 deal.
I was sort of disappointed with the fairways. There were many areas under repair and was not be keep up very well.
