06/25/24 play day 06:30am shotgun start First, we couldn’t say enough good things about the staff in all of Wolf Creek- they are class A #1 when it comes to their customer services up at the pro shop, club house waiters and bar tenders and other staff around there. It continuous onto the marshals and crews out on the course. Whether you need to get ice, water, meals, snacks, any beverage of choice, anything in the pro shop… they will help you with a smile and with grace. The golf course is in good shape and a pleasant place to be at. The greens were good. It wasn’t the fastest nor the smoothest Ive seen it before but it was okay. I’ve also noticed that there were more ball divots or pitch marks on the greens than my previous visit. The fairways and rough were lush and so stunning and pretty to see from up above the top tiers of the course- very inspiring as always!! I believe I played my best during this year’s trip here in the area. If you haven’t played here before, I highly recommend you visit here and make it a priority to have this course at your #1 list to play. If you have played it before, I noticed that the conditioning in their prior years was at least a couple of notches better- I’ll just leave it at that.

This is a wild, crazy, unforgettable course. For late August, the conditioning was better than I expected--fairways were in very good shape, the greens were above average, and most bunkers had sufficient sand. The tee boxes looked like a typical municipal course.

On the way to St George and made first stop here today. A little warmer than S CA but able to adapt. Decent breeze and plenty of water and gatorade. Nice $120 green fee was great. Course is showing it... Continue »

On the way to St George and made first stop here today. A little warmer than S CA but able to adapt. Decent breeze and plenty of water and gatorade. Nice $120 green fee was great. Course is showing its summer colors but everything played just fine. Nice roll out on the fairways. Some of the par 3 tees were a little sparse but the peg went in just fine on all of them. Traps were all playable and heard no complaints. Greens were all playable and had no issues with them at all. Wonderful course and a terrific layout. Great customer service at all levels and a great way to start the trip.

Played Friday, 5/26, tee off at 12:50. The wind was howling 20-30mph (I think this is generally the case every day out there). $155 rate and worth it. I'm sure the course is generally in better shape than it is in late May, but everything was very acceptable condition wise.

Teeboxes were good for the most part. A couple of par 3's were chewed up, but they were all level and had good enough coverage to find a spot to put your tee in the ground.

Fairways were very nice. Good roll with good cushion. Never had a bad lie all day.

Rough was a few inches long, but manageable for the most part. Might not be able to go for many heroic shots, but putting a club on the ball wasn't a problem.

Sand traps were just fine. Crusty on top, but good enough sand underneath for the most part.

Greens were good, not great, but good. They were dry and fast but surpisingly held well struck shots.

Service was just fine all around. POP was just under 5hrs, very difficult course with this wind, so lots of prep time and thought to hit your shot. And the course as usual is busy.

Highly recommend. Wouldn't want to play here everyday, but definitely have to play it when you're in the Vegas area. Playing once a year seems like a great choice.

Went to Mesquite/St. George for a two day golf trip with my brother and a couple of 1st timers to the area. This was the 2nd time my brother and I played this course. 1st time was over 10 years ago.

We played Wolf Creek at 12 pm on Thursday 2/16. Rack rate is $330! They give you a $15 credit towards food and any purchase throughout facility . Proshop was loaded with goodies. The course did not seem very busy although the tee sheet was packed. Restaurant had a decent menu and got busy around lunch time. Cart staff was excellent with these crazy gas power carts.

The course is in great shape. The greens were running around 10. Sand traps had bright white sand, however, we could not see a single rake on the entire golf course. Weird. The course drained well despite some rain the previous few days.


Navigating this course is dangerous. Keep your foot on the brakes and keep them limbs inside the cart. Every hole is a post card. Each new hole keeps you guessing if it can outdo the previous hole. There was very little rough. If you miss the fairway, your ball is off the cliff. If you try to hunt for it, you might fall off the cliff. Some of the holes you just need to play conservative and hit the ball where u can see it. Once you start cutting off doglegs and try to carry canyons...you get yourself in lots of trouble......

Put it on your bucket list. You have to try it once. You will either love it...or hate it...there is really no in between. For me, it's a Top 5 of all time course.

Wasn't thrilled about starting on #10. That was not disclosed when I made tee time.

Greens were good, but fairways were very dry and thin with a lot of ground under repair. Some awesome tee shots rolled through to water hazards. Short approach shots on short par 4s were made difficult by the dry firm conditions. Would have been better off laying back to full club distances.

Still a favorite course but we would have passed on the $100 rate given the conditions.

Played on Friday, 7/1, with a 6:50a tee time for $100. Joined by buddy Cliff as he continues his quest to play Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Public Courses (#65). There's no formal bag drop but the carts are lined up right in the parking lot. The attendants will bring the cart to the car and load the bag, then walk back. Friendly check in in the pro shop, which has the Wolf Creek logo available on almost anything you can think of, and a wide variety of hats/shirts. Grill opens at 6 and the prices are pretty good, and there's a drive-thru snack bar after 5 & 14 (can't but a drink cart on those hilly/curvy cart paths.

Course conditions are pretty good but are showing signs of heat of summer and the drought. Fairways are lush and green, but there are spots of thin/dirt. 17 has a huge GUR area in the middle of the tee shot landing area. The greens are spectacular. They are running on the fast side of medium/fast, and a little faster than the practice green. The tee boxes and rough are the areas where it looks like they are cutting back on the water and directing it to the greens/fairways. Tee boxes are cut really short and are thin, however, it doesn't affect the tee shots and the par 3s are in a bit better shape. The rough has been cut to about 1 inch and is just above fairway height to give some course definition. The rough is dry and brown, like the first few days overseed prep. Bunkers are in good shape, but there's no rakes so plenty of footprints.

While not the lush green appearances of the past, the course is playing really well. The accolades are well deserved and is overloaded with spectacular sights. Definitely a must play, even just once.

Played three rounds at Wolf Creek 6-1 to 2, 8:00 start, with the Coffin Group of 20. Was able to add a replay on the 1st at 1:30. Wish I would have booked a later flight on the 2nd to take advantage of another replay, but had to make the plane. Staff was fantastic; there to provide you the best opportunity to have a good time. The course is there to give you MANY opportunities to keep you from a good time - if a low score equals a good time in your book. Tee boxes were being reseeded and many were dirt. Fairways had been punched in some areas and were dirt and seed in a lot of places, but played fine. Traps were raked at the beginning of the day but did not have rakes in them so by the second round you had to smooth out the bunker to have a shot. Greens were punched about a week ago. Still had visible sand in the holes, but they rolled very well. I wish I could blame the aeration for my putting, but putts went where I hit them. Above the hole was more times than not a guaranteed bogey, sometimes a double. Green fees were discounted appropriately for conditions, about $125/round. Enjoyed the challenge and outstanding visual presentations on the tee box. Majority of the tees were elevated. I love the layout of this course. More than 3/4 of these holes would be the signature hole on most other courses. No. 3 is the only hole where I felt there was just no way I could par it. I'd give it two to three weeks for conditions to improve if that's a concern. We had a pleasant 10 mph breeze to keep us slightly less than hot. We stayed at the Eureka: 3 nights lodging, 2 rounds at Wolf, 1 round at Oasis Canyon (meh), for $508. They chipped in $25 resort credit at WC each day for the punched greens. $55 replay at WC was too hard to pass up as was the $49 to also play the Oasis Palmer (fun) on the 1st. Food and beverage prices were very reasonable.

Stopped in Mesquite for the night coming back from SLC to play Wolf Creek yesterday with a friend who has retired to the area. Got up early to have breakfast and warm up at the course and off we went.... Continue »

Stopped in Mesquite for the night coming back from SLC to play Wolf Creek yesterday with a friend who has retired to the area. Got up early to have breakfast and warm up at the course and off we went. Had not played here in several years so was anxious to play it again. And of course was not disappointed. We caught a good weather AM time and enjoyed the course and the spectacular views. This is a course I am pretty sure I could play 3/4 times a week and am glad I now have a friend in the area to mooch a room off LOL. Customer service was top notch at all levels all day. Tee boxes were all excellent. Found the fairways with great coverage/lies/roll all round. Traps (in 2) playable with no issues. Greens chipped/putted just great with no issues. A great course to play and add to your list if you have not had the opportunity to play it. Recommended
