Played the Stadium Course on 9/15/2017 at 7:04am with Nickesquire and joined by a father/son. I played the tournament tees (76.1-150-7300). POP was 4:15 minutes enjoying the course not being pushed by anyone and the group in front of us was at least a hole ahead of us for most of the day. Weather was perfect for the front nine and started to heat up on the back nine. Very friendly starter and on-course marshall. Starter letting us know that this course is the toughest course West of the Mississipi. First time here--general impressions from this golfer's point if view: The moguls and uneven lies in the fairways and just off the fairways are tough as well as the numerous bunkers and water features. The length of the tips on #3 and number #6 were tough but other than that if you can bomb your driver I thought the course was manageable to a certain extent. Well here is that extent--lol--the rough is very punitive-I experienced 3 chips greenside that I just had to look up to the heavens and laugh--not used to leaving a chip 3 feet beside my feet--I thought that was the biggest challenge of this course. I was lucky enough to be in the fairways for the most part today but I can see a bad ball striking day here create BIG numbers. There were so many cool holes I loved like #5, #7 and #16 which was such a cool hole. Its fun getting to hit shots that I will be seeing this coming January/February for the Career Builder. The bermuda fairways were semi-lush to lush, mostly being green with a couple dry patches here and there. Fairways contained great lies and you get a decent amount of roll but not to much. Rated 8/10. The Bermuda tees were so soft and lush that if you did not have a jumbo or long tee in the ground your peg would not be high enough if you like to tee it up high. Most par 3's were filled in nicely and the par 4 and 5 tees were nice. The Bermuda greens were slower for my taste-- in very good shape, held shots extremely well and putted OK. Rating them a 7.5. Some of the very first few green complexes were small and then you had other green complexes like #6 where you could host a wedding reception for dinner on. The bunkers were raked and in good shape. Rated 7.5/10. The rough was some of the most penal thicker rough I have ever played. Ball would settle down to 2 inches beneath the surface. I am rating it a 8.5/10 for lushness, quality and challenge factor. The carts had GPS and were equipped with coolers, they had rest stations--warm up area great with a pyramid of balls, chipping and putting greens. If you want to challenge yourself this is the place. Only La Purisma rivals this place for toughness. Highly recommended.

Played the Blues (6739/73.1/140) with GDR23 and a father/son. POP was 4H, 15M in sunny, muggy conditions with at most a 1 club breeze part of the round. Played better than my 1st attempt here, but enjoyed the course less. Typical Pete Dye design, numerous mounds and bunkers complete with challenging sight lines on almost every hole. You almost never have a level lie after your tee shot because of all the mounds/moguls. There is nothing easy about this course from tee to green. The tees were lush and well maintained, only some par 3's had a decent amount of divot damage. The fairways were lush, few places with severe divots. The rough was lush. You could lose a ball you dropped if you went to your cart to change clubs and did not mark where you dropped it. Numerous delays looking for balls not that far off fairways for all players in our group on multiple holes. Created a POP issue, it was nasty and penal. The plentiful sand traps were well maintained with good quality sand. There are many HUGE traps on this course, a few with 10' to 15' banks/lips to hit over. Avoiding the sand here is a MUCH higher priority than almost any other course I have played. An oddity is that the cart path runs the entire length of several waste bunkers. So you may well be playing off tire tracks if you hit into them. The Bermuda greens putted nice. Medium speed, very consistent, firm and relatively smooth for Bermda. Overall, this is a challenging layout and the conditions were excellent. The customer service was top notch. Cart gal around numerous times. Even playing the appropriate tees, the average golfer is probably going to shoot 3-5 strokes higher on this course than they are accustomed to. Definitely recommended with the above in mind.

Played 6/7 and conditions were great. Lots more uneven lies compared to Nicklaus and maybe slightly more narrow. Still, never got into too much trouble off the tee. I didn't recognize any of the front nine from watching the Career Builder Tournament but the back nine was really fun to play! Fortunately I bogeyed the infamous "San Andreas" #16 par 5 without hitting into the huge 20' left-greenside bunker. I regret not trying to hit a few out of it though! Parred #17 par 3 so I got that going for me. It's a must-play course for anyone visiting Palm Desert!

Stayed in the desert after the GK Event at PGA West Nicklaus Tournament course and played the PGA West Stadium course on 5/9 at 2:16pm.

Was paired with 3 fun guys from out of town, two here on a business convention and the other on a two-week holiday tour of the southwest. All just out to have fun for the day, which made for a very enjoyable group and afternoon.

POP was very good, at 4:04hrs, with minor waiting here and there. Weather was low 70's and overcast, which was very welcome. A 1-club wind from time-to-time.

A very fun layout, lots of bunkers, water in play along entire fairways on a few holes, with rocks bordering, at least one island green on a par3 and other design features to take in. Thought the layout was just a bit easier (my score was better anyways) than the Nicklaus Tournament course. Being in the fairway off the tee was key.

As for course condition, it was just a bit softer today than the Tournament course was on Sunday, and the tees, fairways and greens were definitely watered and conditions were just a bit softer than the Nicklaus course.

Tees were very green and lush, footing just a tad softer. Fairways were very lush and green, a little less roll, but still had some nice roll-out. Rough was a tad longer, about 1 club penal.

Greens looked pretty much the same in terms of mix of grasses, but held shots a lot better. Both on the Stadium course and Tournament course, the greens were prone to spike marks. Putting was true through, the grain was pretty clear, and medium-fast speed. The greens definitely fooled some of my playing partners in terms of direction and amount of break regularly, and was typically more severe than anticipated. #16 was a nightmare for me.

Was in a few greenside bunkers, and had decent success, getting out and onto the green. Sand was firm, but with a good top-layer.

A really fun challenge, highly recommended. The course places a premium on hitting it straight and putting well.

Cart lady came by 4 times. The Marshall busted our chops once early in the round in spite of us waiting on the group in front - seems to be their M.O.

Played this course last week after wanting to play it for years. I went off in the afternoon mid-week so the crowds were thin. Having reviewed GreensKeeper just prior to going there it was noted that maintenance was pending in a few days. With having said that it appears that the maintenance was already starting the week prior. Which is okay, and it was somewhat expected.

The point of this review is just to state how much fun I had at this course! It is extremely difficult, and will punish virtually every mistake. But it just felt so different from the rest of the desert courses there in the Palm Springs Valley. The variation in holes, and risk reward options are virtually limitless, and there is more than enough length for any size hitter. I found myself using different clubs for weird shots, and always had an awkward stance, it was great!!

I have heard great things about the courses condition so those minor infractions can be easily overlooked considering the pending maintenance. I will definitely be going back this fall to play again when it is in top shape.

POP was 2.5 hours as a single. A few groups waived me through without hesitation. The beverage cart was seen many times, and as always the service at this course is top notch. I really enjoy the Starters out at PGA west they are super friendly and make sure you are going to have a great time.

decided to make the trek out to TPC stadium last week as i felt my game was getting into a nice groove and i thought i could score well. pete dye showed me the error of my ways. actually it was probably just my lousy swing. clubhouse was a nice facility that serves the stadium and nicklaus tournament courses. check in was pleasant, pro shop held lots of merchandise if so interested. very large practice range, with a large putting green and practice bunker near the 1st teebox. conditions were generally good. fairways were not 'lush' but consistent and firm. rough would prop your ball up a bit but carried with it many uneven lies and mounds. greens were firm and would only hold well struck shots. they putted true. bunkers had good sand but they were tough to be in, sometimes you'd be hitting up 10-12 feet onto the green. teeboxes were well groomed. lots of water everywhere, bring your straight ball and hit the fairway. shot about 6 or 7 strokes over what i usually shoot but still had a good time.

Played 5-24-16. What a great and challenging course. This course presents many challenges and will test all your skills. The tee boxes are perfect, nice but cruel bunkers. Fairways are a bit firm so you must be precise with contact. Greens were a nice speed not too different from Mtn. course. The fairways have a lot of undulations and the rough is mostly large mounds so tough to hit from if you miss the fairway. Lots of water to negotiate. The final 3 holes make a superb finishing experience. Not for everyone I'm sure but this a a must play!

Tee'd off at 730 am and didnt catch anyone for at least 9 holes. got in at 3 hrs and thats because we took our time .Course is in great shape all around. They keep the course well watered as it is one of their signature attractions so they need to keep it looking nice.

Fairways- near perfect in all ways. we did find a few over watered spots where the water drains but nothing you could not handle.

Greens firm and fast just like we like them (oh wait Just kidding) very tough to hold your shots which is interesting as most green drain to sand or strange lye's.

Tee- never saw a issue with them lush and wide.

Staff- was great and we saw the cart girl every 3-4 holes which is nice.
