First time here for me today. Before I selected this course, I took a pole of votes from the Greenskeeper.org community between Players and Celebrity course. The Celebrity came up on top as a no contest. After seeing the course- after the round today, even though I haven't played the Players course I can see why this course would leave such a memorable impression and receive a strong nod to play the Celebrity course. This course is simply class A in service, class A with their conditioning, and also class A with their design and lay out. The whole course is just gorgeous and it plays really nice. One of the guys here in Greenskeeper.org mentions that the Celebrity course is a shot makers' course, and I agree, it is exactly just that. It is so much fun to play it.

About its conditioning, before I get carried away too far from it, I just want to describe and say that the course is in its pristine condition from tee to green. I could go in details of how good it is as I found it today, but I assure you, I would only be repeating my self on how good they have it today like I am now on how good it is for each part and every corner of the course.

The greens fee today was at $120 a player. I met my friend from OC here an hour before teeing at 8:40am and finished at 12:50pm with only a minimal wait on a few holes. We were joined by two others from Alberta, Canada who were a pleasure to be with in a group.

Anyway, to say the least, this has been an amazing first time playing here, and oh, yes, would I ever come back. I highly recommend it for all. I hope you find it as good as we had today.

First time playing here, played the Blues (6642/72.5/132) in 4.5 hours. Was set up & played on the discounted resident rate of $65. The weather was perfect, low 70's with almost no wind. The customer service here was exceptional. They were getting ready to have their weekly skins game and there were roughly a dozen attendants getting clubs on carts when I was teeing off. Pro shop, beverage cart, starter etc. were all friendly & informative. The greens were firm, quick and smooth. I had a hard time figuring out the break on many greens. Even though my putting results were subpar, the greens rolled extremely well with relatively few ball marks. Both the fairways and the rough were lush. There are numerous flower arrangements on many holes that are played like a red hazard penalty. The sand traps were exceptionally maintained. The tees were level and lush with few unfixed divots. The course is beautiful and is in excellent shape. It is a challenging layout that was very fun to play. This is the first course I have EVER played that had FOURTEEN par 4's, there are only one par 3 & one par 5 per side. Normally, I would find that to be a HUGE negative, but here, it worked. There are some layup holes, some risk/reward holes and a decent but not over powering amount of water. Not an overly tight layout, it was fair. From the huge clubhouse to the putting course to the complementary range balls to the water/ice stations every 3-4 holes to the granite counter tops in the restrooms out on the course, the amenities here are second to none. The carts had what I would consider to be advanced GPS, it provided base yardages, overviews of holes and was comparable to other top end courses. I would love to play here again.

I played the celebrity course on Friday 10/31. The course was very lush and in great shape post overseeding. Being in the desert I would have expected the course to be much more firm than it was, but I guess with the overseeding the place is constantly being watered. I definitely got away with a few shots. The course was in great shape and absolutely beautiful. The staff was excellent and very courteous. My only complaint was the greens.

The greens were surprisingly shaggy. I assume with the overseeding they're letting them grow, but on several occasions I hit downhill puts very hard and still left the put 6 or 7 feet short. I get he course just opened after the overseeding period, but I was disappointed in the fact they're charging full price with how shaggy the greens are. That being said, once the greens are cut to the proper length the course would be perfect.

I enjoyed my round (except the greens) and would consider playing again. This course is recommended as a must play in the Palm Springs area once the greens are cut to the proper length.

Played yesterday 9/20 at 7:30 in the morning as part of a tournament from the yellow tees.

Overall the course was in very good shape. Fairways were very nice with some divot damage. I found myself using the sand bottles for more than just my divots, but lies in the fairways were very good. Rough appeared to have been cut back recently and was far from penalizing. Bunkers looked good, but I wasn't in one so I can't comment on how they played. Tee boxes were fine for the most part with the two par 3s being a bit chewed up but that's to be expected. Greens were fantastic. Pretty firm and rolling great. Anything downhill and down grain was an adventure so you really had to pick your spots to be aggressive on your approach shots.
POP was disastrous (5.5 hrs), but tournaments tend to do that no matter where you are. The staff was excellent despite having their hands full with two tournaments going off at the same time. Saw the cart girl 3 or 4 times in the round.

Really enjoyed the layout and look forward to coming back.

Went to palm desert for the weekend and played IW celebrity course on Sunday morning. We teed off at 845 and had a great time. The course is in excellent condition considering the warm temperatures. The sand is nice and firm and were recently watered, greens were ideal and fairways played great.. We saw cart guy at least 6 times and he always offered us ice and water even though there were many aid stations. Love the complimentary valet!! Just a great golf experience all the way around..

Played 6/13, with a 6:20a tee time, and paid $60. Customer service is awesome from start to finish. It seemed the entire staff goes an extra step to ensure you are enjoying your round, including many "Thanks for choosing to play here today." I was placed with a father/son 2some, and finished in about 3.5 hours. Conditions were great. Nice level tee boxes. Lush fairways with no dead areas, and the rough a few inches longer. I found the sand inconsistent from bunker to bunker. Some fluffy, others medium, and a few hardpacked. Greens were fantastic, a bit slower due to the morning water schedule, but rolling true. I love playing early, but chasing the sprinklers caused it to be very humid in certain areas of the course. I found Celebrity a bit more difficult than Players, with more hazards off the tee and around the greens. There are more blind shots, and a need to pay attention to the free GPS to see where the trouble lies ahead. Celebrity has a different routing, with only 2 Par 3s and 2 Par 5s (1 of each on each 9). I would play both again, and take advantage of the specials available.

Played today @ 10am. Our 2some joined by 2 singles. Both singles were local guys and good golfers so it flowed nicely. Finished in about 4 1/4 hrs so OK. It's always nice to play this course for its quality service and upscale ambiance. A little hot today but I'll trade it for the summer discounts. Condition from tee to green were great. Surprisingly every approach shot made a divot on the green which was unexpected during summer. Food at the Vue grill was a little pricy but couldn't complain. I did have some difficulty focusing on last few holes due to heat but I would recommend this course any time.

Tee-boxes: Good condition for the most part. Offered enough tee choices so as to not allow any one box to be chewed up too much. Level, green and fair throughout.

Fairways: Excellent on every hole. Even with the heat making its way to Southern California, the fairways were green, cut perfectly and were fair in terms of roll and lies. I can't remember a single bad lie.

Rough: This is Palm Springs, so on the holes that did have it, it was very playable. The Indian burial grounds are an interesting feature on this course as were the flowerbeds. Best to stay in the fairway but there were ample areas to hit from off the fairways (even on holes 9/10 with the giant green area splitting the property)

Sand: Was only in it a few times but the sand was fine enough on greenside bunkers to permit soft exits and in fairway bunkers allowed clean hit. Rakes were bountiful and people raked them so clean lies were no issue.

Greens: Rolled incredibly true. Not the greenest of greens but I will take true roll and fair greens over color any day. Some pin placements left me a little baffled but overall the greens were excellent.

ETC: Clubhouse has just about everything a golfer could need, you could literally show up with nothing but your wallet and you could walk out ready to play 18 holes that's how much selection they have. Facilities including lockers/restrooms are world class. Just walking on the property gives you the feeling you are getting everything you pay for. Carts had plenty of juice and excellent GPS which was very useful. Staff was also world-class, made us feel like we were playing on the tour. Overall an excellent time. Well worth the $100 green fee. Highly recommend.

Played last Thursday 1/30/14. Almost immaculate course, rich country club feel, the most beautiful course that I have played and begs to get to know her better.
Friendly, starter got us off early. Bring your camera, almost every hole is a photo op. Even the bathrooms are clean and richly appointed.
T's were lush and mostly flat, on a few, the T's were placed near the front with a slight downhill lie.
Fairways are almost perfect, very tightly mown with the ball sitting up nicely, some divot damage.
Rough was excellent, lush and uniform.
Sand was great, good amount of soft sand and uniformed throughout.
Greens were rolling med-fast and true, with some pits from old divots.
Carts were in new shape with top of the line GPS, carts will die if you get to close to greens or restricted areas.
Layout is very good, but I strongly recommend studying the notes posted below, I wish I had. Some holes have blind spots that leaves you guessing which is the best way to approach the whole. Kind of reminds me of "the babe" course at The City of Industry. Such a beautiful course, everything is so green, flower beds, lakes, water falls, and the mountains behind make this course a must play.
You are going pay for it too, we paid $140 for are 1130 T time during the week.
