Played yesterday in the GK Event. Great course and conditions. Nice, soft, green grass from tee to green. Tees were a little on the thin side, but fairways and rough were very lush. Great lies throughout the course made it super easy to play (too bad I did not bring my A-game). Some areas in the fairways were well divotized and several greens had a lot of ball marks, but those were relatively minor compared to the awesome condtions. I found a bunker or two and the sand was perfect. One bunker had some unraked sand that messed up one of my shots, but the quality and quantity of sand was great. Johnny put on another great event as usual. I really enjoyed the course and hope to be back soon. Top notch customer service from everyone at the course.

Another great GK Event yesterday. Fantastic course and great company as always. Special thanks to JohnnyGK for all he does to set these outings up and give away such great prizes, and my playing partners Hollis, jjrauen and Mendel for helping make it such an enjoyable day.

This was my second time playing the course and this experience solidified why I consider this one of my favorite courses in the Coachella Valley. Of all them I've played, I firmly believe this is the "prettiest" course out there with gorgeous mountain views, interesting hole designs that are beautifully framed and intricate bunkering, mounding, landscaping, trees, etc. From the white tees we played, it's a true target course with many short par-4s that present great risk/reward options. My only complaint about the design is that there's only two par-3s and two par-5s on the whole course, which is weird.

The conditions were very nice overall. I did fix my share of ball marks on the greens and they got a little bumpy toward the end of the day, but the speeds were consistent enough. The tee boxes, fairways and rough were nice and green, though our group got unlucky with a few balls that ended up in old divots (some sanded, some not). I was in one bunker and it was excellent soft white sand. The staff was friendly and helpful and having the little private room for dinner and stuff afterward was a great touch.

Played Friday, 11/8, at about 8:30 a.m. It was the first day the course was opened after reseeding/maintenance. The conditions were disappointing but understandable because of that. The course was very soft and wet. Cart path only. The grass on the tees was pretty thin. Not really bare but with grass coming in. The fairways were okay if a little shaggy and soft. The greens were the most disappointing aspect. They were shaggy, slow and pretty bumpy. They were nothing like the practice green (which admittedly serves two courses). The one bunker I was in had nice sand.

Pace of play was slow as would be expected with cart path only. About 5 hours for a Friday morning. The staff was professional and courteous. There were a couple of beverage carts making the rounds. Absolutely gorgeous weather. Excellent food in the restaurant.

Played Sunday, great weather, nice facility. Top notch Troon service throughout. Good end of summer conditions.. Greens decent and deceivingly faster than I kept wanting to believe. Keep it short of the hole on most because most are sloped back to front. Seemed to always be putting downhill today! Fairways still good, rough good, sand FANTASTIC!!!! Felt like a dump truck full of beautiful fluffy sand in each trap. Awesome!!! Why is this so uncommon to have? I wanted to hit the traps just for the sheer enjoyment of hitting out of them. Great job IW. Saw cart girl and guy often. Full course with people on every hole, but still played in well under four hours. Had a major issue with the guy behind us continually hitting into us several times and situation quickly escalated. Called pro shop for the Marshall to come out rather than going to jail.... Marshall showed up and handled situation very well. Had an awesome round until 14 and just basically sucked after the confrontation cuz i was so pissed off. Kinda sucks. Pro shop guys awesome as well after the round showing concern for what happened. I look very forward to seeing the course in all it's winter glory when GK has the outing.

Played here for the first time. Customer service is top notch and all staff were friendly. Played in under 4 hours. Greens were still green, fairways were still in good playable condition. Course was mildly dry, but not overly lush. Plenty of ice/water machines on the course. Cart girl and cart guy came often. Great pace of play. Sand traps were immaculate. Best sand traps I've ever played out of. The marshal came and gave us cold towels, scented in mango. Typical awesome Troon Service. One of the best!!!

Played this course two weeks ago 7-13 and had a blast. POP was 3:45 not bad for a weekend mid-day. As for the course i was surprised on how easy the course seemed to play after the first few holes nothing special. Then i was told that they just turned over the flower beds for the summer so it made the course a whole lot easier to play. Even with that the course looked amazing nothing bad to say. Ice and water machine's every 3 holes which helps when its 115 degrees out. Staff was friendly the 19th hole was real nice good strong drinks and great finger foods. I will defiantly play again after I try the players course.

Looking forward to playing this course again soon!!

I went out here yesterday to use the UnderPar.com deal (36 holes for $129 on a weekend). Unfortunately, there was a big frost delay in the morning and that made things tough. Had a 7:30 tee time, but teed off at 9:00. They paired me with a threesome and we played at a pretty good clip. We were waiting on the group in front of us on most holes, but still finished in 4 hours total.

The course was in great shape overall. Fairways nice, green and excellent to hit from. Rough wasn't too deep, so it was good to hit from, as well. The greens were in good shape and running at medium speeds. Bunkers had great sand, though they were still kind of damp/frozen in the early morning. The bermuda rough on the edges of the bunkers was dormant for a nice contrasted look. They had it really shaved down, though. It would look nicer and have more of a purpose if it was cut a little longer (like what I saw last week on the Player course at Westin Mission Hills), but I'm sure it's cut down so much at Indian Wells for a reason in winter time.

Celebrity is a great course with beautiful views of the mountains. More hilly than I expected. Though no big elevation changes, there are a lot of ups, downs, twists and turns. A few blind shots. Front nine plays a little tighter and tougher than the back, but the back brings in a lot more water, so it evens out depending on your strengths/weaknesses. Plenty of trees in play on both nines. A lot of big bunkers with intricate shapes. I felt a little weird retrieving my ball from the Indian burial ground area, but luckily I didn't appear to stir up any poltergeist activity. Rack rates a little too inflated for my taste, especially this time of year, but the deal I used made it worthwhile in great winter conditions. Big, beautiful modern design clubhouse. With the frost delay, the range was on mats only in the early morning. Cool little 9-hole practice green complex that's good for pre-round competition/betting or tiebreakers after your main round.

First time playing IW Celebrity, we played its sister course yesterday. This course, although rated high, is more of a resort course (could be because it IS a resort course), more-so than the Players course. I think the Players is a more difficult track. The Celebrity is a more "player friendly" track, has wider fairways for the most part, and generally you always have a shot if you are off the fairway. The course was in good condition, the greens were a bit faster than Players course, but running at medium-fast, and were smooth. There are only 2 blind tee shots on the Celebrity so the course is laid out in front of you-you can see most everything (trouble), but there is more water, and just as many - if not more - bunkers. The bunkers are deep, sand quality is very good though. Fairways were in good condition. Service was very good (Troon Managed), although we only saw the cart girl twice (yesterday the cart was around every 3rd hole ), there is lots of drinking water/ice throughout both courses though. Look around for some tee time deals, rack rate fairly high and it is a busy track, if you are a resident of IW you can play it for $35, so it is pretty busy with residents. Speaking of pretty, it is a very picturesque course. I would play it again.
