I'll let the pictures speak for themselves; the course is immaculate. First time playing here. POP - 1:30 tee... walking off around 5:30. Fairways - hard and fast. Was getting easily 30+ yards of roll out of them. Greens - Amazing. They were punched back in March, and healed great. Consistent and ROLLING. Bunkers - Above average. I had fairway and greenside shots, and was able to execute well. Staff - very friendly. The course layout is really fun. Got punished on a few holes for not laying up, but we had fun, and we'll play the course more strategically when we return. Def recommend if anyone is thinking about this one! They just concluded the city championship that morning so we were surprised at how slow the greens were. if I had to guess, I would say maybe 7. Greens were also a bit bumpy and had some rolls jump a few millimeters off the ground.

Course conditions were decent. Not top caliber but not bad at all. Fairways a bit thin and brown in some spots but definitely playable and nothing to complain about.

Liked the layout of the course. Not boring at all. No GPS therefore get the yardage books if first time playing. Bev cart rolled by a few times. POP was 4 1/2 hours although we waited on every hole.

the only annoying part is the bird poo on 16th and 18th greens (as mention by keith) - I didn't putt on these 2 holes because the greens were full of sh!t.

Overall - fun course and definitely will be back when I get the chance.

PS. greens being punched today per proshop - glad to see GK really on top of things (I'm not surprised)

Played Arrowood on Wednesday the 18th. Have played here many ties before at this time of year and at other points during the season. I was shocked to see the poor conditions that the course is currently in. Lets just jump right into it. Greens I would give a 3 out of 10. Very bumpy, ball marks every where repaired improperly or not at all. Very thin hardly no grain, impossible to find a putt on the course right now that wasn't going through some kind of small bare dirt spot. Very difficult to hold any green no such thing as a hop and stop on this day.
Bunkers, well this to was a horrible shock for the most part, can not remember a time playing here that they were ever this bad. Rate them a 3 out of 10. Very poor coverage in several greenside bunkers. Thin to almost pathetic depth on many greenside. Others appear to have had a truck load of sand dumped into them and smoothed over. Fairway bunkers were not much better on this day, very thin and plenty of little rocks to make you think twice about playing from them. My foursome which contained 2 snow birds from Canada commented that they have played this course several times per month over the last 5 years during their time here in Winter and have never seen the conditions this bad.
Fairways although somewhat thin provided a decent lie on most shots so give them a 6 out of 10. Rough is spotty at best, some areas contain a constant degree of grass, others clumps, or sporadic coverage so go with a 4 out of 10 just because a 3 would be criminal.
Customer service as always is very good, and they do their best to get you out early if possible. Marshalls are consistent with moving play along and carefully watch for horse play by patrons.
It was overall a disappointing round with the conditions but I will be back because I have seen what the course has to offer at the top of its condition.

Wanted to play something new and different so I gathered the boyz and rolled down past Trestles, my old surf grounds, to Oceanside and Arrowood Golf Course. Got an online deal for $49 at 1PM ... we started on time and finished before dark easily as PoP was about 4:15, would have been much faster but we hit a logjam at #15 ... was clear sailing until then. The layout: I would say it is okay, just not something to write home about. A little bit of variation but no 'wow factor', and as other reviews mentioned, they expected more. I was looking forward to #16, the no. 1 hcp signature hole with an island green, BUT, when we got there the green was just marred by coots and their dung. Yeah, everyone knows that I detest coots, but this was pathetic ... there was so much crap on this green that the flagstick was covered with it from setting it down ... #18 was the same. I mean it was really disgusting. That in itself will keep me away for awhile. Okay, easy now, sng ... the course conditions were decent: semi-dormant fairway grass gave you huge roll out with tight lies, rough cut low near the fairway and a bit deeper the farther away you travel. Lots of Enviro hazards ... most fairways had a generous landing area but the roll out could put you in some ugly spots if you're not familiar with what lies ahead. The only map we had was on the scorecard, no GPS. Bunkers were hit and miss, some had nice sand and were well maintained and others not raked and thin. Greens were not cut today so they were a bit shaggy and slow ... they looked fast but weren't ... medium speed at best. There were soft spike marks all around the cup and a few unrepaired ball marks, but in the courses defense I could see these greens have the potential to be in great condition after they're cut and rolled. Was worth the drive only because of playing with old friends made it fun. I would play here again but just not for a while, might come back in the summer. I'm guessing the ho-hummedness of this 10 year old course is the reason that there are not many reviews. All in all, worth a look ... it's not all bad ... look for a deal and I'd say its recommended. You'll just have to deal with the coots and their crap at the end.

Played on 12/24 in the early AM and the condition of Arrowood is fantastic. Course is green, lush, soft, and has very few maintenance issues. The driving range is very poor, they were hitting off of mats only and it's a very narrow area that only holds 15-20 people, that being said the other practice facilities (green & chipping area) are quite nice.

The course is a ton of fun to play. It's a tough, demanding course that starts with an intimidating, half blind tee shot and will keep you on your toes all round. But they through in just enough "breather" holes (like a 280 yd par 4 that is very get-able) to keep the average golfer interested. The greens are smooth & fair but not lightning fast. My biggest complaint on the course is I hit the exact same club on three different par 3's, as they were all playing 190. Make sure you shoot a good score on the front nine, as the back nine is very tough and most people will drop a lot of strokes on the last 4 finishing holes. Especially the 465 par 4 16th with an island green.

Pace of play was ok. We had a 8:30 tee time and finished right around 1:00pm, not terrible for a holiday round.

Got on the course at about 4:20 for $25/w cart, got in 13 holes in the light, 2 in the dark (14 & 18). Course was in good shape, greens a bit bumpy as it was the end of the day, but basically rolled well/just on the fast side of medium. I enjoy this course, the layout keeps you interested. Tees: Good Fairways: Good Rough: minimal, but mostly consistent Bunkers/traps: All with good sand, and strategically placed Greens: Rolled very well on long putts, but shorties were a bit tougher due to subtle breaks, foot prints and sometimes some of the bigger chunks of sand from the bunkers would throw your ball off line POP: At 4:20 there is no one in front of you so it is all engines on full steam! Customer service: The cart attendant when we got in was not friendly at all (just the opposite). I know it was Friday, but golfers always come in after dark, buck up and be courteous. Besides that I have always been treated very well at this course. Overall: Only got in 13 holes, but it was worth $25/w cart. Just makes me want to go back when I can finish!

Played Arrowood on 8/16 around noon. POP was just under 5 hours. This was my first time playing this course after wanting to for so long. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the course as well as the friendly staff and amenities the course had to offer.

Tee Boxes: All level and not much divot damage
Greens: Rolled true and smooth
Fairways: A little thin but I think that's a good thing. Plenty of rollout on well struck drives
Rough: 2-3" which is pretty good compared to a lot of courses
Sand Traps: Only found 1 all day and it was fairly fluffy

Overall, I definitely plan on playing this course again. It's a bit of a drive for me but well worth it if you aren't stuck in traffic going or coming from.

I really enjoy it here. The greens, however, are always a mystery to me. Fast as can be and about as poorly maintained (on a golfers end) as can be. I mean I play twilight at some pretty heavily played courses, as I'm sure many of my GKers do, and I rarely see a course of this caliber with as many unrepaired pitch marks. Regardless of that the course was solid. The fairways and tee boxes in particular were impeccable. I absolutely recommend to those around or those who can make the drive from surrounding areas (I drove up from San Diego). I just wish I was closer.

Played Arrowood for the first time on 7/25/2014. It was a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly, course was immaculate. The best fairways and greens I've played in years! If you want a true "Pro course" experience, you need to play Arrowood. Can't wait to go back.
