Tried playing today as course allowed walking only and that was fine. I found the tee boxes to be all playable. Greens of course soft but all of them played really good. Traps with all new sand held up well and drained well. But the fairways are ALL still heavily wet and muddy. Lift clean and play and hope you get a good placement. Traps with all new sand held up well and drained well. But the fairways are ALL still heavily wet and muddy. Lift clean and play and hope you get a good placement. It will IMO take many days before they dry out. Other then that it was not a walk spoiled as Mark Twain has said.

played fri 1/2, 7:40 tee time; found a window of no rain... the last 3 holes it rained, came down hard the last hole. After many days of rain, and maybe 12 hours of no rain, the course was in decent shape. cart path only, range closed. drains ok, not a lot of standing water in the fairway. bunkers were gur... basically lost ball in the water. Greens not too bad... seemed like they were able to mow the greens and they ran a fast 9, slow 10... I could see how if they were running fast, the greens would be difficult to putt. Was glad to get some golf in, even in wet conditions. didn't rate due to rainy conditions.

What a day at Las Posas Country Club Monday, 12-29, for our first GK Plays Private Club Event… and not just because I got my first Hole-In-One :)

Over the last four years I’ve been running collaborative Golf Moose/Greenskeeper.org/Vivid Golf 100+ players private club events with great success, so it was time to expand.

Las Posas Country Club was in super shape despite the enormous amount of rain days before. Last Monday was a crazy windy day which making the course very challenging, yet clearing the skies for miles around providing fantastic views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Greens, Fairways, Rough and Tee boxes were all in excellent shape. The bunkers were still firm/damp from the storm but all very playable. Hats off to the superintendent and his team. No one expected the course to have recovered so well in this short of time.

After play we gathered at Oscar’s Grill for GK Plays for post round fun, goodies and prizes. I had heard how delicious the food is at Oscar’s Grill so prior to playing I ordered a breakfast burrito and after play, given how scrumptious breakfast burrito was, I ordered the tri-tip burrito. Man, Oscar’s Grill lived up the hype and then some. Always make Oscar’s part of your Las Posas CC experience.

I can’t wait to get back here on March 9th for another great event!

When the director of golf greets you and lets you know the course had it's BEST overseeding in the 18 years he has been there, that's pretty awesome. Wow, the course was lush and glowing GREEN. When you look at the photos I just posted, YES, it was that green, and that lush. Insane. Immaculate conditions, tee to green.

After play they set up our gathering on their beautiful patio terrace overlooking the Firecliff Course, which just reopened from overseeding and it too looked amazingly lush and green. Excellent food and service was provided while we did our after-golf raffle and gave out prizes. Thank you, Vivid Golf and Golf Moose, for loading us up with goodies!

I can’t recommend Desert Willow Golf Resort enough for anyone planning a round of golf in Palm Springs over the next 5 months. This overseeding will blow you away. Two super fun challenging courses. I’m already looking into booking another GK Plays there for this year!

Played Fairbanks in the GolfMoose outing on 12/29. I had been here once before, 12 years prior. The one thing that stuck in my mind....lots of water. Lots. That was confirmed my 2nd time around.,

We played Lakes/Valley combo. Conditions were really good all around. Greens were soft, and at medium speed. I got the speed dialed in quick and made more than my share of putts. Bunkers are large, and the sand is very nice. The staff was very helpful, and made this a really enjoyable experience.

It is a really fun layout, you can get some birdies, but you'll probably splash a ball or five. No houses on the property at all, and really just the one street you come in on. A very isolated place, just a really nice golf course.

Thanks to GolfMoose for getting us out here, and I hope we get to come back.
