Started my three day golf trip on 1/11 at heaven on earth, Soule Park. My first time here and will not be my last. I chose this course over Olivas Links because of all the reviews I read on Greenskeeper.org and other forums.

10:30am tee time. POP 4.75hrs. The course is in amazing condition right now, weather was ideal all day with high at 75*F and virtually no wind. I walked it along with another single walker and definitely recommend, only a couple hilly parts but overall manageable. No real complaints of playing conditions honestly, this course is a real treat and the worst thing about it is how far I live from it. Staff interactions were all friendly and facilities were clean.

Layout is fun with plenty opportunities for strategic shots, greens were rolling true and had good coverage with few if any ball marks.

Put this course on your bucket list.

1-12-2026: On a very windy day when I needed my golf bag to help hold down the Vivid Golf check-in tent, it was another fantastic experience having an event at The Saticoy Club.

The golf course was in, as expected, exceptional condition. Greens smooth, firm, medium fast. Fairways lush, firm, with very few blemishes. Rough, primarily fescue, lush, beautifully defining the fairways with the primary rough (3 to 5 in) and secondary rough (8 to 12 in). Bunkers were well maintained, a little firm (which I like), with quality sand. Tee Boxes, we played the blue tees, lush, cut tight, with very few divots.

I can go on and on about how fun, challenging, diverse and gorgeous The Saticoy Club layout is which recently hosted an LPGA event. The views, especially on our crystal-clear windy day, are jaw-dropping of the ocean and surrounding mountains. But I’d rather have you view the photos I just posted because seeing is believing :)

From a golf course organizer’s perspective, it’s my #1 course for Private Club events. It always sells out. It always delivers a fantastic experience on all levels with the highest repeat event rate of the 30+ courses I’ve been doing private club events at for the last 4 years. It’s the only course for 2026 I’ve booked THREE events at. I always let players know that come to my events, or are considering coming, The Saticoy Club is a can’t miss opportunity to play.

Played today while I have time before relocating. Found the course to be getting into nice shape. While the fairways seemed to be soft they were not as muddy as last round. So coverage was better, lies also and some of them had decent rollout.

No issues with the tee boxes nor the traps. All very playable.

Played today while I have time before relocating. Found the course to be getting into nice shape. While the fairways seemed to be soft they were not as muddy as last round. So coverage was better, lies also and some of them had decent rollout.

No issues with the tee boxes nor the traps. All very playable.

Most of the rough is cut down and what is there is playable and easy to locate the ball.

Greens were in surprising good shape and not as soft as last round so they released shots and chipped/putted nicely with decent speed.

A few more days like this morning and the course will be really nice shape IMO.

Excellent customer service as always from Madison, Christian and Rich.

This is one place in LA that I will surely miss after I move.

Great time out today 1/12/26 walking the blues with buddies John, Ron and Matt. We were met with fierce Santa Ana winds sustained 25mph with gusts up to 35mph+ and temps around 72 degrees. Pop a little over 5 hrs. Well run golfmoose event. I loved the experience of being able to walk this layout today.

Saticoy CC staff should be commended after receiving a ton of rain and damaging winds these last couple of weeks. The course is in fantastic shape.

The rough was about the thickest I have seen it just off the fairways. 3 to 4 inches thick with emerald green color. It was a club grabber and at least a half shot penalty. One of the highlights of the course. Rated 9.5/10

Fairways were very spongy, mostly all lush with great lies and hardly signs of any drainage damage from the rains last week. Rated 8.5/10

Blue tees were level and in good shape with good coverage. Rated 8/10

Greens were in great shape!! Rolling like true glass surfaces. Stimp 11, probably closer to a 12 on downhillers. Very few ballmarks present. Greens are a great challenge here at Saticoy. Had one of my better putting rounds and saw the lines great today. Rated 9/10

Was in greenside bunker right of 4 green that was firm and was in fairway bunker on 15 that had perfect firm sand to hit from. Rated 7/10

Layout is strong here and one of the better tests in VC/SB county. If you want to challenge yourself go play it now with the current rough length and quick greens.

All staff were super cool today. Cart attendants very friendly. Nice driving range with two nice putting greens and members here are blessed to have such a great short game area just down the hill from hole 10.

One of my favorite courses in socal. Go play.

I’m still waiting for my clubs to arrive (and my car and bikes) so I decided to just rent some clubs and get out and finally get my first Florida round under my belt. I went with the local muni course, Palmetto GC since it was close by. This is your average muni course with about average conditions all round. Maybe slightly under “average”. Course is completely flat (aren’t they all in Florida?) with plenty of water hazards. Greens were fairly docile in that they were single tier and mainly flat with just some slight back to front slope. Greens were on the slow side for sure but rolled fairly smooth.

Fairways were a very weird grass but had decent coverage. Fairways were pretty wide open. Rough was more crab grass than anything. bunkers looked to be a bit hardpan but I wasn’t in any so hard to say. Tee boxes were flat but chewed up for the most part, but not horrible.

Overall, it was a nice walk on what was an overcast day. Palmetto is a typical Municipal course with average to slightly less than average conditions but very playable. Not a bucket list course by any means but worth the entry fee. I’m sure I’ll end up playing here again in the next few months.
