After lamenting how much I hurt with thoughts of not playing much, the great weather yesterday didn’t help me stick to my plans. I had to go out and Rancho Vista gc nearby was convenient enough for a quick check in on a mid day Saturday. Took it easy and got the little battery powered buggy with and the fun began right off of the first tee through the 18th hole and shot 80. 4 over in front with bogeys on 2, 3, 4, & 5. Also 4 over at back with bogeys on 11, 12, 16 & 18. Not forcing anything and laying up on just about every hole. Tough chances for any birdies but it sure kept me in play.

It’s a funny game, Golf…

Lately, I’ve been playing decent golf. My number of pars per round are up, BUT so are the number of triple bogeys. I just can't seem to eliminate the blow up holes. Then came Wednesday’s round. Posted a 100. Numerous “blow up” holes throughout the round. 48 hours later, I shoot a 79! And that was with two penalty strokes. It’s a funny game... which I love!

Played yesterday at Braemar CC in LA. Ended up playing all three 9's. On the US open I kept my drives in play but not a lot of fairways hit. I recovered well hitting 3 GIR and a couple of sandy pars. No birdies and I shot a 40 on US Open. Then we played the Masters and I had 3 blow up holes and a handful of pars for a 46, only one three putt from the first 18 holes. After 18 we asked the pro shop if we could go play western and he said Heck yeah go have fun. Well the western is very tight and I lost 3 tee shots add in three 3 putts and it was a disaster shooting a 50.

Well I hope I can find my game soon. Right now my confidence level is at 0! Played Ashwood with Cpennbo yesterday. Shot 22 over from the blue tees. Played Sycamore and Mesquite. Had 1 par all day! 3 balls in the water. I really thought it would be easy to adjust to my new height and being level again. Instead I feel like I'm starting all over again. Granted I have not spent any time at the range which I plan to do this Wednesday at Oak Quarry. I had been feeling confident that everything would fall into place and as I usually do I just walk up to the first tee and go for it. If this keeps up I will have a 20+ index soon. If any of the GK Cup 15 guys are looking for an easy win I might be it. May finish with 0 points at this rate.
Going to load up on used balls for Oak Quarry. Could lose a dozen there if this keeps up!

Had some glimpses of my game returning today. Played at Oak Quarry with the GK guru group. I was 5 over through 7 then as the saying goes, the wheels fell off. A 10 on the 8th and triple on 9 and just like that 15 over on the front 9. Hit a great shot on 10 that just missed the flag but rolled well past the hole. My putting was atrocious most of the day and another 3 putt for bogey. Struggled the next 2 going double then bogey then... 2 triples in a row. Then Bogey and another triple thanks again to some terrible putting. Then the magic returned. Put my tee shot on 17 in the bunker and had to lay up. My approach took a weird but great bounce and headed right to the hole. Made the 5 footer for par. Then an OK tee shot left me 110 out on 18. I was aiming a little left to the open portion of the green but my shot headed right of my target but right at the hole. I think we all thought it was going in. It stopped 2 feet short for an easy bird to finish the round. This was Jeckel and Hyde round if ever there was one. Final tally was 49 front 49 back!

Ah the consistent inconsistency in a round... the highs and the lows...
