I have posted all rounds played in the GK Scoretracker going back over a decade now. I know that many others also track their scores and stats.

Therefore, I decided to sit down and do a little annual recap, looking back over the past few years.

1-Desert Willow Firecliff
2-Classic Club
3-Marriott Shadow Ridge
4-Desert Willow Mountain View
5-CrossCreek

Total courses played: 73

Total 18 hole rounds played: 199

Top 5 new courses played in 2015:
1-Maderas
2-Rams Hill

The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally?

This sounds like an interesting discussion....

195 rounds in a year? DANG!

I've been tracking rounds since 1999 - man I hope I never lose that spreadsheet. All of my "records" were done in my single days in my teens and 20's when I played 3-4 rounds per week, so the post-1998 era ("the married years") get treated differently.

Thanks to a new job in 2013, and more work travel which I can squeeze in more golf, I got in a record 61 rounds this year.

Don't really track "new courses", but as for "most played" - amazingly enough I didn't play any course more than twice this year.

Handicap hi 3.2, lo 1.9 (but I am not a tournament player anymore, so add 8-10 shots because I'd probably miss every 3 footer under pressure)

Best score -2 (3 times), worst score +14. Sad thing is, for one of those -2 rounds, I had to go +4 on the last 6 holes to end there. RATS!

Hole-in-ones: 0 in 43 years. In fact, I've only holed out from >100 yards once in my life, and I didn't even see that one. However, I have witnessed 6 others get HIOs.

Drivers used: 4, Iron sets used: 5, Putters used: 5 (that's a pretty good year for me - I'll usually change more often)

WITB
Cobra LTD driver
Wishon Golf woods, hybrids, irons.
Maltby wedges
Odyssey Tank putter.
KSig balls and gloves!

15 rounds (Including Encinitas Ranch tomorrow.). A Lot less than I hoped after playing 30 last year.

7 new courses ranked
1. Rams Hill (part of a Borrego Springs overnight, phenomenal course)
2. Hidden Valley (birthday round, stunning layout)
3. Borrego Springs Resort (other course in overnight, great conditions)
4. Aliante (Free round from GK)
5. Dos Lagos (Black Friday)
6. Green River (also Black Friday)
7. Oaks North (warm up for the Borrego Springs overnight, and needed to check it off the SD list)

Best score of the year was an 83 at Rams Hill. Must've been the course conditions. 12.6 in the books helped alot
Dos Lagos was my first ever round with 2 birdies.

Index dropped from a 16.5 in January to a 14.6.

QUOTED  What do you track that makes your golf year memorable?

I'd hardly classify 2016 as "memorable" but finally decided to employ the Score Tracker feature for the first time, commencing in February. What started out as a promising year, with regards to how often I was playing, came to a screeching halt in May so my "sample size" is limited. Total of 20 rounds played up to that point but just TWO since then, on September 28 and October 4, respectively.

What I like most about the Score Tracker is it's ability to record statistics and point out trends, either good or bad, in different facets of my game. Having the index as a general reference point is nice but I find the detailed numerical breakdown to be quite beneficial when determining what area(s) of my game need attention. I may have a general idea that I'm not hitting as many Par-3s in regulation as I should be, for example, but seeing the hard data right in front of me really helps drive home that point.

I'm somewhat reluctant to post my stats since they're probably not indicative of where my game may currently sit ("on ice" might be a good way to put it) but here goes:

Total Rounds: 22
Total Courses Played: 7
Low Score: 69 @ Marine Memorial GC (Camp Pendleton)
High Score: 78 @ Admiral Baker-North

Index: -1.0
Fairways Hit: 68%
Greens in Regulation: 56%
Successful Saves: 54%
Sand Saves: 49%

Average Putts Per Hole: 1.60
Average Putts Per GIR: 1.77
Average Putts Per 18: 28.88

In summary, there's plenty of room for improvement, which I hope to address in 2017. It's pretty apparent that, without my relative success on the greens this year, there's no telling where that index would be right now.

Well with the scores listed above I am a little hesitate and intimidated to list mine. I played 38 rounds this year compared to 47 last year. Started Jan 2016 with and index of 16.9. Played horrible in Jan & Feb and it went up to 19.5. (our group uses the SCGA HDCP system) Found something and got it to a low of 15.6 in Nov and currently at 15.9.
Changed putters in late Feb and have been using the same one since and relay like it.

Played 4 new courses, Miles Square Classic, Mile Square Players, Los Lagos, and Marshall Canyon.

Played 22 different courses

Low Score 86 at Green River and Goose Creek

High Score 105 at Tijeras Creek (in Feb) Man Jan and Feb were bad.....LOL

Had rounds of
8 in the 80's
27 in the 90's
3 in the 100's (all in Feb)
No hole in one
No eagle (never had one)
22 Birdies

used 3 driver, 2 brands of fairway woods, 2 brands of hybrids, 1 iron set and 3 putters.
Really hope I get to play more in 2017

What is the answer to life, the universe and everything - oh and also how many rounds I played this year?

42

Early on my handicap ballooned up to 19.5 but some work, a new putter and three lessons (that was basically the first lesson repeated 3 times) I improved enough to get my handicap down to a level rarely seen in my lifetime of 14.8.

High - 108 at Pelican Hill (wasn't actually playing that bad that day)
Low - 78 at Chester Washington (only my 3rd sub 80 round in my life)

Didn't play many new courses this year but Managed to play the following ranked order:
1) Aviara
2) Kaanapali Royal
3) Pelican Hill (North)
4) Jurupa Hills
5) Candlewood Country Club

Hilights - shooting the back 9 of Chester Washington in 1 over is an out of body experience for a golfer like me. Playing the holes of Aviara that I've seen on TV and doing pretty well on them was an interesting feeling. I look forward to watching the Kia Classic this year with new perspective. Playing Los Serranos with GK people followed by playing San Dimas with the other three people who won rounds there in the GK raffle a couple of days later made me feel like a real golfer. And finally, being able to share 18 holes on a perfect golf day at Moorpark CC with JohnnyGK himself was a treat as well. (showed him what a great golfer I was by topping my first two shots)

2016 Rounds played: 40 (with 1 more scheduled) (44 in 2015)

Number of 36 a day: 5 (2015: 9)

Courses played: 19 (17)

New courses: 7 (7)
1. Cascata
2. TPC Las Vegas
3. Desert Willow Firecliff
4. Boulder Creek (Desert Hawk-Coyote Run 9s)
5. PGA West Greg Norman
6. Las Vegas National
7. Tahquitz Creek (Resort course)

Course played the most: Angel Park Mountain - 14 (with 1 more scheduled)

Thought I ended 2015 playing some of the best golf I've played. Then I took a series of lessons and saw my scores go up. Iron play was a lot better, but I couldn't hit driver or woods. Since then, woods have been very streaky, including a bout of "tee yips" as Matt called them. I haven't touched a club since GK Plays Vegas so hoping to end 2016 with a fresh start.

I played more golf this year than the last 10 years!!!

Fulfilling last year's New's Years Day resolution - the same resolution I made for the last 5 years prior - finally!

And you know what, because of the GK Review Guru program that is giving me so many opportunities to play, I'll be playing even more.

In addition, and the BEST part about it, I got to play more rounds with fellow GK'ers than any previous year
