Of course you need stats... or then again... my Spin Doctor tells me I am playing to a 3 Handicap but really I am playing to a 9.7 LOL

Not much golf for me these days. I like to think I am slumming it playing at all the munis and local golf I can get my hands on but even that is sparse nowadays.

Hopefully 2017 I will lazier days

My handicap now reads 10.3 while all I see is more around the 18 range . . . so yes, I am done with stats . . . I am embarking on my first year as a free agent and will now use Score Tracker. I still adjust my score right?

Great topic, Nick. I will refrain from posting my full stats and "best of" lists until the year is actually over. Still some golf to be played!!!

I do know I was able to play over 100 new courses, which is usually my base goal. I generally write a "year in review" article on my blog anyway, so once I have all those stats compiled I will also share them here.

It's fun reading what everyone else was up to in 2016.

Decided to revisit this topic to see how 2019 stacked up against previous golf years.

Top 5 new courses played in 2017:
1-Ventana Canyon
2-Golf Club at Dove Mountain
3-Marine Memorial
4-Arizona National
5-Vistoso

Total new courses played: 15

Total courses played: 57

Total 18 hole rounds played: 113

Courses played the most: Simi Hills 12, Olivas Links 9, Sterling Hills 5

Best score on a regulation 18 hole course: 77

Most memorable occurrences this golf year? Getting in 113 rounds in basically 7 months after twice taking off over 2 months during house moves/renovations.

Recorded most fairways hit in round, 11/14.

Starting to play desert golf consistently for the first time.

Top 5 new courses played in 2018:
1-Sherwood Country Club
2-Aviara
3-Ventana Mountain
4-Trump National
5-Mountain Vista Santa Rosa

Total new courses played: 21

Total courses played: 63

Total 18 hole rounds played: 150

Courses played the most: Mission Hills Player 9, Woodhaven 8,
Shadow Ridge, Mission Hills Dye, Big Rock, Desert Willow Mountain View, Mountain Vista Santa Rosa all 6 each

Best score on a regulation 18 hole course: 70, Woodhaven

Highest handicap update 11.6

Lowest handicap update 8.7

Most memorable occurrences this golf year? Tied my all-time best round on a regulation course with an even par 70. Also tied personal records for most birdies in a round (5), most GIR in a round (13) and most sand saves in a round (3) since I started using Scoretracker in 2007.

Shot 75 or better on 4 different courses, very unusual for me.

Averaged 1.99 putts per GIR, first year I was ever under 2.00.

Recorded 3 straight birdies for the 3rd time in my life and first time since the 1980's.

Started using Arccos to track golf shots

Top 5 new courses played in 2019:
1-Presido
2-Saticoy Country Club
3-Royal Links
4-Links @ Bordega Harbour
5-Oak Creek

Total new courses played: 14

Total courses played: 52

Total 18 hole rounds played: 131

Courses played the most: Mountain Vista San Gorgonio 16, Mountain Vista Santa Rosa 11, SilverRock 10, Mission Hills Player 7, Terra Lago South 6

Best score on a regulation 18 hole course: 77, Mountain Vista San Gorgonio

Highest handicap update 12.8

Lowest handicap update 8.2

Most memorable occurrences this golf year? New irons put in the bag for the first time since 2006. A little longer than my old set, but the player still sucks!

Had 6 eagles this year (high for me), including eagles in 3 consecutive GK events back in May-June.

5/6 eagles were recorded while playing with Gkers. Maybe I need to play more golf with GKers?

What do you track or have happen that makes your golf year MOST memorable?

The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally?

I know I had at least 7 eagles including two in the same round at Revere Golf Club (concord).

I hope to eclipse the 52 round mark in 2020 so it averages once a week. I know with the new club corp card I will be planning some awesome weekend trips across the country.
