Hit the second best golf shot of my life Monday at Desert Willow Golf Resort Firecliff Course. 8 iron from out of the rough from 144 yards on Hole #5. Felt amazing the moment I hit it. Eagle on a hole out!

Would love to hear about some of your best shots ever too!

btw - got to rock two birdie chains at the same time. Glad to be playing with Rob1563 from Vegas as always. But even more so as I only pack ONE birdie chain, he busted out his, much bigger bling than mine and he had a eagle chip for me too! Tons of fun. Love golf!

Nice Johnny!

My best shot - playing in a high school match. Par 4, my drive is in the left rough behind a tree. I can get a swing on it, but restricted follow through and I won't see the shot because of the tree. 165, catch the 7i solid. My 3 playing partners are all in the right rough. Nobody sees it.

Green is elevated, and partners all missed the green way left or right. So we are all searching for our own balls. I thought I'd be around the green, but I see nothing near the green. After walking the green perimeter and seeing nothing, I stroll to the hole, and there it is. My partners were all digging in a creek or weeds for their balls, so I didn't feel right jumping up and down. So I just yelled "mine's in the hole", picked it out, and went to help them search. Kind of depressing that my best shot I didn't see at all.

You were there to see mine. Hard to believe it was 1 year ago? Played Classic Club with you, GDR23, RGM2525. 18th Hole par 5, I hit a hybrid from the bunker from 150 out and landed roughly 4 feet for birdie. And yes I made it. One of the best and most memorable shots for me and in great company.

Merry Christmas to all. May 2020 bring amazing and memorable shots for all GK members.

Awesome Johnny... Congrats!

Five of my eagles have come on full-shot hole-outs, but the best one had to be on the first hole of the Monarch Dunes GK Event. Straight into a fierce wind and I knew I striped it as soon as I hit it. Kevbig also hit a great shot to the elevated green, and I joked that I hope the hole was big enough for both of our balls. When we got to the green, his was tight and mine was in.

My one and only eagle, was a blind eagle, a shot on green #7 at Calimesa CC. Hole 7 is a short par 4, with a 100 yard dogleg right at almost 90 degrees from the fairway. There is a ridge on the right with homes on top that defined the dogleg. Your drive needed to typically be about 210+ yards to be in position to see the dogleg green for your approach.
My tee shot, a "worm burner" with my persimmon Citation, ended up about 20 yards shy of having visual of the green. For my "go for it" blind shot, I grabbed the 8 iron, took aim and fired the shot I was hoping for. It cleared the ridge(and the homeowner's yard). One of my buddies watched it as I couldn't....he simply said "you'll find it". To me, that meant I missed the dance floor. My buddies made me look for it the entire time while they all made it on the green. Since I couldn't find it, I asked them where they thought I should take a drop...they said "look in the cup, moron"!
This is how you know your golf buds love ya! Cheers,
