And no one has mentioned anything about the Ryder Cup. Think it will happen?

QUOTED  Think it will happen?

What's there to say?

If it does then it's

U. S. A.

What kind of team(s) will form? No points being tallied for what? Two months or more of prime tour season(s).

Probably a lot to say now that you brought it up.

I had the pleasure of playing Whistling Straits last Sept. The town and area is so ready for the Ryder Cup. I am sure it has been a long winter in Sheboygan WI and WI has been placed on shelter in as well. They normally open the courses end of April beginning of May but of course they are still closed. If the Ryder Cup is not played, this area (like so many others) will be very hard hit financially. Lets hope and pray for the best for ALL of America to reopen.

Ryder Cup is set tentatively for September 25-27, the week after the US Open at Winged Foot. Incredible back to back events, lots of potential for some mental breakdowns .

I thought the "all captains picks" was a joke. It would be awesome. Plenty of jokes about the Draft "Green Room" and who would still be in it at the end (Patrick Reed).

Combine it next year with the Presidents Cup. That way you would have 3 players to watch in each group.

If it happens, it will be at the end of a highly truncated season at best. Even with all the statistical analysis and navel gazing about who's hot at a given time, golf itself still rejects predictability and trends except in hindsight. I think it would add whole 'nother level of interest to see the players competing knowing that, similar to most of us, they will be that much less certain about how much and which parts of their game will show up under Ryder Cup pressure.

As opposed to the dynamics that tend towards corporatizing, homogenizing, and packaging events, any little bit of random chaos introduced feels to me like a step closer to the original spirit of the event as an "exhibition" of golf — in the sense that golf is always an effort to quiet the chaos within us even as it exposes us.

Okay, not exactly a precise thesis there, but the best way i can describe a gut feeling.

Bottom line, I hope it gets done.
