A few weeks ago, Golfwrx put out a bracket for best golf movie ever, they listed theses 8, 1) Tin Cup, 2) Legend of Bagger Vance, 3) Greatest Game ever played, 4) Bobby Jones Stroke of genius, 5) Happy Gilmore, 6) Dead solid perfect, 7) A gentlemans game, and 8) Caddy Shack. The final came down to Tin Cup and Caddy Shack and Caddy Shack won. I have most of the golf movies and like watching them. I didn't have Caddy Shack so I bought it on ebay and watched it this week. OMG IMHO, Caddy Shafk should have finished last. Three main reasons are I can't stand the 3 stars, Rodney Dangerfield is horrible, (he is as bad as Don Rickles), Bill Murray (can't stand him at Pebble) and Chevy Chase (never done anything worth watching). I also can't believe they did not list the movie 7 Days in Utopia, which i really liked. My winner would have been Tin Cup, with a tie for second with Bagger Vance and 7 Days of Utopia, 4th would have been Happy Gilmore. Caddy Shack would have been dead last on my list.

QUOTED  Caddy Shack would have been dead last on my list.

I'd like to report this post as heresy and sacrilegious... there needs to be punishment here..... 30 day suspension....

QUOTED  Rodney Dangerfield is horrible, (he is as bad as Don Rickles),

1. Don Rickles is old school genius that holds up
2. rodney is no don rickles, but he's ok

QUOTED  Bill Murray (can't stand him at Pebble)

Bill Murray is a comedic genius, good actor. Carl Spackler is his Mona Lisa

QUOTED and Chevy Chase (never done anything worth watching).

Fletch, 3 Amigos, SNL, Vacation, Community

Heresy I tell you.

let me add, I don't think golf movies in general are very good.

Tin Cup is the only non comedy that is worth anything. But even that had comedic moments.

Happy Gilmore and Caddyshack are the only movies on the list that are any good.

My ranking is:
Happy Gilmore
Tin Cup
Caddyshack

nothing else sniffs the list, unless I'm forgetting a movie. I don't think there are any.

Golfwrx put out a non-homogeneous list.

As far as golf comedy's it would be; CADDYSHACK followed by all the rest including any future ones.
Murray did Cinderella Story in one take. If you don't love that scene you don't love golf!

Not a movie but Robin Williams On Golf (youtube) genius too. Albeit a bit vulgar.

Did anyone watch the second segment Prime about Jack Nicklaus on the Golf Channel?

His career and play in 1964-1965 was amazing. First back to back Masters repeat.
Jack in 24 majors he won 5 times, was second 4, and third 3. In that time-frame.

Hitting his permission driver 350 when he "needed" it.

This is as good a place as any to post this.

We've all got spare time now to work on our trick shots.

These are pretty neat - little movies of amusement and amazement!
