| Sunday November 1, 2020 4:10 PM PXG clubs have been among the most expensive on the market since they were introduced. I looked from afar...
Pre COVID prices on the 0311 irons were in the $400 per club range. The 0211 irons were in the $200 per club range.
First PXG came out with attractive deals for active duty military, Veterans and First Responders on their "Special Heroes" program which radically reduced the price threshold if you qualified under that program. So reduced prices were available to a fairly significant segment of the population, which made PXG's much more affordable. I have played with several people in the last 6 months who were playing PXG's they had acquired under that program.
As someone who has been looking online for both new and used clubs recently, the prices of good clubs have been rather extreme. Take your pick, but because of COVID shortages, record number of rounds being played, high unemployment coupled with government stimulus $$$, both used and new clubs have been selling at a premium. And out of stock or back ordered with long wait times has been a familiar theme.
Many manufacturers have been raising prices accordingly.
I was really puzzled with a few eBay auctions I saw recently for PXG clubs. The prices did not seem possible. People were advertising brand new PXG's for prices that seemed way too low to be legitimate. Turns out, they were legitimate.
While almost every major club maker has been increasing their prices anywhere from 10-25% in the last year, PXG radically cut some of theirs.
If you are in the market for a new iron set, and be sitting down when you read this... PXG has brand new iron sets available that are cheaper than some iron sets from every major manufacturer.
Go onto the PXG website if you are interested in details, because they could change at any time.

| Thursday January 21, 2021 8:36 PM PXG sold out their 2020 version of their 0211 irons. They were briefly unavailable except on resale sites. Noticed that their 2021 0211 irons are now available, with 2 major changes.
1) They strengthened the hell out of the lofts on the 0211 irons. A club stronger until you get to the specialty wedges compared to the 2020 versions. They advertise a club longer than the competition and with a 19 degree 4 iron, they can probably deliver that. More like a traditional 2 iron?
2) Their 2021 version of the 0211 irons are going for +$26 a club more than their closeout special on the 2020 PXG 0211 irons. 2021 model 0211 Hybrids and Woods went up a comparable percentage. 0211 irons now much more in line with many competitors comparable irons price wise, but the Woods are still a deal.
For what it's worth. I really like the PXG 0811X Driver I purchased. Jury still out on the 0341X 3W and 5W, have not hit them enough yet for a truly representative sample. | Thursday January 21, 2021 8:46 PM I love the look of that Blackjack putter, but I like my current putter well enough to not be too tempted to plunk down $420 for one. (And that's the reduced introductory price! I think MSRP is around 6 bills.) |

| Sunday January 24, 2021 12:10 PM Price of the same club can vary radically depending on when you catch the companies in their marketing cycle Matt.
I recently received a new TaylorMade SIM Driver and a new PXG 0811X Driver within 3 weeks of each other. Have not hit them side by side yet, but both came brand new straight from the manufacturer. Both are 9 degree heads with HZRDUS Smoke stiff shafts and standard grips. So about as apples to apples as you can get comparison wise.
And one cost $324.99 + tax less than the other on a close out special. Gets down to preference, look and feel, because I seriously doubt there is $10 worth of performance difference in the two. At least for a player of my skill level. The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally? |
