WOW. The list from 24hourgolf is more than impressive. I cannot even begin to think about coming close to those numbers and places. I never really made any quest to play in all 50 states, but recently I have toyed with the idea. I have played in 41 states, plus Canada, Austria and England. I have a trip planned for next year to get Bethpage Black checked off my bucket list, so I'm hoping to also get out pick up a few of the New England states I'm missing.
Again,the list by 24hourgolf is mind-blowing.

Hmm…
An interesting question and it's hard to resist tallying it in response. Nothing compared to the true obsessives in this thread, but as someone else mentioned, maybe more than I would have thought before listing it.
New York
California
Connecticut
Utah
Arizona
Michigan
Pennsylvania
Florida
Texas
A couple of fly-over states I'm pretty sure are not on the list that I can't remember, because I was driving across the country on my own years ago and just stopped randomly to play a couple of times. Possibly Kansas and Missouri.
Queensland (a state in Australia)
Baja (a state in Mexico)

I think that's it, but my mind is getting old and feeble, so I guess I could add the State of Confusion to the list.

Ok, well I've moved around fair amount so I've been able to cover some ground. My best guess 21... Let's list this chronologically.
Minnesota (1987)
Florida (1995)
Wisconsin (1995)
Vermont (1996)
Iowa (1996)
North Dakota (1997)
South Dakota (1997)
Illinois (1998)
California (1998)
Oregon (1998)
Puerto Rico (1999)
North Carolina (1999)
South Carolina (2000)
Kentucky (2001)
Tennessee (2001)
Virginia (2001)
Hawaii (2001)
Georgia (2006)
Nevada (2014)
Arizona (2014)
Utah (2016)
I seem to have the upper midwest, southeast and southwest pretty well covered. Looks like I need to take a trip to play some Mountain golf in the Rockies and the Southern Plains states. Looks like i have my plan for next year. #2017GolfGoals

Great thread. 24hourgolf has been nearly everywhere! Fantastic.
As for me, a modest but good list:
States:
New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, Washington, Hawaii.
U.S. Territories:
Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, V.I.
International:
United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico
Having lived in these states, payed the most golf in California, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico and Colorado. There are some great golf courses in all of them. Do wish I'd been able to play more whilst I lived in the UK/Europe. Would be great to play in Norway and Sweden until midnight in the summer!
Looking forward to more responses!
