The course at Diamond Bar will be closing around July this year due to Cal Trans work on Grand Ave and the 60 frwy. They should reopen in about 17 months but this is contingent on the Cal Trans work being completed on time. You can go to this website and see what the plans are. www.diamondbarca.gov/constructionprojects. Casey O'Callaghan is in charge of the renovation and there is a overview of the new routing on the webpage.

"The project proposes to realign and reconfigure six holes in the western part of the course and three in the eastern part of the course. This includes reconstructing bunkers and tee and green complexes for all holes. Holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9 would be reconstructed in their entirety with new fairways, bunkers, and tee and green complexes. The proposed Project would increase the overall existing course yardage from 6,801 yards to 6,848 yards. The total course par would remain unchanged at 72 and maintain 18 holes."

The longest course in the LA County portfolio just got longer. Played Diamond Bar many many times over the years. Most golfers there can't hit a drive 200 yards but will insist on playing from the blues (tips). Hello 6 hour rounds! lol It will defintely be interesting to see how it all plays out once the renovation is complete.

17 months is a long time. When we played in January they had redone the third green but had us teeing off of a mat! The green was huge and in great shape but it seemed weird that they couldn't have even a small tee box so you could hit off of grass.

The latest on the Diamond Bar revision is that they will not close until September. Its all up to Cal Trans so this date could change again

Just drove by and the course is closed. Cal Trans has already taken over most of the parking lot with stacks of concrete forms and several jobsite office trailers. Per the city they will reopen early 2023 but its Cal Trans so who knows

Man between this and the possibility of Royal Vista turning into houses, this really stinks for the Eastern SGV. Basically leaves Industry Hills, San Dimas, and Mountain Meadows as the only public courses in a 15 mile radius of some areas.

Don't forget Los Serranos and Marshall Canyon. They are in the area and worth playing. I have not been to Marshall Canyon for years but the reviews have been decent.

The construction notes talk about improving the drainage on the course, which has always been Diamond Bar's biggest problem. The corner of #12-#14 sticks out in my mind as being particularly muddy and sloppy. I've hit 5-wood second shots on the par 5 12th that just plug in the fairway to be lost forever.

If you scroll down the page, this website has a nice little map of the upcoming changes. https://www.sgvcog.org/5760project-dbgc

If you really want to geek out on construction plans, this link has the PDF: https://555307c8-adff-4c43-a7f5-7d496a4ae77e.filesusr.com/ugd/f815d4_3c 846134fc0f4ea094e34304d9e80c68.pdf
