Not many recent reviews for a long time on here, so here we go. RTJ2 course and I thought it was good. Much better than a super forgiving resort course so it fit my expectations. Pace of play was great, 4hrs on the button and we were a group of 3. I’d say for the price, play it. Many enjoyable and challenging holes with good views of ocean and volcano. Fair amount of elevation change. Tee time 9:26 and started very windy making it difficult. Wind stopped at 10th and back 9 scoring was easier due to this. I don’t know what’s up with the sand traps, they are some sort of fine gravel. Still pretty coarse to the point I’d look at the bottom of my wedge for damage. I played with visitors, they played a lot of golf in the islands and never seen anything like it. All my gravel shots were simply “picked out clean” since I couldn’t figure out how to play the gravel. Price is right and I’ll likely play again. Course staff was super nice and informative. Keep in mind though, this is like a nice muni or semi-private you’d play at home but in Hawaii with great views and warm weather. Hope this helps
