I played Hibiscus over the Christmas break...12/26/12 to be exact. It was a very windy day, probably 20-30mph. I had a tee time at Old Corkscrew that day, but chose to cancel there and go to Hibiscus because it is fairly wide open. Hibiscus was my home course in high school...some 20 years ago, so I've played it a lot. This course has drastically changed over the years, and all for the better. The have redesigned some of the holes, changed the greens to TifEagle bermuda grass, added a fantastic practice area with range, chipping area and putting green. The clubhouse is very nice as well, with a bar and restaurant. I didn't try the food, but it looked good. Pace of play was good, took our foursome about 4:15 to get around. The course was in great shape. The fairways were lush, with a few bare spots around, but not many. The greens were great. Fast, smooth, and very receptive. The ball rolled true and stayed on line. Best part of the course. The tee boxes were ok. A few were uneven and beaten up, but nothing you couldn't work around. Hibiscus isn't an extremely difficult course. It's relatively short, 6475 from the back tees, and pretty forgiving. I believe I payed $70 including cart, which at Christmas time is a very reasonable rate for Naples. Definitely worth the money. There are better courses close by, but they are more expensive. Hibiscus is a great value for the money, and I definitely recommend this course.
