Played 6/7/09. The new clubhouse is great. The bar/restaurant has a great view of the course. Service was top notch except for the Turkey Panini at at the turn. I didn't have anything else, but I wasn't impressed with that sandwich. Course is in great shape. The greens were aerated 1 and a half weeks ago and were still sandy and bumpy. They used the large holes for aeration. Pace of play was good. We were a foursome, teed off at 12pm and finished in 4 and a half.

They better not raise the green fees here given the baked out greens and fairways due to water restriction it's definitely not worth the full green fees much less the proposed new green fees which are... Continue »

They better not raise the green fees here given the baked out greens and fairways due to water restriction it's definitely not worth the full green fees much less the proposed new green fees which are supposed to be double what they are now...Will not be back if rates go up in June as scheduled due to clubhouse opening next month...Given the economy, they should be reducing green fees here not increasing them to attract more golfers instead of alienating them...Do the right thing or suffer the consequences!

Angeles National is a really great test, 4 to 5 times through to really get a good feel for the course. This is a superbly designed track, for the teens and lower handicapper, clearly not for the beginner with tee to green grass on one hole only.

LA City was an impedence to course construction, to the clubhouse, and now to course condition, where it is usually perfect, green grass is now a given only in landing areas.
What was previously the best condition golf course in LA county, has become marginal, the course is hard and dry.

Home course. Live about 15 minutes away. Beautiful course and not much room for error. Not many bail out holes. Very well designed and accuracy is a must. Not many blind shots at all. The wind can make the course even tougher especially the holes coming back into the "clubhouse." Greens are the best of anywhere, very fast and true. Have seen Marcus Allen, Dennis Haysbert and a few other stars. Shigeki Maruyama calls it his home course. Seen him numerous times. Fun place to play. Love it, but the fees will skyrocket after the clubhouse is officially opened. Too bad.

course is in its usual fantastic condition. get out there soon because the clubhouse is due to open soon and the rates are going sky high! rumor is $190 on the weekend. i never knew a clubhouse could cost so much or influence rates so much. angeles is a nice course, but $190 nice? i think they need to rethink a few things, especially in this economy. golf courses are hurting all over and putting out incentives to bring people out so this seems a little short sighted. good luck to them, i've played it for probably the last time.

This was our first time on this course, and it seemed a bit disorganized on the first tee box. There was some tournament after us and they weren't sure if they were going to have us go off on 10 or 1. The GPS was almost useless on several holes because it doesn't give you any tips as to which side to favor or where to aim, nor yardages to fairway bunkers and carry distance over the environmental stuff which is pretty much like the majority of the course. The staff was pretty courteous.

Had a Tuesday twilight tee time and was in a threesome started on the back 9. Temperatures were approaching 100 degrees, but stayed hydrated best we could, cart girl passed by numerous times (very cute by the way). Despite the heat, it was a great experience. The course is no joke. Forced carries off almost every tee, ravines and arroyos between some fairways and greens makes this course a real test. The course was in great shape despite the heat. Fairways are almost perfect. Tee boxes are perfect I would say. Sand was generally great, but if you get caught in the middle of some of the larger bunkers, it is definitely hard under about an inch of sand. No big deal. Greens were almost perfect. Very fast, but very consistent. By the time 5PM or so rolled around, they had dried out quite a bit and became a little harder to hold.

The clubhouse is just about set to open. Here's the catch, the management is raising prices by about 50% to correspond with this! I don't know how they're going to get people to play at that rate. We see, the market will dictate what they decide to do.

Played today, course was in its regular good condition. Tee boxes were lush and level. Fairways were lush, with no visible dry spots. Lies were very tight. Rough was defined. Greens were in good shape and rolling true. Firm and fast. Sand was good with occassional rocks.. The practice facility is top notch. I recommend this course, however hit it straight.
