I play this course semi-regularly, but played it last weekend (12/2) for the first time since they've overseeded. It was in much better condition than the last time I played in the summer. It's sort of unfair to have to rate the sand traps and softness of the greens since I played the day after it rained pretty hard in Tucson. The greens were soft and the sand traps were in many cases flooded due to the rains. This is a desert muni course, and is one of my favorite tracks in Tucson. Most of the holes are pretty reachable, but there are a couple tricky holes particularly on the front 9. There is generally plenty of landing room, and several risk/reward holes. #1 is a dogleg right with a sunken green. #2 (for whatever reason) always kicks my butt. It's an easy hole. 180 yard par 3 to an elevated green. I love 3-4-5. They give you "go for it" opportunities but the failure to hit green can be severe. This course is very nicely designed into the landscape so you never get the feeling that they had to manufacture holes to fit in with the surrounding area. It's a City of Tucson muni course, and I find it to be my favorite. It will definately sharpen your game . . or kick your tail! The greens were in as nice a shape as I've ever seen them last weekend so it's worth getting out and playing while the weather is perfect in Tucson.
