This is probably one of the top courses in the Central Valley hands down. Right now the course is in great shape!! Was one of the longer courses I've played. Everything about this course I loved. It was well worth the drive from Fresno, which once you are on the 99 it's a quick drive up to Chowchilla. This course can really test all the clubs in your bag. With water on the majority of all the holes, you've either gotta hit it straight or trust the shot shape you choose and take your medicine if it does not work out. I lost 1 ball in a palm tree and none in the water. The greens were extremely fast, probably the fastest in the area, with Ridge Creek in Dinuba coming in a quick second. Not playing this course before I did not know the greens and the different levels and how the greens were contoured behind mounds of grass so it was aim at the center of the green on most shots. Like others have said, when the wind comes up it can really play games with you, and add at least a club length to your shot. Pay close attention to the trees and how they are blowing ahead of you, because sometimes the wind around you can be doing different things compared to the wind up at the green. Again, everything about this course was great!

Played here a couple of weeks ago but was to lazy to write a review, so here goes! I like this course, this course is a good balance of length, bunkering, and greens. The longer holes have greens that are more accessible as not as cnotoured par 3s are med length with water in play on 2. Par 5s are a little weak with wind being the major defense.
The conditions are very good considering the heat they have to deal with. The greens are receptive and smooth, the fairways are lush and great to play from, the rough close to the f'ways is good but beyond that they don't water and is therefore just dirt.
I wish this course was a bit closer to me I would play it more often, but its about 45 miles so I only go there when business takes me in that direction. I would recommend it as the price and conditions make this a very good deal.

3/26/13 - A Bluebird Day.... Our group, of two, was joined by two singles who turned out to be quite good local golfers. They were quality people as well. The course was in super shape; Tee boxes in great shape, beautifully maintained fairways, and marvelous green condition. The greens were true and quite quick which made for concentration and touch. The rough, if it could be called that, was very forgiving, which made it tough to lose a ball. The only area which did not measure up were the sand traps. In fact, it is a misnomer to even attempt to call them sand traps. They were more like crusty, heavy soil. Now, most traps are loose; these were not. This being the only complaint on the day, the detraction was minimal at best. I would highly recommend this course, especially mid-week when there is no feeling of being pushed. The shop and restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. I've played this course in the past and it is always a pleasant experience.

I thoroughly enjoy this course! Played this past weekend after 11am on a $25 special due to the heat. The usual green fee of $55 w/cart isn't that bad to begin with. This course is challenging enough for the experienced golfer, yet not too tough for the weekend hackers! The restaurant-Putters- serves excellent food. I recommend this course to those traveling through Chowchilla!

Not a bad course. Mostly flat. However, your driver must be working. Some long par 4s. Some water. Wind a big factor, a two clubber the day I played it. Into the wind, just take a bogey and go, maybe you'll 1-putt. BUT! when it is with you, oh boy! EX: Was 25 yards short of green on the 546 yd(blues) par 5 10th in two. A straight away downwind hole. Got up and down for my bird. No. 1 difficulty hole is #2. A 468 yard (blues) par 4 uphill. Even with tailwind, a stiff test. Approach on par 5 18th is fun. Course is pretty much an exact replica on Shadow Hills GC in the Indio area south of Palm Springs.

Played there 5/14/09. Found that the overall course was ok to almost boring. It is what I would call a average residential golf course. There are houses along almost every fairway and green. Two parts of this golf course make it worth while, the par 3's are all very strong and the length from the Blue tees. The layout is very prdictable and gives very few options in terms of tee shots or approaches. I was in two of the bunckers the fairway bunker had good amount of soft sand, but the greenside bunker was like concrete. THe other disappointment was the condition of the range balls. If you're a serious player, don'tuse these balls for anything but a good stretch and warm up. I would not go out of my way to play this course again.

Great course to play. Pace of play a little slow but was not to bad for a Friday afternoon. Green fees after noon are a good value for a well manucuried course.
